Upon arrival, the team was assessing my teeth to see what shade I was currently at. They brought in Dr. Silver to confirm my shade and before proceeding- they advised my teeth may not get much whiter (pleasantly surprised as she explained since they're my teeth, I am going to view them as yellowed). They allowed me to make the choice and after chatting with the group I decided to purchase some whitening solution for home use. I appreciate their honesty and am writing this to inform the public that while they could have charged me for the in-office treatment (it's not cheap folks- but I knew that going in :) ) they had integrity and let me decide how I wanted to proceed. Many other places would have simply taken the money with little to no concern about satisfaction. They are also great with kids! Check them out! I feel like I'm catching up with friends when I go!

Also, I don't like taking pills and thankfully she didn't prescribe me 3 different meds I can't even pronounce (this was done at the other dentists and I took them obligatorily with uncomfortable results). She was honest and told me over the counter ibuprofen should suffice and wrote down how many mg I needed. I had no bad side effects. A few months later, I had a crack in a tooth caused by an old filling. Once more she had me in and out quickly. Thankfully my mouth has been pain free ever since.

When Dr. Roger Hess entered the room, instead of focusing on the appointment, he began offering explanations for his late arrival. I made it clear that the excuses were not my concern and that I wanted to move forward with the appointment professionally. What immediately stood out to me was that while I was addressing the situation, he was smiling and laughing, which came across as dismissive and unprofessional given the circumstances. Shortly after that, it became obvious he had not reviewed my referral and did not even know why I was there. At one point, he commented that he would need to read through the 10-page VA referral during the appointment itself, which confirmed he was completely unprepared. As both a veteran and a counselor, I understand healthcare offices can run behind at times. However, being over an hour late, unprepared, and unfamiliar with the reason for the visit is not acceptable--especially after a patient drives a significant distance for care. Overall, this was one of the most frustrating and unproductive medical appointments I have experienced.

I had an amazing experience. I came with a dentist referral and didn't know what to expect. I had…read morebad experiences in the past and was a tad uneasy on my drive. As soon as I opened the door, I felt a calmness. The room was inviting, there was soft music playing and Miss Linda greeted me warmly and immediately with a big smile. Ms Barb welcomed me within two minutes and mentioned they would be doing some imaging and explained everything along the way. We decided on a root canal that day, my heart immediately started to beat fast and I told both Ms Barb and Dr Mickel of my past unpleasant experience, and my hesitation. They were both very affirming and encouraging. They allowed me time to center myself and gave me a squishy ball. They talked me thru it and explained every step. I made it and Dr Mickel whispered a quick blessing over me as the end. It was exactly what I needed on that day. The positive messages on the walls were great. I thanked Ms Barb in tears and she asked if she could give me a hug. I have never ever had genuine kindness shown to me at a dentist setting. I am forever a fan!
