This is my personal experience after my future in-laws hired Mr. Allen to defend my boyfriend…read more I'm ashamed to say that some of my future in-laws still believe he was a good defense attorney and that their money was well spent. At one point, I thought the same. I was actually excited to speak with Mr. Allen before court and even looked up to him. However, as the months passed, I realized he was not the hero he was made out to be. In reality, he was an incompetent, lazy con man. This man is a disgrace to the legal profession. Any positive review you may have read was likely written by his assistant, David (who is just as bad), or by Mr. Allen himself. Anyone he has represented is probably serving time in prison or county jail after being pressured into a terrible plea deal that Mr. Allen didn't even attempt to negotiate. Due to my own legal troubles, I gained access to documents from my boyfriend's first felony case. That's when we realized Mr. Allen was nothing more than a prosecutor in disguise. He allowed my boyfriend to sit in jail for five months before any charges were even filed. It sounds insane, but the documents don't lie. The prosecution note on his arrest read "Detention only, No Corpus Delicti," meaning the DA at the time believed no crime had occurred. During those five months, the only motions Mr. Allen filed were for "ancillary funds" and to waive time. I have no idea what he did with those funds, but he clearly didn't use them to investigate anything. A real attorney would never have allowed this to happen. But Mr. Allen is no real attorney. The so-called "investigation" that led to my boyfriend's plea deal was a complete farce. Mr. Allen used the threat of the death penalty to scare him into accepting a plea for a charge that had no real evidence. The DA had already indicated that no crime had occurred. After obtaining a death certificate, we discovered the plea deal violated countless rights. One of the most glaring issues was that officers from the original report claimed they saw the victim in the hospital. However, a recently obtained pathology report states that "Ontario police refused to roll out to the hospital." The hospital staff called the Ontario Police Department multiple times, but instead of responding to the correct location, officers went to the wrong hospital. They never once saw the victim. As if that wasn't enough, they also tapped his brother's phone and used calls between him and his wife as supposed "evidence" of guilt. Mr. Allen allowed an innocent man to take a plea deal for four years. After already spending four years in jail fighting the case, he still wasn't released--he was transferred to serve another six months. Mr. Allen had the audacity to tell him he had negotiated a two-year sentence when the DA had actually said four. It was just another lie to cover his shady dealings. In 2024, during a preliminary hearing for a separate incident in 2023--after a family issue led to my boyfriend's arrest once again--Mr. Allen's incompetence continued. He asked an officer, who was not even the arresting officer and had never met my boyfriend, just two questions. If he actually knew the law, he would recognize this as a Brady violation on multiple levels. He filed no motions, ignored exculpatory evidence that was handed to him, and outright refused to review any documents. He was always "too busy" with a supposed murder case. I pray for anyone who hires this man for something as serious as a homicide case--because chances are, you'll be spending the rest of your life in prison.

Despite my felony charge being elevated with no new evidence, witnesses, or aggravating factors, he did nothing to contest the charge increase. He failed to file any motions to dismiss, reduce, or challenge the felony elevation. To make matters worse, he allowed my case to proceed with the same alleged conduct that was already being handled in a misdemeanor case, even though no new information had come forward. His inaction directly contributed to my rights being violated. A lawyer's job is to protect your interests--this attorney did the opposite. I would strongly advise anyone considering him to think twice before trusting him with their case.

My Son was facing 1-3 yrs in prison. We were referred to Mr. Elliot by 2 people that had used Mr…read more Elliot's services. Mr Elliot made it clear that he was going to try to keep him out of prison but that there was no guarantee that it would happen given the situation, but he was going to try to get him the minimum . That being said we were not expecting much but just praying that it would be the minimum, 1 yr and that they would let him serve his time in county. Mr. Elliot was able to work out a plea for my son and he served only 3 months in county. Mr. Elliot's assistant, Sue is very friendly and helpful. Sue is not in the office everyday and Mr. Elliot is busy so you do get there VM and it can be frustrating, especially when it's your loved one but if you leave a message they will get back to you as soon as possible. I would 100% recommend Kenneth Elliot!! I hope my son learned his lesson and he never needs legal representation but if he or anyone I know were to need it he would definitely be who we would go to. His fees are very reasonable too. I had 3 consultation with other lawyers and they were asking for $15,000 with the cheapest $8,000 deposit and was told he would most likely be doing the 3 years in prison. I retained Mr. Elliot's services the same day we had the consultation because he's the only one that didn't make false promises but did give us a little bit of hope!
