Really enjoyed my experience here. I came for Monday's 5:15 Prenatal Yoga and stretch class with Anna. There was only one other person in the class so we each got a lot of individual attention. I felt very lucky that both of us had almost the exact same due date! Anna was very kind and gave us blankets for our knees to curb discomfort. Although it's mostly a yoga and stretch class, we did do some challenging things like wall sits (3 of them-each 1 minute long) and push ups (modified, but still). The space was small and intimate, perfect for a small class. Apparently the room can hold up to 11 people-but I can't imagine that. The candles in the darkness were a nice end for the relaxation shavasana at the end of class. Anna also gave us suggestions of stretches and massages for labor. The Pilates machine room looked interesting-I might want to try that at some point. read more

Just Like Om is a charming new Pilates studio. It offers small group classes in a space that has a changing area and a store with apparel. The owner herself teaches some of the classes which is a perk. The class I took was challenging and I was sore for days after! read more

I am 36 weeks pregnant and Melissa has been giving me private at home sessions helping me work through some of those pregnancy pains with pilates sessions since week 25. She is also helping me strengthen myself in preparation for delivery. Melissa will be my Doula during delivery and so far has been very informative and professional. She has helped walk me through a birth plan that I feel confident with and am very happy she will be there to support me during my delivery! I can't wait to go to her new studio for future "baby and me" pilates classes and am SO happy to hear she will provide daycare on those days I come in for a reformer pilates class. I attended a Sunday morning class during opening weekend, and it was simply wonderful! Laura was an extremely attentive teacher, providing helpful adjustments and supporting my goals for my practice. The studio is super cute! It has a lovely display of branded props, and mats are set up when you arrive, so it's great to not have to carry my mat along with me. Melissa was very welcoming, and I felt relaxed as soon as I arrived. The studio also gets wonderful natural light, which was perfect for a morning class (right after Daylight Saving Time). It has the intimacy of a boutique studio without losing the welcoming feeling that I always look for in a yoga studio. Love it and can't wait to go back! read more

I love this place! Since becoming pregnant, I have tried out a few studios that offer prenatal classes - Just Like Om is without a doubt, my favorite. They have prenatal offerings multiple days a week. I have tried Prenatal yoga with Shea and Tricia. Both are great but my favorite is the prenatal pilates reformer class with Lindsay. The class is small which allows a lot of personal attention. I feel great after! I am so happy I found this studio and can't wait to try out the regular classes post- pregnancy. read more

I've only taken mat pilates, but it was one of the most challenging mat calluses I've ever taken, so much so, i actually stayed after to talk to the instructor about problems I've been having, and she was very helpful. The location is great and i would absolutely come back. read more

Absolutely love going here for their reformer classes. The staff is great and they keep the space very clean. All of the instructors I've had have been very attentive re: form and modifications. Classes are intimate (6 reformers) and always challenging. Cannot recommend Just Like Om more! read more

Front desk staff has thrown me off both times I've been here, as other reviewers have mentioned. However, Samantha and Erin both taught perfectly challenging classes. I also love what they've done to the space. It's small, but clean and bright. Elevator is pretty slow, so try to plan ahead. read more

I came to New York to visit and my girlfriend told me about this place. I had never done Pilates before and it was amazing! I'm hooked! I come often for work and now this will be my place when I'm here. The instructor was super helpful and helping me achieve the right positions for the best work out. I usually go to Yogaworks SoHo when I'm in NYC from LA but just found out they are closing at the end of the month. :( I was bummed but am now looking forward to visiting Just Like Om the next time I'm in town. I have taken several yoga classes from Stacy Leung and Melissa Green. My balance and flexibility was very questionable going in, and after several classes, I feel like a natural. The instructors are great at what they do and are super friendly. Wether you are an expert or just starting out, I highly recommend taking classes with Melissa or Stacy. read more

I have shown up to Just Like Om for scheduled classes that I'd registered for and been told the class was cancelled due to "instructor emergency." As compensation I was offered a make up class. When I showed up for that class (confirmed via email) I was told the class had been cancelled weeks ago but no one bothered to tell me. When I contacted the owner, Melissa Green, she sort of apologized but mostly blamed her staff for things she was "not aware of." After I asked for some kind of compensation she simply stopped responding to my emails. There are plenty of places to do yoga and pilates in the city - don't do it here! read more

I attended the Yin Yoga class taught by Karina with my boyfriend during the opening weekend, and the experience was top notch! Upon arrival, we were welcome by the studio with a myriad of snacks and drinks. I have been practicing yoga for over two and half years, moving from more active cardio yoga to slower but more meditative yoga, so I'm always looking for a great Yin Yoga instructor. Luckily, Karina is everything I need for a Yin Yoga instructor. Her temperament and voice was so soothing and meditative that it made me really immerse in the "me time" during the session, and her practice was beginner-friendly, accessible yet fulfilling. My boyfriend who came with a migraine headache told me his headache was mitigated after an hour Yin Yoga with Karina. How amazing!! I will definitely come back and recommend anyone who's looking for a meditative and deep relaxing Yin Yoga experience with Karina. read more

Went for one of their opening night yoga classes yesterday and loved it! The owner is incredibly nice and the space is really beautiful. I can tell it would be even prettier in the daylight with the way the light could come in through the big windows. Lindsey taught my class and was really thoughtful about offering modifications and making sure everyone could perform to the best of their ability. Only downside is the bathrooms are outside of the studio, so need to take a very short walk down the hall to use the restroom or change. Overall, a beautiful oasis for yoga in Chelsea! read more
