Amazing in a word! We stop by this area every couple years and saw this place as a landing spot for dinner one evening. It was phenomenal! It's down across from the river in an older building. There's a good amount of parking and tons of character! We sat outside on a nice night - there were probably 8-10 picnic tables as well as a good amount of seating inside. The beer selection was solid and included a number of nonalcoholic options. The food here is gastropub style stuff and was really good! The Cobb salad was a memorable one with a ton of meat. The kids got Philly cheesesteaks - those were unexpectedly delicious and included homemade cheese whiz. Another kiddo got a chicken bacon ranch flatbread - excellent and reminded delicious out of the fridge the following day! The pizzas looked good too and were (as we found) all available as flatbreads. The service was excellent and despite the busy evening, they got to us quick and took good care of us. We don't often plan to return to out of town spots, but this is one we'll definitely be back to! read more

I got the adult grilled cheese and it would have been better i feel like without the cheese that was hardened on the outside of the bread or whatever it was. It made it hard to pull the sandwich apart. The service was ok i waited awhile to get my bill but other than that it was ok. Heavy metal vibes and ice cold beers. Needing a break from the afternoon shenanigans, we walked over to Stompbox Brewing after checking out the Skybridge for a quick drink. We didn't exactly plan to visit it this early into the day but since it was right there, we figured it was the perfect time to check it out so we didn't have to backtrack. Upon walking in, I knew I was in my place. I am a big fan of hard rock and heavy metal and this place oozed with tributes and references to many metal bands and songs. But, it doesn't beat you over the head with it too much and has a restaurant/bar vibe going as well. Emily and I took a table and ordered some drinks while we took this place in. We didn't have late lunch plans but knew we wanted to keep exploring before eating and settling in for the day, so we stuck with just beer here. The food menu did look pretty good and the hot pretzel bites did sound like the perfect accompaniment to our beer but maybe next time. I grabbed the Hefe Metal and Emily got a flight of beers. Her choices were: Devils Made Me Brew It, Flood Insurance, When the Levee Breaks, and Peach Fuzz. I really enjoyed my Hefe Metal and grabbed a can of it to go. Emily really liked the When the Levee Breaks but, in general, liked all her beers but the Devils. When we first took a sip, it was really good but at the halfway point, the beer started to smell and taste like a dirty gym locker room. She let me have the honors of putting the rest of it down. While we were relaxing and having our beers, we saw they had stickers and some sweet shirt designs. The stickers were only $1, so we grabbed two of each. There was a shirt design we both really liked but only mine was in stock. Emily was okay with that since one of the stickers had the design on it, too. Shirts were $25 a piece. Since we were only here for a quick stop, I'll keep this short. The beer for the most part was delicious. The people working were super friendly and the vibe of the place was killer. Between here, Wake Brewing, and Raccoon Motel, I'm starting to think the Quad Cities has a pretty solid heave metal scene... which is pretty frickin' a in my book. I'd highly suggest Stompbox Brewing if you need a place to grab a beer and do some light headbanging. read more

I'm an IPA guy, and I like big beers, and there was only on IPA on offer at the time of my visit, and no high ABV beers. Oh well. I had a Caesar salad and it was just okay, perhaps too much dressing and I had ordered it to have a vegetarian option, and it had bacon in it. I didn't read closely enough I guess - not a big deal as I am not strict, and bacon is almost always delicious. I sat at the bar, and was helped by one person and actively, fiercely, ignored by everyone else. My person disappeared for a little while and I wanted my check and no one even made eye contact. Not a disaster, and perhaps it was close to the end of the night or something. I don't know if I'd go back. Beer was just okay. read more

The food is amazing from pizza to fried chicken. This place has the best bar food on this side of the Mississippi. The IPA's are amazing. Stopped in for beer and apps. Both were incredible. Cheese box without a doubt the best fried mozzarella I've had. Fresh cheese, light breading great sauce (basically broncoberry sauce from arbys) Nachos were maaaassive, thick chips that stood up to all the toppings never got soggy. Beer, really strong super good, some of the best hazy ipas around. My only fear about this place is when the river floods cause would hate to see this business destroyed. read more

One of the better Davenport Quad city area breweries I have visited. Nice quality IPAs - west coast and hazy, and solid Pilsner and Lagers. I was impressed at this place. Nice casual bar area and the food menu looked pretty good. Sadly we ate at the nearby Front Street Brewery which didn't have much food choices (just sub par Italian next door ) so I would highly suggest bringing your group here to start for good quality drafts and cans to go. I really dig their art work too for their cans and displayed on the walls. Clean restrooms too. read more

New hip bar in Downtown! Cool rock and alt interior, minimalistic, modern. Very cool spot. (Music is not too loud.) Came in for a brew but I gotta say the music is rad and its was a good atmosphere. Stompbox Brewing checked all the boxes we desired for an after-lunch, escape-the-weather hang out spot. They're as good a place as any to grab a beer. Less-than-ideal weather had us searching for a place to hang out for a while. Stompbox ended up being that for several hours and for several reasons... First off, the dining room. It is spacious, has plenty of seating, and affords a great and chill atmosphere. We found it very easy to relax with a beer in hand here. What helped that was... Second, the staff. The bartender was a great guy who was very friendly and quick at his work. No one was left for more than a minute without being served and fully squared away. He's good people who serves... Third, the beer. They brew their own stuff and it's tasty! I am a big fan of sours and they had a couple to choose from - both of which tickled my tastebuds in all the right ways. They served the beer cold and it really hit the spot. Sadly, we did not get any food here but what we did experience left me wanting more from a return trip. I look forward to revisiting here sometime in the future. read more

Had the tunnel Vision. West Coast IPA with Amarillo and Centennial hops. 6.3% ABV. Great nose. Perfect bitter taste one would expect from a WC. Got in and served quickly. Stopped at Stompbox Brewery on our way to Colorado (stayed the night in Davenport). From the parking lot, the brewery looked pretty high-class with Great Wall art outside, and great decor inside. I had the Sacred Geometry Pale Ale, which was a hazy Ale and it hit the spot. One of the better Pale Ale's I've had to date. I loved the music theme of Stompbox, and being right near the river, it would be hard to only have one beer here. Parking was easy, if I was a local, I'd go to Stompbox every weekend.
