    Poboy and gumbo
    Darian C.

Their crawfish was pretty good, it was seasoned well and when we went it was $10 per pound. I didn't enjoy the Poboy as much, it was a bit expensive and it didn't really taste special. The service was great, we had a table for 13 and they were able to get our orders and food out quick which was nice. The staff were friendly and the store was clean.

Tonight the place was packed and very noisy. Our waitress did an excellent job under difficult circumstances. We enjoyed grilled fish which was the Thursday night, special, and gumbo, and étouffée.

The food was amazing and the managerial staff and/or owner was very personable. Ordered the fried oysters and shrimp then substituted the fries for onion rings. The temperature was perfect. The seats and tables were clean. Sports was displaying on the televisions. A grand spot to stop in.

You don't have to leave Houston to get authentic Cajun food this place is great complete with zideco music

The cup of seafood gumbo and half of a fried crawfish/mudbug combo was very tasty. My wife liked her crawfish etouffee but thought my gumbo was slightly better. We shared and enjoyed the boudin eggrolls....first time we've had these and they were amazing.

    Seafood Gumbo

Dropped in for lunch. Wife had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo, which she described as tasty. I had the Shrimp Brochette and the Seafood Gumbo. The Shrimp Brochette was unremarkable, but the remoulade really made the dish. Let's talk about the gumbo. We'll, if you want to call it that. It was way overcooked. The veggies that could be recognized, were so overcooked that they turned to mush in the mouth and were flavorless. There was heat as an aftertaste, as if seeking validation through being spicy. I really could not finish this as it was simply unpalatable. Oh, and no okra. Hello!!! I simply would not recommend this place and a three is being very generous. I won't be back.

Always love this place during crawfish season. Best prices, service and flavour! I come here with my best friend every year and we have 9 pounds of crawfish each!

    Seafood boil and boudin

I ordered a seafood boil through Uber Eats and it was absolutely disgusting. The seafood tasted old and was completely overcooked, rubbery, and inedible. I also ordered boudin, and it was just as bad: flavorless, dry, and honestly just gross. I couldn't even finish the meal. To make matters worse, Uber Eats refused to give me a refund despite the poor quality of the food. Extremely disappointing experience all around. Save your money! Reply to the "owner": It's not about how long the food sat in the Uber driver's car, the issue is the flavor. As someone whose mother is from Southwest Louisiana, I know what Cajun food is supposed to taste like, and this wasn't it. The food was nasty, overcooked, and flavorless, POINT BLANK PERIOD!!!! You saying "NOT ONE COMPLAINT" like everyone has the same taste buds is ridiculous. Just because others didn't speak up doesn't mean I'm wrong for doing so. And calling a paying customer "lazy" and "ignorant" just because they didn't like your food? That says everything about you as a business owner. With that attitude, I truly hope this review helps potential customers think twice. I'll be posting my review on every platform possible, and I will dispute the charge with my bank using your nasty response as evidence.

The outside is a bit tacky, but I love it! The inside reminds me of being in Baton Rouge, complete with Zydeco playing. The food was great. I had blackened shrimp with dirty rice, boudin egg rolls, and chargrilled oysters. Hands down the oysters were the best on my tray. I can't speak to the service, as there was none. You order at the counter, they call your number when the food is ready. The folks taking orders were friendly and provided recommendations. Seemed like great service to me.

The food is good. The service is fast. A lil bit pricey. But it worthy. Dont get distracted with the can soda. Cuz they have a fountain drink

The Atmosphere give Lousiana Cajun vibes with memorabilia from different Colleges and High Schools. There is an Oyster bar and regular resturant opposite of it. Once you go in and place your order, everything else is pretty much self serve. You get your drink, utensils, and condiments. When your food is ready you have to go to counter to get it. The food is amazing and makes it all worth it.

I ate at Norigami Tuesday night and it was great as were the cocktails served up at the nextdoor bar called Hidden Bar. On Tuesday, I tried the Thai Chili Ginger Margarita ($13) and it was great, complete with a hunk of candied ginger which I "gingerly" consumed throughout my drink experience...see what I did there? Next, I had the Three Dots and a Daiquiri ($13) with Rum, Lime, Velvet Falernum, All Spice and Pineapple and it was very similar to one of my favorite tiki drinks, the Three Dots and a Dash, complete with 3 luxardo cherries. To finish, I had the absolutely incredible Golden Laurel ($16) with Gin, Italicus Bergamot, House Greek Botanical Bitters and Sea Salt. It is equally beautiful served with a clear bay leaf and delicious. Last night, I was guided by the friendly bartender to try the Et Tu Banana" ($15) with Banana Bourbon, Spiced Pear, Creme de Banane, Campari and Citric Acid. I was a little worried about the cocktail being overly banana-y but it wasn't at all. It was a fantastic drink. So we walked on over to this little speakeasy and were immediately greeted by the bouncer. On a Thursday night, it was quite crowded, but were able to find the last remaining seats at the bar. We were seated at the left end of the bar, which was nice because we had our own little "nook" away from the rest of the bar. Adjacent to us was the server station - the one server tending to the tables, Marilyn, frequently came by and we immediately befriended her. She gave us excellent recommendations and provided her opinion on several drinks. Robin was the bartender who took care of us throughout the night. She was super friendly from the moment we sat down and gave us stellar recommendations on food and drinks. She was happy to tweak a couple of their seasonal drinks to our liking, and even offered to mix other drinks that weren't on the menu. Fantastic service from Robin throughout the night. I started out with Tommy's Margarita - this was just their take on a classic margarita, nothing super special. I then ordered the Oaxacan Old Fashioned - think of an old fashioned made with tequila and mezcal in lieu of bourbon. I was a bit cautious about this one since I am not a fan of mezcal, however the smoky flavor was not very apparent in this one, which was a huge plus! I also got the Ardilla - very unique drink made with mexican corn whiskey, cocoa nibs, sherry, and a milk punch. I award this drink for most unique I've had in a while, definitely give it a try if you're up for something new. To finish, I had the Cariña - their take on an espresso martini made with reposado tequila. I really liked this espresso martini - it was a great way to finish out the night and I left feeling inspired to make my espresso martinis at home using tequila now! With the little room we had left in our stomachs, we tried the Pato Tinga Memela, which was duck leg (no bone) with beans and onions and cilantro atop a memela. I haven't had memela specifically per se, but consider me a fan. It is basically a mini "cake" of masa that is pan fried to a slight crispiness. An Oaxacan speciality, where else can I find these in Houston!? We also tried the Guacamole y Tostadas. The guacamole was unique in the sense that it was Oaxacan style, so contains pepitas, pickled onions, and queso fresco. The tostadas were super crispy and reminded me of how they serve guacamole in Mexico (rather than with chips/totopos). Fun fact is that this bar is owned by Goode Company. Next door to this is Goode Co. Cantina, so it's nice that they created an adjoining restaurant + speakeasy concept within the same strip. At one point in our visit, Levi Goode was standing next to us. We didn't know until after he left and Marilyn informed us, that that was THE man. Just doing a casual check-in of his bar. We really had a good experience at Bar Buena and look forward to returning. The food menu has quite a few offerings I wanted to try had I not come from a cooking class. We were also told that the seasonal drink menu was set to change shortly after our visit, so I look forward to trying these drinks!
