Her workouts are thorough, comprehensive, and tailored absolutely to what your needs are. I am very discerning when it comes to trainers - having worked out with a number of them, and having been in the fitness industry myself for 10 years - and have a very, very high standard for whom I train with. And I appreciate having a trainer to motivate me and keep things challenging while understanding what's appropriate for me, where I am, and where I want to be. Christine is great at creating innovative, interesting, non-repetitive workouts. When we started working out, I brought in recommendations from my physical therapist and some of the rehab exercises I was doing, and she was able to incorporate them into the workout, but in new ways. She helped me build symmetry and strength - and now that joint that we spent a lot of time stabilizing is no longer an issue :-) She's been able to modify workouts on the fly if I wanted more challenge or needed less challenge. Most important is the way I feel when I am there and the progress I am making. The atmosphere is aesthetically pleasing and clean. The music is fun, and playlists are welcome. Jacob and Melissa create a warm, welcoming and fun environment that feels very inclusive. My experience with other customers, both male and female, has also been very positive. The gym attracts a supportive and friendly crowd. When I am there, I feel internally relaxed and I can focus on my workout. I have had many trainers over the years; personally, Melissa is by far the best trainer I have worked with. She is not only a certified trainer and yoga instructor; she has a degree in exercise science which is frequently demonstrated by her knowledge. I feel like I learn something new with every session. Her workouts are just the right amount of challenging. She ensures this by asking questions to assess and prevent injury. If I come in with pain, she has knowledge of how to release muscle tension using stretching exercises and equipment. Melissa really listens. This is so important to me. Another benefit is the delicious protein shakes at the end of each weight training session. Over the last year, I have attended yoga classes here, and have bought multiple personal training packages which, for me, included one to one yoga and one to one weight training and cardio. This studio has been in the neighborhood for years, and is a very great fitness staple in an area with a dearth of exercise studios ( maybe because most buildings have their own gyms). I have found Westside Pilates to typically be quick to respond over email, and are always easy to reach that way. I've been doing duet lessons with a friend, which have been great. We have had Lindsey as our instructor. She is very knowledgeable, thoughtful, and friendly. I am currently pregnant, and Lindsey has been making really great modifications for me based on the progression of my pregnancy and my physical limitations. I have enjoyed my experience with Westside Pilates and would definitely recommend!

I tried the Full Body Muscle class with Bryan, and he was a really good instructor. He had a clear vision for what he wanted us to do. I haven't really worked out very much with weights before, and Bryan did a good job of explaining and demonstrating what he wanted us to do, and was really good at correcting our form when we needed it. At the end of the day, I really did feel like my whole body got a workout. The gym is a bit small but comfortable. Would recommend the classes here to anyone! (In fact, I did, and my roommate came back after class with an extremely drenched shirt.)
