For a long time, I have been looking for a good hair stylist. I used to go to Puerto Rico to do my hair, but when I no longer was able to do this anymore, I started searching for a new salon. After trying several salons recommended by friends and not being satisfied with their work, I started looking and checking online for reviews on different salons. I came across with "Rafe Lugo Salon" and I decided to give it a try. I was very impress with the salon, from the decorations, the ambient, the friendly staff, they all made me feel very good. Rafa is amazing, he is jewel, he is very knowledgeable, he knows his business very well. He took his time to examine my hair, asked me lots of questions and then he went to work. I can't begin to explain how happy I was with the final results; I absolutely love it! Left the salon very satisfied, I could not be happier. My first time there, I only went for a haircut, but he also did highlights and they look fabulous. The second time I went, I wanted a keratin treatment, but he recommended another treatment called "Discovery". I was very happy with the outcome. For sure, he knew exactly what my hair needed. Rafa also has his own line of products, they are wonderful! They recently moved to a new location, at the Datran Center in Kendall. I called for an appointment during business hours. I got their voicemail. I left a message and said that I only speak English. They called me back. They sounded frantic when I said I need to speak to someone who speaks English. They were rude on the phone and even if I'd been able to make an appointment (first, they said "no availability"...then said, "3 months"), I would not have gone there. I have very long hair, and when I am a client somewhere, im very loyal to them. I need regular appointments, and they made me feel as though I dont belong there. I was calling around because my longtime hairdresser and master colorist moved away. On the great side, I didnt waste my time or money going to this place, and I was able to find a better, more professional, kind, caring place who values both my business and me. I do NOT recommend this rude place for ANYTHING...even just asking for directions! (It seemed as though they were a front for something). 1 star is wayyy too high a review for this place. read more

The location is safe and there is a very easy access to the lot. If in need of a quick snack, there is a Nathan's Famous at a very short walking distance from the Salon and other restaurants within a 5 minutes drive. The Salon is sophisticated with beautiful furniture tones of classy silver and white. The place is clean, it follows social distancing, mask mandates and all sanitation guidelines (For the purposes of the picture, my mask was removed, but at all times the mask was in place and the service providers kept their masks at all times). Rafe, it was such a pleasure meeting you! Your charisma is contagious, your passion, knowledge and professionalism are outstanding and I could not be any happier to have found someone with the talent you have to fix my hair. I got the Ybera Genoma cortex transfusion treatment with the Ybera Renew Oil treatment to repair, strengthen, and shine my dry color- treated hair. It is a game changer! First let me say the customer service was great, very friendly staff, but... the one thing that turns me off to a place forever is when you go to pay and you're in complete shock. I got my nails done and got charged $75, $87 with tip. I asked the guy if he was sure about that price, bc thats very expensive and he just shrugged. The nails were done ok (nothing at all special), but it took over 2 hours to do. Very annoying. Never in my entire life have i paid that much for an acrylic manicure, nor would I ever- had I known that was the price. This is a regular salon in Doral, if the price is so outside the scope of normal market prices they should tell you the price before the service. Maybe they think they're in Beverly Hills but I'm curious if this is the amount they charge everyone or if I was just special Either way, never going back...After post update- just checked the website and a full acrylic set costs $45!
