Absolutely fantastic bar! It's hip, smells amazing, casual yet sophisticated, and the drinks are quality. Had an amazing bar staff and they happened to be doing music trivia that day which was so much fun! Love the town, love the bar, will be back.

We initially were going to a sports bar across the street when Whiskey and Ashe caught our eye. What a great find and experience. Spoiler alert I like cigars and bourbon and Whiskey and Ashe exceeded my expectations. They have a wall of bourbon and rye plus and additional spirits and beer for non-brown liquor drinkers. since we were the only ones in the bar our bartender took excellent care of us. We had many samples and the local Louisiana Seven Three Distillery rye was one of my favorites. If you want a smoke they have a fully stocked humidor and cigar specials. There is a very comfortable outside area with TVs. We all agreed that if Whiskey and Ashe were in our area, we would live here! Since we were ride sharing we spent the afternoon here, ordered food from next door and shared it with our bartender/bourbon guide. Plus one is now a bourbon drinker (sort of) as she was introduced to a bourbon espresso martini. Wow, it was delicious.! Our bartender, Griffin, was young but so knowledgeable and he expertly guided us through our tastings. Pro tip: If Griffin your bartender tell him the folks from Austin said he needs to tell you his apple joke.

Their cozy…read moredining room is elegant and classy, but with a causal flare to it which makes it comfortable for anyone and any occasion! Our server was great - so personable and friendly - and speedy! Our drinks came out quickly and were soooo good! My boyfriend had the breakfast old fashioned adorned with a crispy slice of bacon! And I had the pineapple jalapeño mimosa (fyi, they even have mimosa flights!) The food was out of this world - I'm not kidding. I barely finish my plate anywhere, but their Downtowner Steak Caesar Salad made the clean-plate-club. It's served with two toasted crostinis which were seasoned well and perfectly crispy. My boyfriend had the grits & grillades - Came out looking so good I had to steal a bite. It was divine! Because everything we tasted had been so delicious, we then had to try dessert so we got the crème brûlée. It was my first time trying it, but I swear I felt like my soul had left my body lol. It was crispy on top, perfectly sweetened and balanced and topped with a dollop of whipped cream and strawberries. Amazing! We absolutely will be back and honestly can't wait until next time. 10/10!

She was friendly, sharp, and knew the menu and the bourbon list like a sommelier who also grew up at in her parent's restaurant/bar. Let's talk about the $34 steak night deal -- I came in expecting "good for the price." What I got was "I'm suspicious this kitchen loves me personally." My steak was cooked absolutely perfectly and seasoned so well I considered hugging the chef. The Caesar salad was crisp and classic, the kind that makes you feel like you're being healthy right before you absolutely abandon that plan. Let's talk about the MVP now -- the sweet potato mash with candied pecans. I would like to publicly apologize to my steak because it was no longer the star of the plate. I would order a full bowl of the sweet potato mash if I could. The Bourbon of the Month (Barrell Dovetail) paired ridiculously well. Smooth, rich, and dangerous -- the kind of pour that convinces you that you've made excellent life decisions. I finished with the king cake bread pudding which was the perfect mic drop to the meal especially on Fat Tuesday. This is hands down the best steakhouse I've found in the city. Great food, great service, great pours, super clean restaurant and bar-- Bourbon on Front is officially a "I am coming back and bringing friends" place.
