What a hidden gem in downtown Pittsburgh! Meat & Potatoes is a stunning fine dining restaurant with…read morea beautiful atmosphere and exceptional service. The food was absolutely 10/10 from start to finish. We ordered the Tomahawk steak, which was massive and easily enough to share between 3-4 people. The marble potatoes and carrots were the perfect accompaniments and complemented the steak beautifully. To drink, we enjoyed the Hibiscus Berry and Dreamlife mocktails, both of which were refreshing and thoughtfully crafted. One thing to note for visitors from out of state: there are a few additional fees beyond the listed menu prices and tax, so the final bill may be higher than expected. That said, the quality of the food, generous portions, and overall experience made it well worth it. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience in Pittsburgh, Meat & Potatoes is definitely worth a visit. Great ambiance, excellent food, and a truly impressive steak make this a spot we'll be talking about long after our meal.

I liked the fries that came with it. My wife enjoyed the fried brussels. The service was excellent. She kept a close eye on us without being overbearing. My wife had some questions about the sugar content in some drinks and she was knowledgeable of the drink menu too. If I could complain about anything, and it's the reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was the 3% operating charge added to the bill. It doesn't seem like much but just appears unnecessary. If the prices were raised 3% nobody would bat an eye. Additional charges just leave a bad taste in customers mouths after a good meal.

Who knew you could get things like camel, emu, kangaroo, ostrich, python and many other exotic meats right here in Pittsburgh! They even have them in a variety of options like steaks, patties and ground. They also have a nice selection of jerkeys. I have yet to try any of the more unusual meats, but I've purchased beef and chicken products from them. The quality was high and the items were very tasty when prepared. Service was wonderful. We were greeted promptly even though their was a line and the staff moved efficiently while still taking the time each customer needed. Prices are higher than you would pay at a store like Giant Eagle, but the slightly higher prices are absolutely worth it.

I came in for jerky as a friend recommended, and the staff helped me choose some popular options. Apparently the hot one is the coffee beef jerky. I also grabbed some pepper buffalo, and pepper teriyaki beef. Flavor-wise, this stuff is packed with it, so thumbs up there. This is probably personal preference, but my gripe is that the thinner pieces are so tough it takes forever to chew. It's fatiguing! I guess I'm used to thicker, softer jerky. One other knock is that this place smelled...bad inside. Seems like product quality is fine since it's so popular and well-regarded, but I'd recommend addressing the smell. Maybe that's just what happens after decades or storing and selling meat in an enclosed space?

I greatly regret having to write this review. I contacted Two Brothers Barbeque some time ago to…read morecater my wedding. Initially, I had a wonderful experience. The individual I worked with, Terri, was initially responsive and accommodating and made me feel at ease about booking this business. I put down a deposit in early November. Later in November I reached out for some more information to aid in the planning of my wedding reception. However, I never heard back. I was not unduly concerned because this is a barbeque business and I thought this might be their "off-season". I assumed they would get back to me when they were able. I did not hear back from Two Bothers Barbeque, even when springtime rolled around, so I called them a couple of times. I did not hear back. At this point, I got concerned because our wedding was in only three months. I was eager to speak to them to have some questions answered. My fiancé suggested we drive to the business, so we could connect with them. When we drove to the business, we were rather dismayed to see many signs stating "Business for Sale." There was a phone number on one of the "For Sale" signs, so I called it and said that I had seen their "For Sale" signs and was interested in talking about this. At this time, I did not tell them my name or state that I was a client. I got a return call pretty immediately. When I received the call-back, I explained that I had emailed and called the business without hearing back, and that I was concerned that the business was for sale, as we were counting on them catering our wedding. The gentleman on the phone (the owner, I believe) said they were retiring and were winding down the business, but that they planned to honor all scheduled events. He said he would have Terri call me. I was extremely relieved - but only for a short while. Terri called after several minutes. I explained the situation to her. I told her that I was concerned because I hadn't received a response to my email or phone calls and then saw that the business was for sale. She said that the catering part of the business was for sale, as well as their food trucks, but they would still honor their contracts for the summer. However, she then said she would just refund my money if I was uncomfortable. I was taken aback - I had said nothing about cancelling the contract and was really just nervous about the prospect of the business being sold. I received no kind of apology for the lack of communication. Terri said that she hadn't responded to my email in November because I sent it too close to Thanksgiving and that she never received my phone calls. At some point during this conversation, Terri became quite hostile, raising her voice and becoming accusatory. She blamed me for the lack of contact and did not take responsibility for failing to respond. The situation became truly unsettling; in fact, may I say, deeply shocking. Terri did say that she had some medical concerns, which I do sympathize with. However, I have had a number of medical issues, some of them quite serious, and I have never treated a client this way. Ultimately, I stated that she could cancel the booking and send the refund, which was what she appeared to want to do in the first place. It really seemed like she did not care too much about the business or leaving us in a precarious position of having no caterer for our wedding. I left the phone call truly bewildered and told my fiancé I was sorry and that I had lost the caterer for our wedding. He said, "You shouldn't be sorry. You did absolutely nothing wrong." (He had been listening to this conversation.) We went home and brainstormed new possibilities, and, luckily, found another local business that was more than willing to cater for us. They have been a dream to work with. I know this review probably does not matter because Two Brothers is retiring from catering, but it is important that people be careful when dealing with this company. If you have a current date booked with them, please considering making a back-up plan. I'm not sure this business cares to uphold its promises, nor does it take responsibility for its own actions. Please be prepared for the worst-case scenario.

We made a reservation online, and upon arrival, we were immediately greeted and seated by the very kind young host. There is also a public parking lot next door that offers free parking in the evenings, which made our visit even more convenient. We were seated upstairs, where our waitress took excellent care of us throughout the evening. She was prompt, friendly, and incredibly helpful when answering our questions and making recommendations. After ordering our drinks, which were deliciously crafted, we were served two rolls accompanied by their homemade olive oil dip. I wish I had asked what ingredients were in the dip because it was absolutely phenomenal! For our appetizer, we chose the House Made Meatballs in their Sunday Sauce. The sauce was unlike any other, but had the perfect balance of tangy, salty, and sweet. For dinner, we ordered the Shrimp and Lobster Florentine, Carbonara, and Smoked Gouda Pierogies. Every dish came out quickly, the perfect temperature, and packed with flavor. We truly had nothing negative to say about our experience at DeBlaze at 131. We were hoping to try one, or more, of their homemade desserts, but unfortunately, we were too full. Thankfully, that's just one more reason to come back and enjoy another incredible meal!
