    Chicken Bulgogi and Ramen bowl

Seoul is one of my favorite places. It comes out hot. The flavors are amazing. I love the fresh sides. My favorite is the chicken bulgogi!

Tried this place coming in with high expectations due to the reviews. The restaurant was small with only about 8-10 tables and filled up quickly after opening. The side dishes and the kimchi pancake were the best parts of the meal. The main dishes seemed rushed or just not traditional compared to Korean dishes I've had in the past. What the website advertises is not what we received, but I'm not complaining because it was visually much better than the photos. Not as tasty as what I was expecting.

Bibimbap with included sides to add.

Amazing, flavorful food with very generous helpings. The owner is very personable and took the time to talk with me and my friend. All staff is very helpful and kind, especially when you're not sure what to get. Relatively small, but everyone has enough room as to where you don't feel cramped and it's a welcoming atmosphere. Totally recommend this place if you want authentic, great food.

Truth be told, there really isn't a Korean food scene here in PGH. The new Seoul Korean BBQ and also Golden Pig in Cecil now are the only "south" side locations that offer up this cuisine. Overall service is great and everyone is friendly and helpful. The lady chef also comes out to speak and ask how things are, making sure any feedback is used to improve their offerings and to make future visits more enjoyable for their patrons. Food-wise. Two favorites stand out to me: The bibimbap, a mix of rice, vegetables and your choice of protein in a hot stone sizzling pot topped with a fried egg. The seafood pancake (aka Haemul-Jeon) is a savory mix of seafood that is also placed on a sizzling plate. To top it off, the accompaniments (banchan sides of kimchi, picked radish and cucumbers plus 3 sauces) and the brewed corn tea really round out the meal. I have been back several times and enjoy coming here.

    Kimchi jjigae

Came here on a Wednesday evening in December. The restaurant was super busy, but the employees were working really hard to clear tables as they became available. We didn't have to wait too long for a table for two, maybe 10 mins. I ordered the kimchi jjigae because it was cold and soup sounded good. The soup came out really fast and the bowl was piping hot and filled with so much cabbage. There were a few small pieces of pork but I felt like it was 90% cabbage. The flavor of the broth was amazing and the spice was there. I wish they came by more to fill my water and give more napkins because I finished mine pretty fast, but again, they were really busy. It came with the perfect amount of rice on the side. There were four different banchans and they were all great. Would come back to try a different dish.

The seafood pancake and dinner boxes were delicious and had a great flavor. The kimchi jjigae (heat level 3/10) was much spicier than expected and did not have a traditional jjigae flavor. The service was much slower than other places than I am used to, but that is also why they have reservations and not walk-in.

Mama's house made Gochujang ( spiced red sauce)!
    Linda D.

The BEST Gochujang (spicy red sauce) house made! Be ready for top of your head to sweat deliciousness and tofu (house made) was flash fried (like agedsshi tofu) - melts in your mouth The Bibimap- real Dolsot (stayed hot the whole meal) Green tea or bori-cha is served in restaurants theme colors of black and red painted, iron kettles, with iron cups and saucers again, the difference in keeping the consumable warm- wow! They can make the pancake gluten free, which you can get veg, kimchi or seafood (if you like seafood it's really good) Soups and other delectable traditional dishes were ordered by other diners. Parking is at a premium, advise making a reservation, at least on the weekends, they had to politely turn people away because they were full with reservations, this place is understandably sought after. Take out is another option. Owners are really nice, staff is friendly and helpful. Ambience is modern clean lines lots of red, black and gray with black drawn curtains to create an intimate dining experience. You cash out at the register. Come hungry! The food is fresh and portions generous.

If you have been contemplating trying this place .. just do it! We did and where not disappointed (sorry I did not snap pics of the food but it was all delicious!) The staff is so friendly .. you can tell its family ran. We did have to wait for a table... but def worth waiting for. Off the menu - we got #14,15 and the beef fried rice...all at different heat level. They bring you the sides as shareable as well as the sauces -- teriyaki was my fav! You just have to try it! Support local business at a great restaurant!

The bulgogi beef bento box was ok. The beef had a little bit of flavor. I really liked the cucumber.

We wanted to try something new and I felt like Korean. We looked on Yelp to find a close place on our way home. We decided to try Seoul Korean BBQ since it got good reviews and it was on our way home. I'll start with the positives. The waiter was nice when he took our order and gave us our check. The food runners were very nice. I really liked the bulgogi egg roll. It tasted really good but it was crazy greasy. Now for the stuff that we felt was just ok. My husband had the bulgogi beef fried rice bowl. He liked it and thought it was good beef. I got the bulgogi beef bent box with cucumber and spinach sides. I love bulgogi and wanted to really like it but thought it was just ok. I was not a fan of the chicken Mandi (dumpling). It was sold as a rock and had an odd flavor. I wanted to like it better than I did. Just thought it was ok sadly.

Do it! The restaurant is on the main drag of Carnegie. Parking is on the side or on-street parking. The entrance is on the side of the building. The ambience is small but cozy. The food is amazing. Huge portions. The service was pretty good for a full house. They do ask what your spicy level is 0-10. We will definitely be back again!

There is a reason all the Yelp Elites give 5 Stars. I am not going to repeat them here. If you are looking at this review, plug the address in the GPS and go. You just stumble on a great secret.

Overall really enjoyed this place. I think it is family owned - the owner and his ~10 year old son…read morewere sitting at the front of the restaurant.l at the hosts desk. His son took me to my table. The waitress was attentive and very friendly. I ordered the honey pecan crusted salmon and opted for carrots and broccoli as my side. The waitress brought bread and a garlic/oil dish to dip the bread in. The garlic/oil was so yummy, I could've just ate the bread without any dinner! I was also surprised to see I got a large portion of food when the plate came out! Most places these days you don't get much bang for your buck. The salmon was delicious, and so were the carrots and broccoli. My soda was flat and I asked the waitress about it and she fixed it. I ordered the flourless chocolate torte for dessert and liked that too. I wonder what the ingredients were, because there was a bit of spice to it that I couldn't quite place my finger on. The only improvements I think could be made are the ambience was loud. There was a large party in the dining room next to me and they were a loud family with children running and screaming all over the place (I understand this isn't within the realm of control for the restaurant). That itself wasn't unpleasant, it would just be nice if there was some strategic sound dampening. On their website I had signed up for a $10 coupon that never came in my email (not sure if I'm supposed to wait days for it...?). Another thing I noticed on their website is that they charge $10 for a split plate. I'm assuming this means if you come as two people and decide to order one plate of food but split it, they charge for that. That seems really weird. People shouldn't be charged for splitting their food, if that's what that is. They also charge you a transaction fee for using a credit card. Next time I'm in Pittsburgh I'll be coming back. It was nice to eat something that wasn't a burger and fries, since there are so many of those types of places in Pittsburgh.

Dropped in yesterday around 5:30 and were promptly seated. The restaurant still looks much as it…read moredid when it was another restaurant by name. The service was very good with descriptions of the menu items that allowed us to make informed decisions. The stuffed hot peppers were as good as I have had anywhere. The sausage was spicy the way I like and the portion was enough to be an entree. Will go back just to order this again. There were four of us and everyone was very pleased with the look, taste, and amount of their meals. All of us had take-home which was packaged by our server. DeBlaze at 131 highlights the variety of very good restaurants to be found in Carnegie.
