I loved this place as a kid growing up in town and I returned last summer with my kiddos and it was maybe even better than I remember? Absolutely great place for kids to swim and play and mom to soak up some vitamin D. I was there with kiddos of all ages and felt like there was something for everyone! My two year old played in the sand (tho there were some hornets to watch out for over there) and went in and out of the zero entry area with his little toy 300 times. My older son (6) went down the water slides also 300 times. Even when they are super busy you can usually find a chair or just put your stuff on the back lawn. If you want a chair make sure to get there early! Yes I love it here since this is a well organized place and clean the staff very friendly and helpful the life guards are so well trained and are always looking for safety. I enjoy driving very far just to swim laps and also just to chill out in the summer heat I highly recommend this place for all the family to come and have a good time read more

The positives, a very large clean pool with lots of different areas for various age groups. The negatives, expensive admittance fees and food prices. No outside food or drinks are allowed. The pool water is cold. Worse, the showers are ice cold, making it impossible to shower before leaving the pool. The machine to extract water from bathing suits, more often than not, does not work. read more

We live walking distance from Rice Pool and our family has been going there for over 30 years. Swimming lessons for the kids are great, zero depth is perfect for the little ones or teens who like to sunbathe, water park is wonderful, plenty of lounge seating for the adults. We are empty nesters now and still go there to relax, swim, and sun! It's like a resort rather than a community pool! read more

this park was ok but the water was very very cold when l got in and on top of that l lost my hair tie and the pool with cloren smelled awfull but it was ok over all but the lifeguards were kinda mean and rude never coming here again unless l feel like it read more

This is one of the Wheaton Park District's pools. It's located near Naperville and Butterfield Roads. This is a big facility with a sand volleyball court, a sand pit, 3 water slides, a diving board, concession stand and a waterfall. Admission price isn't bad if you are a Wheaton resident, but I consider it pricey for non residents. At the writing of this review, it's $7.75 for a child and $12.50 for an adult. The toddler area here is not as good as the one at their other pool in Northside Park. The toddler area has a waterfall, some shallow water and some sprinkler type things that kids and walk around in. There are NO chairs for the adults to sit in, you just have to stand there. You never see toddlers in this area either, they are mostly at the short part of the zero depth pool with moms nearby. Besides the toddler area, I am also not a big fan of the lifeguards. Yes, they do their job, but we call these the Nazi lifeguards. No noodles or diving sticks here! There are also some strict rules on the water slides, no goggles (what's that about) and you really have to wait a long time for the person in front of you to almost exit the water before you go. You can still have a great time here on a hot sunny day, just bring lots of money to get in and no diving sticks! read more

Check the per punch cost of buying a punch card. I found it not to be a good deal resident-kids. Adults and non-residents save a little.

I've been wanting to come to Rice Pool ever since moving to Wheaton. From the outside (what little you can see) it looked pretty big, so I figured it was worth checking out at least once. What you need to know *They don't take American Express or Discover. Cash, Visa or Mastercard are the only accepted payments *In order to qualify for the Wheaton resident rate, you have to go to the Park District to get a resident card. I don't have one yet, so I had to pay the non-resident rate. Ouch. *The parking lot may look packed, but the pool is pretty big and it didn't feel overcrowded. *Come after 5 PM for the Twilight Rate for 50% (they close at 8 during the summer months) *The pool goes up to 15 feet. There are two small diving boards and one large one. The large diving board closes at 4 PM. *They announced the concession stand was closing at 6 PM. No outside food or drink allowed, so come prepared with this tidbit of info. *Lockers cost a quarter *You can download an app or check out their website to make sure they're open or if the weather has forced them to close. This is helpful since we've had a crazy rainy summer so far. In regards to the previous reviews, I didn't hear the lifeguards blow their whistle or shout at any kids once. Either I was here with a bunch of rule followers or they aren't really that strict. With the Twilight rate, it still cost me approx $7 to get in. In the grand scheme of things, that isn't too bad for a fun evening at the pool. I'll definitely be going to get my resident card so I can come back for $4.50 after 5 PM. read more

Is this the real Yelp page for Rice Pool? The low count of reviews suggest otherwise, but I might as well post my review here to help you out. I'll start by responding to the TWO reviews. First of all, it's a pool. If you aren't familiar with pool rules then you haven't been to many pools. Yes, certain pool toys are not allowed, here. And yes, you cannot have the same kind of fun in this pool as you would in your buddy's pool (throw the kids up in the air and stuff.) I've also felt annoyed by the life guards when they enforced these rules, but once I learned what the rules were, I just didn't break them again. And if your kid cries when an authority figure tells them to not do something, well, then your kid is sensitive and they will grow out of it, eventually. It's not the 18 year old lifeguard's job to worry about your kid's feelings. They are there to enforce rules and save their life, if they have to. You should be thankful that the lifeguards are watching things closely. As far as the "no goggles on the water slides", I agree with this policy. I once bruised a rib on the Tornado. The water slides are serious at this place, and hitting your face against the slide (albeit unlikely) could be a lot worse when you have "glasses" on. You should feel happy that you have access to some pretty crazy water slides. I always warn my friends that the water slides will jostle you around pretty good. Only go max speed once you have gone on it once or twice. The toddler area is OK. It's often busy with kids. The mushroom sprinkler or whatever is OK and small kids like the area. The waterfall is actually pretty intense. It serves as a back massage machine when you stand under there with the water beating on your back. Go in there and you'll see what I mean. So yeah... Rice Pool is a pool. It has a nice zero depth entry that everyone loves. It has some intense water slides that some people love. It has a decent toddler area that is fun for most adults as well. Very nice pool, plenty of areas to swim, very kid friendly, really fun water slides. Nothing bad to say about this place at all!

WOW this place is awesome. Go after 5 to avoid the long lines. Jumping off the diving board is a blast and riding the tornado is like being caught in a tornado in itself. If you know anyone who works admissions then that's a bonus, just make sure you don't bring your torpedo to the pool the lifeguards will bark at you woof woof read more

Folks, it's not the life guards that don't allow the toys in the pool, it's always been the policy set by the park district. They are only there to enforce the rules! I've been going to that pool for the entire 25 years it's been open, and I really like it! read more
