We returned to Rae Rocks after 5 years to update and give it another try. I have been hearing some good things about them recently so wanted to check it out. Inside was very busy and cavernous but we got right in and sat at a table in the back. A band was setting up for some live music. We ordered beers, and a half tray of natchos which were very good and had a generous amount of cheese. For dinner, I had 16oz prime rib with 2 sides ($24.99) and I had a garden salad and a baked potato. The rib was cooked correct (medium) and the au joux was a bit salty. The rib had a good amount of fat (to be expected) but had a lot of silverskin and sinew which should have been removed prior to cooking. The potato was not cooked and was hard in the middle. I got that swapped for fries which were decent. Service was eh just ok and not to attentive. read more

Pretty standard dive bar with strong drinks and decent bar food. I actually only came in here because I was trying to pick up an Avis car rental and they had me delayed about 90 minutes. I figured I could stop in for a quick bite and drink. It's right past the hotel entrance and rental car office. There were some regular low tables and a bar area where I sat at - lot of TVs around - and I ordered the fried haddock nuggets and a specialty spicy martini. The bartender was very nice and friendly - seemed to know everyone else in there. She made a great, strong drink and the food came out pretty soon after. I was a bit disappointed with the haddock portion - only about six pieces and the rest of the basket was filled with fries. Went there for the fist time today and if you like chaos and sub par food, this is the place for you. Not enough staff was on the floor to attend to number of customers around an event that the place was hosting. Nachos were not great, to few chips has any toppings on it and the plate was left with just about every chip with nothing on them. The pretzels had no substance and was covered with enough salt to melt snow on 93 north. The beer was cold, so for that - they get one star. An argument broke out and spilt into the lobby and parking lot and staff seems to be involved. Local police came to calm everything down, it was a strange scene and doubt I would be going back anytime soon. read more

I have been here several times in the past but it has been awhile since I stopped in. I dropped my car at Abe's Getty and waited a couple of hours before taking a walk to Heavenly Donuts to get a coffee..on my way back I noticed that my car had still not been serviced. So, I stopped in at Rae Rocks for a beer and take out. The bar was full so I sat at a table behind the bar...the server immediately told me that coffee is generally not allowed in the restaraunt..I explained my scenario. May it's just in her nature , but she seemed perturbed by that I did this. I am a forgiving person but if you are a server you need to be a lot more friendly if you want a good tip.I still gave her 20%. In the past, the owner, Brenna has been nothing short of amazing..the rest of the staff should follow her lead. I don't like giving bad reviews so if I get called out for this..I am more than willing to talk it out because I really do like Rae Rock's. read more

I don't know where to begin. Went for music bingo where you had to reserve your seat. I say this because their Facebook page states that they were sold out so they knew how crowded they would be however, they only had two waitresses working. It was impossible to get service and after about 25 minutes of trying to flag someone down a waitress came over and was so rude. At one point she was carrying two drinks, and I saw her kick the back of a patrons leg to let them know she was walking behind them! Ordered appetizers that were subpar at best. Appetizers were definitely microwaved and very dry. This was described as a 21+ event but the they allowed a child of about nine years old to attend. The table with the child was upset at language being used at a different table, and the man with the young boy caused a huge scene. Staff didn't seem concerned about the other tables which leads me to believe the table with the child was either family or friends of the workers. Food was bad, service was terrible, the place seemed dirty, and the atmosphere was low class. This place was a one and done for me. The one drink I was able to get was OK, that is about as positive as I can get on this review. read more

I felt a bit awkward, bar wasn't too busy & everyone stares at you. Restaurant only a few tables full. PRO-Bartender/waitress was nice, very pleasant. I'm always up for a turkey dinner so I got that. Every food item we have gotten has been exceptionally good, and the drinks are inventive, delicious and strong. Wait staff is wonderful and I love that it's women-owned. This is my favorite hang out place. The Martinis are amazing! We have become regulars at RaeRocks and it is so nice that the servers know your name. Specials EVERY WEEK, the choices keep it fresh. My daughter and I had very low expectations for this place since it is attached to a hotel that is pretty subpar. Due to the fact that we had a disabled vehicle we were limited to what was within walking distance. This place was definitely the closest, but I must say this place does a nice job offering up a decent sports bar/pub/music venue. I ordered the chicken wings and was pleasantly surprised how plump and flavorful they were. My daughter ordered a Greek salad that was a bit excessive with the feta but good nonetheless. i ordered a blt sandwich and i ordered a meatball parm sandwich. both sandwiches were supposed to include one side of my choosing with the sandwich. they were both listed at $12 each. i ordered the meatball parm with onion rings and the blt with a side garden salad. i expected to pay about $28-29 with tax. i got to there it was $36.73 after taxes. i was charged $15 for the meatball sub alone then $2 for the onion rings and then $14 for the blt (no extras) and $3 for my salad and a random EXTRA charge $.25. when i asked why the difference from menu to now i was told it's outdated but regardless i would never have paid almost $40 for a small meatball sub and a blt sandwich. don't follow their set menu prices in black and white because apprently not only are the prices outdated but the menu itself is too because meals doesn't include sides either. very disappointed. read more

This was such a fun place. It's pretty big, they have a bar and dance floor and pool tables. The staff was so much fun. We tried some really fun cocktails. I loved the almond joy martini and the sinamon crunch. I got the eggplant rolatini and quesdillas and they both were delicious. I also tried the Mac and cheese and it was one of the best I've ever had. All the prices were fair mostly less than $12 for the pastas. I was pleased to see a lot of vegetarian options. Packed house on a Thursday night, lucky enough to get here in time to watch a customer being irate towards the bartender because his drink wasn't refilled fast enough... let me just say it's 2020 possibly one of the worst years for the restaurant industry in decades! If you can't go out in public to any restaurant and behave like an adult, you shouldn't bother leaving your house. Now on to the food, I ordered the tips and scallop plate with mashed potatoes and a side Cesar salad and let me just say IT WAS AMAZING!!! Every bite better then the last, I'm talking the salad was great, the potatoes were delicious the tips were cooked to perfection and the scallops... OMG THE SCALLOPS were pan seared and melted in your mouth!!! Don't know who is in the kitchen but whoever it is needs a raise!!! This chef can cook!!!! As far as the service they were both fantastic, Daisy & Nicole were polite, friendly and fast. Not only with the service but the place is clean they actually wipe down the surfaces and make sure you feel safe at your table while keeping social distancing practices in place!! This place has great food. I wasn't expecting it to be as good and fresh as it was! I figured it would be more pub fare type stuff, but I was pleasantly surprised. Lot's of great options. We got the clam chowder, eggplant rollatini app, a burgerband fries, and salmon with rice and cole slaw. Chowder was excellent, I am very picky. Loaded with clams. Salmon was very fresh, eggplant was a little different, having a boursin type cheese, but wow, it was so delicious! I am very picky about my eggplant, this passed with flying colors. Incredible experience at this fine friendly Merrimack Valley bar and grill. My wife and I decided to stop by for a late lunch and very grateful that we did. Not that I was super hungry but scanning over the menu, I saw the Seafood chowder and thought I would give it a go. WOW! I guess the best way to describe it would be "Heaven in a bowl" and what a bowl. Huuuuge, packed with succulent Lobster, scallops, shrimp clams, corn and potatoes all in a rich, creamy sauce. Okay I been waiting for this place for a while and it's finally open!!! The atmosphere is really cool and it has such a inviting feeling. The staff are really nice. The other customers were really nice and happy. The bar is really nice great selections. They do NOT have a dessert menu but they do have desserts!!! Give them some time. We had the homemade brownie sundae omg it was awesome!!! Good size portions on food. I had the steak tips and chicken combo with mash potatoes and corn on the cob yummy. My husband had the black and bleu burger perfect. My son got the lobster Mac and cheese omg!!! It is so cheesy it's the best!!!! I will definitely get that next time. If I could give them a negative zero I would...Let me explain...Second time at this establishment, second time the kitchen " lost our ticket", second time the food (a cheese burger and fried fish sandwich) took over an hour plus to arrive at the table, place was empty when we arrived. We then cashed out with our very nice waitress, who FYI up charged all mixed drinks a dollar fifty at our table, just for the record we never asked for duobles or talls. Moved to the bar for more drinks, my boyfriends band was playing that night or we would've left right after dinner, very nice male bartender, I'm sorry I don't remember his name. $100 in keno, )100 in food and drinks at the table, $50 plus bar tab, if you're keeping track it's close to $250 plus now., not to mention my friends there drinking and playing Keno. Then came the bill, I questioned $1.50 up charge on my bill for a tall drink to the blonde bartender, was told that up charge was for a double?!? I never ordered a double, I ordered a normal drink, Captain and Ginger with a lime, I was never given the option of more soda or more booze!?! But I was sure given a very hard time by that same blonde bartender who doesn't like to be questioned apparently, when I asked her to explain it to me all of a sudden she got so defensive.She tried explaining to me that it was because I had more alcohol in my drink, that was the reason I was up charged $1.50 a drink. I said that's not what a "tall" is thou...? I was then told by her how she's been in the industry for 20 years and I don't know what I'm talking about, and the bouncer will gladly see me out the door. I kindly explained that I'm in the same industry and "a tall" Means more soda not more alcohol, and I shouldn't be charged extra for that, that's when I was told to leave because I'm being unreasonable and combative. She told the male bartender to give me my three dollars back, totally missing my point. I will never go back there!!! I will never recommend this place to anyone who appreciates good food or good service. Good luck to anybody who tries it. Or questions their bill. Great place. It's a bar that serves great food. They have keno and music. Live music on the weekends. A pool table, but again the food is the real draw.
