Came here with my niece and nephews on a weekday in July. Good: the rides were all fun and while earlier in the afternoon there were some long lines, after about 3pm the lines felt much more manageable. We had a blast basically riding every ride within 5 hours. Cyclone was my favorite. The staff was all really polite and helpful. Bad: we rented a cabana and the service was incredibly slow. Not sure why but it took almost 30 min to get our first round of drinks. That's valuable time to be enjoying the rides. The lazy river was also a bit of a disappointment since you have to grab a floatie from someone and there isn't any really organization to it at all. We still had a really fun time though and the kids loved it. read more

Saturday August 29th we've rented a cabana; pretty pricey at $410 for a "VIP" cabana. The website states that we're to receive a personal attendant that will come and check on your group every 30 minutes. That is FALSE ADVERTISING" the attendant comes every hour or more. Another advertisement that the service is cashless! When we think cashless it's tap and pay but according to them the WiFi does not reach the cabana area! We've been coming to Raging Waves every summer for several years, both under the previous owners and now under the new management, and I have to say, I'm incredibly disappointed this time around. We always rent a cabana during our visits. In the past, when we paid $250, we were greeted with a nice welcome: an ice bucket filled with cold bottled water and a fresh fruit plate. It was a thoughtful touch that made the cost feel justified. Unfortunately, that hospitality has completely disappeared under the new management. We arrived bright and early this morning, having skipped breakfast because we assumed the welcome amenities would still be part of the experience. On the hottest day of the year, we were shocked to find no cold water, no fruit plate, nothing. And to make matters worse, you're not allowed to bring in any outside food or drink, meaning we were stuck paying $3.99 per bottle of water. For a $250 cabana, that just feels unacceptable. To be clear, the staff was friendly and the park was clean. But the overall value has dropped significantly with the removal of these simple but important amenities. I've rented cabanas at many other water parks, and Raging Waves is now the only one that doesn't include anything extra for the price. Please do better, Raging Waves. Nice water park, there are lots of lockers and seating. Some tube slides have weight limits and two tall adults were too heavy for so that was a bummer. Though there was plenty more to do. The lazy river is really big and while I went on a less busy day, the lines weren't too long and they were staffed well. Lots of unsupervised and children though. Fairly clean bathrooms and many of them. Cabanas are pricey but for a larger group they have great locations and sizes. The wave pool is small but strong. The best ride was the Mat Dash! We bought season passes after a successful visit. They only allow clear or mesh bags!! read more

Park was amazing but the Boomerang Grill is a food court from Valhall. The food is too greasy, the fries are too salty and my burger took nearly 30 mins to come out. We tried to have lunch at the hungry crock four people for meals and $50 later, we got one meal at a time approximately five minutes apart. nothing in the order was correct. The ketchup was empty, which took them 15 minutes to fill. It took an hour to get all of our food and eat cold food. Terrible management nobody knows what they're doing. We actually had another customer bring us one of our entrées and she helped push them to get it because she knew how long we were waiting. This is absolutely ridiculous. We couldn't all eat at the same time for a family lunch. Absolutely horrible. I could go on and on, but I won't. I think I'll go back to going to my local waterpark. read more

Want to spend your day in some kind of line in the 90 degree heat whilst wasting hundreds of dollars? This place is not worth the money, hassle, and time. We will never come back here. Extremely long lines for drinks/food, bathrooms, rides. They force you to eat garbage food for ridiculous prices. We spent most of our day in lines as everything is an over crowded hot mess. Understaffed to say the least & the staff they do have moves at a snail pace. You can't bring even toddler snacks... I'm not going to feed my 1yr old popcorn & lays chips. Get healthy, allergy friendly food if you're not going to let people bring anything. This place is a joke & I will never pay money to come here. WORST PLACE EVER. It's ok. The park part is fine. But it's the lines at concessions that ruin the experience. You WILL spend your whole day waiting in concession lines if you plan on eating/drinking park concessions. As a whole, this waterpark is pretty good. I like the wide selection of rides. It's not a small waterpark. They have increased the parking, which is good. The downside is that it is almost constantly busy during the summer months, even on weekdays. You would think that there would be less people on Mon - Thurs, but nope. I guess people don't like to work. Current admission is $32.99 online only for any day tickets. Usually, after 3 pm you can pay even less. Be sure to look that up. Food - yeah you can't expect much. If you have high expectations for waterpark food, then I don't know what to say. Favorite rides are Crocodile Mile, Boomerang, Tasmanian Twisters, PJ's Plummet, and Cyclone. I didn't get a chance to try Wild Wallabies, Aussie Mat Dash, and Wonambi. Great Barrier Reef and Kookaburra Kreek are great if you don't want too much excitement. I forgot how much they charge for parking. Pro tip: bring sandals or water shoes to wear when walking around the park. Your feet will thank you when it's scorching hot in the summer. This is the WORST waterpark I've ever been to in my whole entire life, do NOT waste your time or money coming here, shit was total ass!! 1. The employees were super lazy and were not helping any of the customers 2. The wave pool was way too overcrowded and no one was there to regulate anything. There were literally folks diving underwater UNDERNEATH us which is super unsafe and none of the employees were stopping them 3. I lost count of the number of people who were just nonchalantly cutting the lines 4. Apparently they claim we needed "modest swimwear" which seems a bit sexist to me because if we're going in the water anyway, why does my bikini need to be "modest"?? We're at a waterpark and also I'm shapely, so my butt's gonna show whether they like it or not lol... also I'm grown, why are they trying to tell grown adults what to wear? 5. They had about a million and 5 ridiculous rules. Homeboy turned us around and said we can't bring our bag in because it's not clear. Why does the bag need to be clear?? Just check the damn bags. And the one little bag he did allow us to bring in, he didn't even look inside it at all, like... what if I was carrying a small gun?? Six flags would never.... 6. We went back to the parking lot to eat our snacks that we brought from home because there was no way in hell I was about to pay for that overpriced ass food, and this guy at the gate told us we only have 45 mins to eat and need to be back by 5??? When the place doesn't close until 7??? I was like, sir what?!?!!? You're giving us a curfew for when we need to be back?? Literally felt like we were being treated like children at school... 7. So at this point, we're just completely turned off by now and we just went back in to take some more cute selfies and then left... 8. I bought the pass for the entire summer... what they dont tell you is that once it turns August all those days that said open at time of purchase will then be gone, they say that majority of their employees are students so they have no employees to work... so save your money and dont get the most expensive pass... i was unable to go at all in aug or September and they dont tell you this before purchasing. read more

The water park rides and the grounds are top notch. Unfortunately, the food quality nose-dived in 2025 over the 2024 season year. Season Passes make the most sense but the prices for food, drinks and snacks are astronomical while quality deteriorated. This should be a 5 star place for what they charge but unfortunately they DO NOT deliver to that level of quality. Horrible and disappointing experience. I got injured on the ride cyclone which was very painful. Although I held onto the float, my body flew out of the ride and I had to complete the ride with my hands grasping on the handles with my body following behind. I finished the ride head first and the life guard at the end did not check to see if I was okay. When I brought it to the attention of other staff members no one seemed apologetic or concerned. I bruised both my arms and cut my elbow. I've been to many water parks before and have gone on lots of slides and have never experienced falling out. Gone here in the past and had a good time, would not go back. All starts with how much you have to pay to park your vehicle, $20 is absolutely ridiculous with the lot they have. You want to charge for up close parking, FINE, but for normal. Next comes with their stupid bag policy, I saw ppl getting let in with sealed dark bags but I had 1 light open bag and was told I could be let in with it. Asked why others were and was told they claimed them as diaper bags, they had NO babies or diapered kids with them!!!! My guess is all so they could collect another $15 from ppl for their stupid lockers. * The wave pool does not go into wave mode as much as it used to, you have to wait way too long. * You order food, and you have to go back to get the items that you actually ordered in the manner you ordered them. This happened to several ppl in front and behind us. * Some of the ride workers were good and were keeping the lines moving, others not so much. Had to stand in line on 1 ride, for 10 minutes watching a child sitting there on the drop of the ride crying, mother (or female with the child) was standing there talking. The ride worker could have talked to the older female and the tell the child to get out of the way and discuss it elsewhere. * Lazy river had an adult with his kids/family that was tipping over the floats they were sitting in, slapping and splashing the water. Basically just playing and annoying those around them, who were just in the river to float around not get bumped and things thrown at them. The lifeguards were not saying anything. * Some of the food costs were way to much, smallest dipping dots were $10? you go to great america and they are cheaper. * They do not have enough tubes for the rides, the rides did not have a huge amount of ppl in the line but they did have more ppl standing by the end of the ride to grab a tube. * Noticed a few tubes that got blown or tossed over the fence and were just sitting there, park officials could have sent someone to go capture those items. * Nice that they did have a sand volleyball court, bad thing about it was that it was loaded with weeds, tall weeds. So that tells me no one takes care of it. * They post dress code, meaning make sure you have decent swimming apparel. No in in the park keeping up with that rule. Noticed several females with thong type bathing suits, really. Sorry not acceptable. Hopefully they can turn this around, but not sure they will. I had a great time at Raging Waves! It was the most hygienic water park I've been to. The logistics of parking and using the lockers were straightforward. I liked the variety of tube rides and cleanliness of the park and equipment. All the tubes were inflated well and the lifeguards were nice (many asked if we enjoyed the ride). I got tickets during the Easter promotion so it was only $25 per ticket, and could be used any day during open season. The tickets say you need to physically print them out, but you can also just show the tickets on your phone. Make sure you bring a clear or mesh bag for your items. Parking is $10 and wasn't a problem even though I got it for the wrong day. There were many tube rides, including multiple tube rides for groups of 2-4 people, so it was perfect for our group of 3. Many rides were two-seaters but there's no problem going down solo. What I liked most about the park was that you don't need to walk very far from one ride to the next, it overall felt pretty compact without being crowded. The locker system was very user-friendly: the 3 of us shared a large locker and the self-serve kiosk printed out a wristband for each of us to wear. There were no issues getting in and out of our locker. There's a spigot labeled "filtered water" for refilling water bottles near the gift shop. The food is pretty standard fare for a theme park - chicken tenders, fries, burgers, etc. The hamburger with bacon for an extra dollar was nice but had absolutely no vegetables. It was nice that they sell Dole whip/soft serve right at the front near the lockers. They had pineapple, vanilla, and chocolate soft serve which was a great way to end the day. They had strawberry on the menu but they were out of it. My specific experience was 5/5 since it wasn't too crowded or too hot, and I got a great deal at 50% off. If I had to pay full price I would still give it 4/5. Please see the note below regarding weather. **NOTE: On the day we came there was a 30% chance of scattered thunderstorms around 3PM. We had planned to go on this day, which was the day before Labor Day. I was concerned with going to a water park while there's thunder and lightning, but then I read the website which said 30% chance of storm means 70% chance of it being totally fine. I liked those odds, and it turned out to be a perfect overcast day. The forecast must have deterred people from coming because the lines were really not that bad. I think if it actually does start thundering, they will shut the park down for safety concerns. Do check the weather forecast before you come, and weigh the risks and benefits if there is a chance of a thunderstorm. I was having a great time until I went to Boomerang Grill. I am so beyond put off by my experience. The young man with dark hair was so rude. Didn't say can I help you or hello. Simply banged on the counter to get my attention. Yelled at me when I asked for a turkey wrap, saying "we don't have wraps!!!" (It's on the menu..). We are season pass holders and it's worth the money if you go. It's frustrating that you cannot bring in outside food, and their food services do not open until 12 or even 2!! As pass holders , we often only go a couple hours at a time and the ice cream shop isn't even available. The line length to get in and for slides are hit and miss, and I notice so many free passes and printed promotions while we wait in line. The wave pool is the biggest hit with my two boys. Please don't waste your money at this place for these reasons: 1. The slides aren't the best, but they are still cool. However, the wait time for a single ride is ridiculous. The line for a water slide called the Boomerang was longer than the staircase leading to it. For the Aussie Mat Dash, Cyclone and Platypus Plunge slides, not only were there long lines for the slide, there were long lines to get a mat/tube to go down them. Not even the smaller rides had short lines. It was shorter, but it doesn't mean it was short. 2. The attractions besides the slides were also bad. The wave pool was okay, however it was literal claustrophobia because of how many people there were. The bottom of the pool also felt like a popcorn ceiling, if it was made out of concrete. Pretty much, it was really easy to scrape yourself badly. The lazy river wasn't any better. Still jam packed, also concrete popcorn ceiling floors but the other thing is the depth. If you are not able to get a free tube or rent the 45 dollar one, you can only walk through it or swim. Walking hurts the bottom of your feet, and you pretty much can't swim because the deepest it got was like 3 feet. 3. They have the highest prices I have ever seen! Like I get it's an amusement park, but 17 dollars for a hamburger, fries and drink?? And no, the hamburger is just bun and patty, not with any vegetables. Also, they don't give lids for the non-refillable drinks, making them almost impossible to take home. And if you ended up purchasing the 17 dollar meal, you might as well go get a cup of mini melts the size of 1/4 cup for 6 dollars. And did I mention they don't take cash at all? Overall, this is a bad park to come to. I would much rather go to Wisconsin dells to like Mt. Olympus or Kalahari water park instead of this one, mainly because I don't have to wait 1 or more hours for a slide that lasts 15 seconds. read more

Tips for newbies: 1. Buy return tickets so you can come back and then bring food so you can have a picnic outside of the water park so you don't have to pay for over priced food. 2. Bring wet shoes so you feet don't hurt but walking on cement and up the stairs 3. On 2+ people rides they have a weight limit of 700-800 4. After 1:00 o'clock be ready for long lines 5. I completely understand short staffing, but Raging Waves doesn't communicate at all when they're closing down attractions. We booked a cabana right on the lazy river and it's closed for the day. We found that out by getting to the front of the line and seeing a tiny sign mentioning that, so we asked to confirm. Someone else in line said they are closing the lazy river on weekdays, but they didn't announce that at all. We would not have booked a cabana or happily taken an offer to move to a day the river was open if they communicated that. read more

So you either lose lots of time traipsing back to car over lava hot blacktop OR spend lots of $$ and lose lots of time waiting in line for mediocre food for lunch. We bought premium season passes only to find out it is horrible. It's dangerous, overcrowded and the staff really don't want to help. The advertising is a lie. They span the camera for a larger view. It is a extremely small Waterpark. The amount of people they allow in the park at anytime is dangerous. I watched children go under the water in the wave pool due to overcrowding. There is no way the lifeguard could see to save a life with this overcrowding. The lazy river was standing room only. But the most disgusting part was the human feces all along the shore of the wave pool. The food for 2 child and 2 adults came to $60 with there gracious 15% discount. I would like to thank them for the food poisoning. As for bathing attire, I have never seen so many bottoms or tops hanging out, it is a rated X movie there. Raging Waters please don't use your faith and christianity to sell tickets,it is wrong. Let's talk about the weed smell, it was everywhere in the park. So if you decide to go to the park you don't need to follow their rules because they don't, all they care about is the money. Pros- Food is much cheaper then there competition with there Gurnee competitor. Also this facility is very clean once inside. Water was not heated but felt perfect and on the cool side. Employees are very nice and helpful. Also 3 slides were closed being there adventure teen adult slides at first but opened around 1:30pm so this was definitely a plus and why I gave them 4 stars. Had a decent amount of shaded areas to throw you're towels down and hold spots. Wave pool was not to overcrowded and everybody seemed to be giving well. My 7 year old kept commenting on how clean the bathrooms were. Lockers were easy to access all day. Easy to leave and renter. Cons: the plastic bag that was mentioned in order to get into park. They stated with even dimensions on size and did not say you could bring you're own. So that was a waste of $10. Also preferred parking $20. We noticed the standard parking was only maybe twice the distance to walk. Could have been better information on there website regarding these questions. Lazy river was not even 2 1/2 ft deep. A lot of the concessions did not open till 2pm. I would say if you're bringing children this is by far Illinois best waterpark. I would also go as far as to say if you value clean facilities and easier to get around the park this is the place. I hope maybe a water coaster is in there near future plans. Good times. read more

not a good day to go they said they were running behind on putting the chairs out so they were not letting people in the wave pool so we ask a lady that was on shift and she said they will let you go in the wave pool at 10:30am they open at 10:00am it was to hot so we went to the lazy river to cool off and by the time we got back in was like 11:00am and we heard that they were not going to let any one in till 1:00pm so we went to go do some other stuff so we came back and I asked them again and this time they said they were not allowed people to go in till 2:00pm now so we decided to leave because by this point we were thinking that they were not going to let any one in all day and what was bad was that there were 4 buses full of kids from a camp and it was super nice outside so ever were was packed it did not hold my family attention for long we weren't there for even 2 hours and we got bored that does not happen when there is the wave pool we can stay all day read more

This park leaves a lot to be desired. The Lazy River is too shallow, so you are left with little option other than sitting on top of tube in the heat. Also, the three tallest slides were closed with few options for adult single riders. The food is good, but expensive. This might be a great place to go if you have small children, but as a teenager or adult, it is lame. read more
