I love this place ... it's so relaxed and welcoming. My boyfriend took me for a celebratory lunch recently. Sat at the bar ... had my favorite Wachusett Blueberry ale on tap with their Irish beef curry dish. It WAS HUGE ... enough for another meal the next day. OMG ... so good (nicely spiced ... not overwhelming). My boyfriend had their haddock sandwich (asked for mashed potatoes on the side), which he devoured. The staff / bartenders there are FANTASTIC ... always cheerful and accommodating. Asked if we could watch the Golf Channel on the TV facing us, which they obliged. Never felt rushed. My boyfriend and I are frin out of town and we decided on this place. Amazing all around. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting, they had a live singer tonight. The waiter, Trevor, was chill and down to earth, we found him very friendly and relatable. Definitely like that. The food was absolutely yummy. I order the Salmon dinner with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The salmon melted in my mouth. The asparagus was cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes werr moist and delicious. My boyfriend order the steak with fries and onion rings. He said it was iffy only because of the way it was made. The flavor wasn't exactly to his liking but thats also becuse of how we make it back home. Otherwise he was happy with it filled him up. I would have never known about this place had it bot been a childhood memory of my fiancee. The previous location was across the street and this one is much bigger by comparison she tells me. Walking in you will be greeted by all manner of Irish and American signage, trinkets and such on the walls. It feels very homey and is true to its cultural roots. It even has a function room too if you fancy a party or special event. We sat at a booth and our waitress was very quick and attentive. The menu is a lot of Irish classics mixed with American pub/bar food. It's a nice spin on things considering a lot of these mixings of food turn out very good. We ordered the nachos (which are loaded and included bacon bits) and the main catch with them is that instead or tortilla chips they are instead baked kettle chips. Honestly they may have won me over for a new favorite nacho, however, beware the cheese. This place LOADS their dishes with cheese more than any other place I think I have been to that is not exclusively a cheese place- which isn't a bad thing at all and some dishes do not have tons of cheese, but know what you're getting yourself into! We also ordered the poutine which is much the same on the cheese except Canadian bacon appears to be in the mix here- which frankly I haven't had a poutine with that spin yet. It's a little odd at first but once you get into it, it ends up being very good. We only had a few things to note that were a little off. First we tried ordering the French inion soup for her and to be frank the entire thing was cheese and it seemed a little rushed? Far different from how she remembers it so we sent it back and the waitress was kind enough to axe it from the check without question. The poutine was oddly cold on one side but not the other? Still good I just wish it was more hot and melty. Seems maybe it came out of the kitchen first and was left there till everything else was done. The food can take a Little but comparatively to other restaurants but it is by and large worth it. Overall a pretty good experience minus a few hiccups. I would very much go back especially for the nachos! Just have to keep it easy on how much cheese we get next time. read more

This is a great place to watch the Notre Dame football game on Saturday Saturdays. I knew they had a great craft beer, selection, and that their shepherds pie was going to be awesome. But to change things up, I ordered the rack of lamb. No exaggeration, it was the best rack of lamb I have ever had.: eight legs, and cooked to perfection. Service was ok but I don't blame them too much it was full of football fans watching the NFL and eating lunch on a Sunday. Ambiance is excellent. Most of the staff was friendly. I really enjoyed the Pub style Fish and Chips. I would definitely recommend. This looks like a great place for celebrations. In 13 years we have never had a bad experience. The food, service and drinks are always top notch in a friendly and vibrant atmosphere.

The specials risotto kicks butt. Super heavy, creamy cheesy. The cod on top of it was ok, nothing special. I couldn't taste the lemon butter sauce it was supposedly baked in. It was a little dry. But entrees are big and service is excellent. read more

Order the Rack of Lamb and it was cook right, wanted it medium. What I got was medium on the outside but raw next to the bone and not just a little a good amount of raw meet. Mistake was sending it back should have asked for something else. When it came back they had sliced the meet by each rack to cook it more. What I had was dryed out rack of Lamb. Ambience - I arrived about 8 PM on a Sunday night, and I really didn't think it would be so busy - boy, was I wrong! This place was really busy! Still, a couple high tables were available near the bar and the waitress was kind enough to seat me quickly- Poring over the menu, I quickly saw a cottage pie on the menu and of course had to have it! I decided to water it down with a Harp Lager - but I didn't stop there! Oh no, I ordered a clam chowder as well. Unfortunately, they were out of clam chowder-darn it! I decided to make do with the aforementioned cottage pie. While I was waiting, I looked over the restaurant - oh my God, it looked like I was in Dublin! What a fantastic decor! When the cottage pie and beer showed up? I dug into both fairly quickly. The cottage pie was super hot as it should've been, and the lager beer was fantastic! After I got through the cottage pie? The waitress asked if I wanted any dessert? Oh good, lord no way! I was so full. Would I come here again? Yup. In a heartbeat. What a great place to have a meal here in the Andover area. The Mac and cheese was $7.49- I was looking forward to Homemade Mac and cheese - I was shocked when I received the kind that comes in a box that I paid 2/$1 for and have in my cabinet. Although it was plenty for me and I'm sure more than enough for a child, it was plenty probably a third of a box. Service was great except when we asked for the channel to be changed to the big game, it took about 20 minutes and repeated requests to change it. They finally did and it was all good. read more

Corned beef dinner was great. Everything on the menu looks delicious. The fish and chips is enormous. Parking is a bit challenging. This place does get packed. I really liked this spot! I was in town on business and there's not too much around that was really recommended by Yelp. I was originally going to stop by another restaurant but it looked so run down that I decided to try this spot. Wow am I so glad I did. This place has unfortunately gone very downhill from what I remember. It was never mind boggling good but it was always a solid consistent choice for hearty and home cooked Irish food. Never have a left disappointed, but I haven't been here in years as I live in another state now. Prices are sky high for the subpar food, akin to something I could get at a cafeteria. I got the rack of lamb and while the quality of the meat was good and it was cooked to my preferred temperature, it was tasteless and has little to no seasoning. The potatoes were basically just boiled and mashed and the carrots boiled and tossed on a plate. Not a speck of salt, butter, pepper, nothing. I tried my friend's chicken broccoli Alfredo, the pasta was mush and the Alfredo was thin and extremely disappointing. I think Alfredo from a can would have had better flavor. read more

Love the atmosphere, especially if there's a band playing. Good solid pub fare, nothing to really knock your socks off but the basics are always well executed. Personal faves are Guinness beef stew, cottage pie, and Irish curry. Prices are reasonable, and you don't get cheated on portion size. Staff are usually very busy, so service may not be the most interactive or friendly but they are efficient. Really good value for the area, which is why the parking lot is usually full. This is our favorite Irish restaurant within fifty miles of our home. As you enter the restaurant, it is exactly like the restaurants and pubs in Ireland. There are Irish road signs and product advertisements on the wall, and Irish music. The bar area is dark wood and identical to most Irish bars in Ireland. The only difference is the Boston accents of the workers here. We were greeted and quickly seated in a booth. The wait staff at this restaurant is always friendly and helpful. They will often stop by just to chat with you. I ordered a draught Guinness and my wife ordered an IPA. Those arrived quickly and we began examining the menu. During a past visit, I had the cottage pie and that was excellent. You could taste the Guinness in it. I have also had the fried fish and chips. That too was excellent. This time I had the bangers and mashed potatoes. Like my previous dishes, the taste was very good and there was more than I could eat. On my recommendation, my wife had the fish (haddock?) and chips. She loved her dish. We love Ireland and have visited the island many times. The people are warm and friendly, the lodging is cosy, and the food is great. Like Ireland itself, this restaurant is a reminder of all that is wonderful about Ireland. And we don't need to board a plane. read more

Met up with a couple friends here to sit at the bar for drinks and dessert on a Friday night, and had a great time. We got lucky, because the place was poppin and the bar was full, but three seats opened up when we walked in. They had live music that was nice in the background and I appreciate that it wasn't overly loud. I ordered a couple of cocktails and we shared the brownie sundae and banana foster ice cream dessert between us. I am normally a chocoholic but the banana ice cream in the foster dessert was the clear winner. I highly recommend it if you have room for dessert. read more
