I was grateful to be warmly welcomed upon arriving to L.A. Gallery, despite my visit serving the purpose of a Groupon redemption (we all know what the typical business owner reaction is when showing up with a Groupon). In any event, the stylist I had originally booked my appointment with was still busy with her previous client, so the owner did not hesitate to reduce my wait time by pairing me up with a different stylist. The stylist who worked on my hair was VERY nice and her knowledge-level made me feel incredibly comfortable... it's always nice to feel reassured by someone's talent BEFORE putting the fate of one's hair in the possession of another. Her name I am pretty sure was Jessica**, and I could say that with confidence if I hadn't already misplaced the business card they gave me (like a doofus)...but she was very knowledgeable, easy to talk with, and super friendly. **update: My stylist was Amber She easily understood the color and style that I was seeking to achieve that day, and she did a phenomenal job. A month later, and I have barely seen any grays (honestly, every time I left Paul Mitchell another gray hair would somehow pop up out of nowhere). I can 100% attest to LA Hair's stylists' ability to achieve complete coverage of grays. Jessica took the time that was necessary to ensure my complete satisfaction, and even offered me some ideas for how to reduce the oil production in my hair. I didn't really understand what texturing was and as soon as she began the process, I really wasn't sure that I would like it, but as soon as she was finished, everyone in the salon swooned and confirmed that her work was laudable. I really appreciated that the owner Claudia did NOT charge me an additional cost for the additional hair that they had to dye. Many salons will up-charge if you have "long hair" but they did not do this which I was so pleased about. As far as the style goes, I don't know that I would texture my ends again, as it does seem to increase the appearance of split ends and hair thinning, but the nice thing is that hair grows back - and mine grows back pretty fast. I will definitely return in the near future - as soon as it is time to touch-up them grays!

I stopped dyeing my hair and let the natural grey hair grow in. I love the wash and go of my natural hair, but I wanted something different for my vacation. I was really undecided about the blowout until a day before my trip. After doing a Google search for salons that do blowouts on natural hair, I came across Samantha's Phenomenal Dezign Hair Studio and gave her a call. She was so nice on the phone and could fit me in the next day. I was thrilled, this was my first trip to Tampa but I got such a great vibe from her, I was willing to Uber from The Water Street Marriott to her shop. She was waiting for me; she washed conditioned, trimed and blew out my hair. She did a fabulous, fabulous job. I can't say enough about what a great experience it was. I had the pleasure of experiencing BPBB recently and enjoyed the intimacy and coziness of a smaller salon. The classical music throughout was soothing. The bathroom is roomy enough to try on the clothing when it's ready to launch. It has yet to fully blossom and there is so much to look forward to!!

The day of the appointment Esther informed me she was running a little late, so I appreciated the heads up. Once we got started, I explained to her what I wanted (root touchup, haircut and to refresh my copper highlights) and she managed to get 90% of what I wanted. The copper refresh turned out more red than I wanted, but I came back 3 days later and she nailed it! Fortunately (no thanks to sports clips) we were able to get it fixed enough so he doesn't have to go bald at an actual barber with actual professionals. Upon calling sports clips to request a refund considering we had to get it fixed I was told My Linh does not do refunds but that she would "fix it". No way that woman is going anywhere near his head with clippers or scissors ever again and at that point we were already in a REAL barbers chair getting it fixed. My Linh should have her barbers license REVOKED. She did not even show him the hack job she did before he left. She stood in front of the mirror and told him he was good to go sending him on his way to not see the full extent of the damage until he got home. It is absolutely unacceptable to give someone a hair cut this poorly and still continue to charge them. It's supposed to be a bald fade btw.
