With two…read morefood truck options--burgers (always a solid standby) or Middle Eastern fusion--we decided to go for the more adventurous choice. Best decision of the day. Even with the huge crowd, Traveling J's was running like a well-oiled machine. Two people--just a chef and a cashier--were absolutely cranking out orders while still keeping the line moving fast. Impressive! We narrowed our choices down to two items to split - Gourmet Grilled Cheese + Garlic Cilantro Fries (upgrade) and Hummus with carrots & cucumbers. Add two cold drinks and our total came to $28.62. Not bad considering the generous portions. When we opened our to-go boxes, we were seriously impressed. The hummus was smooth and creamy, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with spices. The fries were crispy (not soggy!) with just the right kick of garlic and cilantro. And the grilled cheese? Perfectly toasted, melty, and stuffed with sweet, crispy bacon. Cheese was oozing, bread was golden, and it was everything a grilled cheese should be--and then some. The portions were more than enough for two hungry adults, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I even made sure to compliment the chef--he looked like he'd been hustling nonstop to keep up with the crowd, and it showed in the quality. Next time, I've got my eye on their fried Halloumi cheese. It looked AMAZING coming out of that truck. Bottom line: Fresh, flavorful, filling, and run by a hardworking duo who know what they're doing. Traveling J's is officially on my "must-eat-again" list.

When we visited Lancaster, we had to stop by Chellas Arepa Kitchen, and it absolutely lived up to…read morethe hype. The food is a delicious mix of Peruvian and Venezuelan flavors, and you can really taste the freshness and quality in every bite. Their arepas are crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with flavorful fillings. Everything felt comforting yet unique at the same time. One thing I really appreciated is that the entire menu is 100% gluten free, but honestly, you wouldn' even notice because the food is just that good. Also, don't be deceived if the food doesn't look super "picture perfect" online or in photos (or at least my photos lol). It may not be the most photogenic food, but it's sooo worth it! I actually ordered almost everything on the menu because I had no idea when I'd be back in Lancaster again . My favorite was the fried rice with chicken and plantains, so flavorful and satisfying! My husband's favorite was the Lomo Saltado Bowl and Pernil Arepa. We also loved the yuca fries, which were perfectly crispy without being overly greasy. The only thing that disappointed me a little was the Esquites. It just didn't stand out and probably wouldn't order it again. Parking is limited and there's outdoor seating only.

Fire pit burning , Latin music blasting , people laughing and talking , the smell of meats and spices filled the air . My boyfriend had the Chicken Lomo Arepa which was delicious grilled chicken, yuca , tomatoes and onions . Also delicious !! We also ordered the white rice and black beans and the Grandma Chellas fried rice packed with eggs , plantains and red onions. Loved the fried rice and its unique flavors . Chellas Arepa should definitely be on your list of places to try in Lancaster . The delicious foods , outside dining atmosphere, music and friendly staff all combine to make it one heck of an experience . Since it's literally only 5 minutes away we're definitely going back soon . Thank you Chellas Arepa !!

Me being the procrastinator that I am, I didn't leave work early enough, so I had to rush to get to…read morework on time. This means I didn't pack a lunch and I had to find something fast. My uncle used to be a resident in the Lancaster area, so I went to a place called Prince of Subs, which is known for their chicken wings and, of course, their subs--that's why it's in their name! When I arrived at Prince of Subs it was 11:30 PM at night and I asked for an order of 6 wings, but the guy said, "Let me check." I was surprised because it's a bar and they close at 1:30 in the morning, and of course, greasy food is the best thing to eat when you're drinking. Well, luckily they had six wings left. I asked for some fries and he said they ran out of fries. Me personally, I love some wings and fries. Can't forget about fish and chips, but that's more of a Dublin thing! I don't understand how a chicken spot bar that closes at 1:30 AM doesn't have fries ready, but that's just a story for another day. Because of that, I had to go to a second spot on my way to work. It was a food truck on the side of the road. It had lights so you could still see it, but it was kind of hidden. Come to find out, it's a hidden gem! I got some Dominican loaded fries which had shredded chicken, a bunch of different sauces, some peppers, and of course, fries. I was glad that I made this stop, but I pulled out my cash and I only had a $100 bill on me because it was Friday, it was payday, and I had cashed my check. The guy didn't have change, and so all I had was nine dollars in my pocket besides that one bill. I told him I would come back tomorrow evening. He had a surprised look on his face, but I said, "I work right down the road and I promise you I'll be back before I start work." He trusted me. I gave him my nine dollars and he said okay and gave me my food. As I walked away, it gave me a little bit more faith in humanity. It's amazing how someone that never even knew me, and never saw me before, actually trusted me to come back and give them cash to pay for my food. I did go there the next day and it was a warm welcome, of course. I paid him what I owed him with a little bit extra, only because he had faith in me coming back. I highly recommend this place! Being a truck driver, you always find good food spots along the road, and sometimes you find out if the food is really good or bad while you're going down the road, if you catch my drift. This place is very good; the food settled very well and I definitely give it a hard 4.5 out of 5, only because you cannot see the truck from the road. I hope my review helps you make your decision onto whether you want to eat at this location or not. I hope a college student sees this review as well, because it is right around the corner from Thaddeus Stevens! Branden-Lee AKA B L E E

The Dominican burger, as it's called, was just enough to whet my appetite ( no sides needed ), and I wouldn't ask the chef to change a thing. The ratio of bread to meat to sauce was properly balanced. I appreciate that he used thinly shredded red onions and lettuce in the sauce. Muy muy bueno! I have to admit that I was bugging out a little when I realized that the food truck is diagonal to the Lancaster County prison. I wasn't aware of that beforehand because I wasn't familiar with the area, and I didn't think about making a preorder for pickup. I was just trying to find some highly rated ethnic food on Yelp and just happened to stumble upon this listing. I was out there waiting for my food at 11pm for like 20 minutes. I wasn't scared or threatened... it was just a tad weird. the whole time I sat out in the park across the street from the cart I kept looking over my shoulder. The neighborhood Papi's were out there in full effect getting their late night grub. I also wished that the prices were listed on the menu. Someone posted a picture of the menu 4 years ago and chimis costed $5 each back then, but I paid $10 per Chimi. That's a helluva markup over a short span of time. On the bright side they do take cards unlike some other food trucks.
