Beautiful setting, mediocre food. I always want to love eating here, but every time the food is just very mediocre. They have pretty typical offerings- the food is pretty much just whatever prefrozen stuff comes off the Sysco truck and lacks any extra fanfare. Today I ordered the Great Ohio Lodges Burger and it came a bit crispy and charred, lacking flavor. Fries are nothing special. The kids got chicken fingers (they were ok) and macaroni and cheese, which is just Kraft style. Wait staff is very attentive and do a great job. The seating next to the lake is nice. We got to watch buzzards and deer out the window while we waited on our food. Boats going by also adds interest.

Enjoyed a great meal with an amazing view. The New York strip was perfectly cooked medium rare, the pasta was delicious and the chicken was flavorful. The staff are kind. There aren't many views this good around. Places like the lodge restaurant are hard to staff given a lack of volume and a reliance on rural based staff. However, they were friendly and hospitable. Most places will deliver a Guinness without having to ask for a glass. These are details that some may complain about, but they are minor details. Great meal, looking forward to the next meal here.

The filet mignon was fabulous. 4 star rating is because the service is a bit slow. Even tonight they are slow and it is not close to closing time and there appears to be at least 4 servers and I see only 6 tables occupied. If you do not mind slow service the food is worth the wait.

This resturaunt is worth its prices. Looking at the menu I was flabbergasted at the price but when the food got here it was delicious. I reccomend the pretzels which are crisp putside and soft inside. I gave it four stars because service was slow but I understand since the woman was working alone. An elderly woman came in with a trake(dont know if spelled right) and the waitress was extra nice and patient with her. I RECOMMEND THIS RESTURAUNT!!

Perfect crispy bacon fluffy eggs and delicious sausage gravy and slightly grilled yummy biscuits

Loving the lodge food! I was hoping not to, ya know, bonus diet trip...didn't happen. The view of the lake from all tables is very very nice.

    Gang outside!

A beautiful view hardly makes up for the terrible service. Really disappointing considering how long we waited for our meal.

We started with the chicken wings as an appetizer - 10/10. Great flavor and texture. Duck Fried Rice - 9/10. More wild rice and a decent serving size of duck, which I enjoyed. Braised Short Rib - 10/10. Wasn't expecting the flavor and tenderness that came with it. It's a good choice for a date night, but beware that the tables are close together so you can hear the conversations next to you, unless you don't mind having to lean in to whisper.

Way too much but the wings were edible... and that's where edibility ends! The tofu with peanut sauce sounded good to me, but I swear they took a whole block of tofu and cooked it as one piece. The exterior was bland which meant the inner depths of said tofu was even blander. How do you make peanut sauce bland? The drinks had to be good, right? After all, they're also a distillery with their own craft whiskey. Nope... Epic Fail on the blandest old fashioned in Ohio (I'm guessing). If they're trying to showcase their whiskey... maybe they shouldn't. Just really not a fan. Other Old Fashioned fans in the dining party weren't impressed either. The margarita wasn't much better either. What about a refreshing peach dessert? I'll give you 3 guesses and they all start with B! You guessed it, so flavorless and the pound cake was dry! It was even dry if you were calling it a biscuit. If you're going to serve this, then maybe a peachy sauce to cut through the dryness. Oh, the description promises that, but it did not deliver on those bourbon macerated peaches by any means. Even Bowser would send this peach back! TLDR: Bland food, Bland drinks, Dry Bland Cake, and Bland Drinks (a no-no for a distillery themed place). So many other great restaurants in Columbus, but this is a pass from me.

The staff and service was very friendly, courteous and efficient. I will comment only on the menu items that we ordered for our meal. We ordered the $19 Calamari as an appetizer. While it was pricey for Calamari we felt for the Butcherblock's review reputation it should be worth the price along with maybe a generous serving. Sadly, it was some of the worse Calamari that we had ever encountered in any restaurant. It was deep fried, which is ok, but it was very thinly sliced and mostly consisted of breading! Along with what seemed like just a $19 serving of breading, the Calamari was apparently over cooked and the toughest chew, I think, we had ever encountered. It was obviously an appetizer that they did not know how to properly prepare. The amount itself, for the price, was also not very generous. As it turned out, that was probably ok, since we did not finish the serving. We did mention our disappointment to the server and an offer was made to prepare it again. However we unfortunately are the type of diners that never ask food to be done over again. which, of course, we need to do. Bottom line, don't ever waste you money on this appetizer!! For the entree's, my wife ordered the $54 Rib Eye. I opted for the $36 Parmesan Crusted Salmon dish. The Salmon was served over a bed of asparagus and covered with creamy garlic sauce. The presentation of the serving was very eye catching itself. The Salmon was baked to medium and was perfectly prepared. It was full of flavor and if you enjoy Salmon and would recommend this dish. Very satisfying serving and something I would order again. The Rib Eye entree was a little disappointing for a few reasons. First off, the owner of this restaurant is advertised has being raised on and an owner of a Beef Cattle enterprise so you expect steak is going to be the premier servings. We were a little surprised at how thin the 14oz rib eye was cut. It would seem it might be difficult to properly grill the steak to the level requested. In spite of the, we assume 14oz, steak being somewhat thin cut, it was tender as expected and the flavor was very good. The serving of onion rings on top of the Rib Eye, unfortunately, fell in the same category as the Calamari! The onions themselves, if they were there, were so thinly sliced and heavy with breading, that it seemed as though all you were tasting was crispy breading. Also bear in mind, along with the price of this steak, you will also have to pay for anything additional. You will pay $7 if want a baked potato with that steak. That is a little disappointing that nothing else is included for price of the steak. For really good 20oz bone in Rib Eye steak we have been to the Pine Club in Dayton. Along with the $50 something price, all the extras are included for that. You get great dinner roles, baked potato, salad and great stewed tomato's! We enjoyed our time at the restaurant with just a few disappointments. We may try lunch next time also. However for expensive steak, we will opt for the Pine Club.
