(Work was done September of 2019) Through a home inspection pursuant to a real estate sale, we found out our radon level was slightly above the federally established limit of 4 pi/L so we needed to have our passive mitigation piping converted to an active radon remediation system. The service we received from RTE was impeccable. It was simply an amazing experience from beginning to end. I dealt with the two Bruces, father and son. My first call to them was intended to be just for basic info so I could compare to other mitigation services, but I had no need to call any other providers after speaking to Bruce Sr. He asked enough questions (and actually listened to my answers!!) about my particular situation to be able to give me an accurate estimate (which ended up being exactly what I paid) and accurate description of the work flow. I never had radon mitigation done before, so I asked A LOT of questions, mostly because I wanted to be sure these guys knew what they were talking about, but also to see if there were any red flags; about maybe lofty promises but potentially substandard work or some kind of bait and switch. And when I thought of more questions or potential problems (what if the passive system that the builder told me was there was not? what if the passive piping is incorrectly wyed into the stink pipe?) and called, I received a call back within a very reasonable time, and always the same day. It was almost hard for me to believe because it sounded to good to be true, but now that it is done, I can state that every single thing Bruce Sr. told me was the God's honest truth (the scope of work to be done, no hidden surprise costs, work completed in time frame given, etc.) Bruce Jr. performed the work on-site, and cleaned up so well afterward that if I did not see him do the work, I would not have known anyone was ever there (except for the manometer installation-- I guess that was a giveaway that someone was there). I just set up the post mitigation radon test kit (supplied by Bruce Jr., but of course the actual testing is done by a different company) and when it was done, all I do is pack it up, slap on the prepaid postage sticker, and drop it in the mail. RTE guarantees radon levels under 4 pi/L, and if the levels aren't under 4, they come back to correct the system. The 5 year guarantee is transferrable to the soon to be new owner, too, so that makes me happy and I'm sure the new owners as well. Wish I could give more stars. Other companies could learn quite a bit about customer service from the Bruces. Top-notch. read more

I've had a great experience with this company! After I received results from my own radon home test kit, I went on Home Advisor, and Angie's List and other searches for recommended radon mitigation system installers in my area. RTE was at the top of all searches, so I gave them a call. They were fast to reply and work out a site visit with me, gave me a fair and accurate quote, and set up an installation date that was much sooner than i would have expected. They called for confirmation a day before the installation and let me know the installer's name and planned arrival time. The installer arrived on-time, was very professional in appearance and demeanor, gave me an idea of how long he would take. He was right on with his time estimate and the work was done quickly, with excellent workmanship, and after clean-up the installer finished with a thorough explanation of the systems operation. I moved to a new home, all is well except radon. The initial reading is between 30 to 45. Radon Technology handled the mitigation job. Stafff from Radon Tech is very professional and skilful. They installed radon fan, pipe outside to roof and carefully sealed most gaps in the basement to make the most effective way to form vacuum. My radon reading went down to 0.3 in several days. The fan is very powerful but make noticeable noise in the bedroom. I talked to the boss Bruce if I remembered his name correctly and he suggested to change to a less powerful fan from RP265 to RP260. The noise went down to almost whisper level and yet radon is still below 0.5. I am very happy with the result and thankful to their excellent job. Highly recommended Radon Technology read more

I had purchased a house about 5 years ago and it needed a new radon system installed. The seller had Radon Technology & Environmental install this new system. Fast forward to this summer, the fan ended up dying and needed to be replaced. I called, they informed me that the fan was still under warranty and I would only need to pay a small service fee. They were out within two days, keeping me informed when they were on the way. Quick and easily they replaced the fan and all was good. I was referred to RTE by a home improvement site after another company refused to come out to give a free estimate, but said over the phone that our waterproofed basement sounded too complicated for them to guarantee. RTE came out in a timely manner, explained everything they would do, gave a very fair estimate in line with what our realtor had advised, and then performed the work quickly. After I sold my house in Berwyn PA, the inspection reported my Radon at 4.0. Frankly it was a bit high. I interview 3 firms to remediate my situation. Radon Technology was by far the best choice to use the existing infrastructure, and, swapping in a new higher powered fan for approximately $1000.00. Bruce was quick to respond to my call and later emails. Having gotten three other estimates, Radon Tech answered my technical and scientific questions in detail. The installation was fairly straightforward and the fan is not noticeable in the basement and hardly audible outside. Using PVC type pipe it blends into the siding.
