I have passed by this bagel shop countless times and I finally got the chance to go in. It's located pretty conveniently - right next to the Westfield Train Station parking lot. Although there's a new bagel place that's located closer to the street, next to Manhattan Bagel. I'd like to mention now that I've been in NJ for a year and this is my first time trying bagels from a local spot and not Trader Joe's. I also grabbed some bagels from Pop-up Bagel while I was there to compare. There is a shared parking lot, though there are countless signs for reserved parking for the new bagel place, which I found interesting. The shared parking lot is oddly shaped, but still good that there is one. The shop is unassuming but lived in. It seemed like many in there were regulars. They sell breakfast, brunch, and lunch items. A lovely display section of bagels and an open kitchen. The menu they have displayed up top is... incomplete. And they cycle. I couldn't find a physical menu to study so perhaps my ordered items would have changed if I was more informed. The staff at the front is nice and friendly. Place looks relatively clean. Just to start off with, I got: PLAIN BAGEL: these are large. They have a nice chew but are soft with no crust. I liked these perfectly fine. Each bagel with nothing else is $1.49. EGG-AND-CHEESE on a PLAIN BAGEL: this wasn't an available item on the screen and I wasn't in the mood to ask about alliums (I'm an allium-free vegetarian) so I stuck with a simple combination. This was only $4.99. It's all in the name. A pretty decent sandwich with nothing else added in. It satisfied. Overall, I could see why this is a beloved place. They serve a good breakfast at reasonable prices. They know their regulars by name and they've got a steady stream of customers. It's not fancy but they've got everything - including chairs and tables for those dining in. Many came in to pick up; I'm not sure if they went through a website or an app. Or just called in. Solid spot for fresh bagels, but be sure to check your online orders. I was picking up takeout for an online order and found two sides and pickles were missing (luckily I checked my bag before leaving). The sandwiches are alright, but I found them pretty expensive for what they were. Okay for a lunch in a pinch. First off, the moment I walked in the door, I could instantly tell that this was a welcoming environment for me and my pals. Each worker had a GREAT smile on their face, and I instantly knew that the food would match that level of awesomeness. I was overstimulated and had a minor sensory overload with the amount of different bagels and options on their menu. However, after I ordered a lightly toasted everything bagel without poppy seeds, sesame seeds, dried onion, and garlic, but WITH cream cheese, lox, and tomato, with salt but no pepper, I felt more calm. I started salivating. Then I went to sit down, and I tripped and hit the floor, but, then, they brought my food, and the frown got wiped off my face! Boy! Was that first bite something else. Muy bueno! The texture of the lox, and the juicy tomato balanced out perfectly with the cream cheese. I knew at that moment there wasn't just any ordinary chef back there in the kitchen. Based on some reviews who find this place not too welcoming, I let my husband go in, instead of my cranky self so it wouldn't mar my relationship with their Ranchero Wrap and Big Burrito Breakfast. They were quite similar in taste and filling, but the latter was chubbier and spicier, though I still added a little bit more of the hot sauce. This was a good breakfast, especially if you're in haste. Layers of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese with jalapeño and hash brown! And salsa sauce! The bagel is so fluffy and flavorful. They ALWAYS keep their bacon super crispy! My next favorite and go to item is their everything bagels, toasted, with scallion cream cheese. OH MY GOSH. I hadn't been here in a long time, so I went here on Sunday to buy some bagels, and, of course, the line was out the door. Once inside, it is very cramped and narrow, with virtually no room to stand, especially if people are waiting for their orders. I looked at the bagels in the bins. They were small and unevenly baked. When I saw the sign and realized that they charge $1.19 each for plain bagels, plus tax, I walked out. I know this is tony Westfield, but that's 20% more than Fanwood Bagel, two miles away, where the bagels are at least as good, if not better. read more

The customer service was great and although it was really so busy we had such quick service and the food was so good. We tried so many different things including an everything bagel with lox and jalapeño cream cheese, egg white avocado on an everything bagel, the spicy chicken sandwich on an everything bagel and lastly the jalapeno hash brown specialty bagel with jalapeño cream cheese inside. So this was my 1st time here and since it was a "Cheat Day" (gym terminology) I thought I would actually see what the hype was about with this franchise. This restaurant is conveniently located amongst other stores and there was plenty of parking when I pulled up. Upon walking in, there was a cute "selfie" machine at the front entrance if you and your friends were feeling photogenic. There was about 2-3 people readily available to take your order which made me feel good that there was a sense of urgency. Although the young lady was extremely nice- overall I thought the customer service piece was a little off. I didn't necessarily get that welcoming greeting - not saying that every other restaurant does it, it's just nice to have as an added bonus. There was a gentleman that walked in (I'm assuming an existing customer) and the manager or owner more than greeted this man! I just think it would've been nice if that could've been extended to other customers (including myself) just a little bit. Other than that, I ordered the "Steak, Egg and Cheese" on a poppy seed bagel which was AMAZING! It also took no time to receive my order. Employees looked unkempt and had an extremely unprofessional demeanor. The women at the counter were wearing pajamas and had long fake nails, and looked unclean, handeling food and beverages- very gross. I asked the woman at the counter for a coffee with milk and sugar (They moved the coffee station behind the counter), and she gave me a cup of milk with hardly any coffee or sugar, filled to the top, and the lid was put on incorrectly so as I walked out with food and coffee in hand, coffee spilled all over my pants. I placed an order online. I showed up at the correct time and kept waiting. It was a busy Sunday and the place was packed. I patiently waited for my order. When I asked about it, on of the employees tracked down my order. He implied it was my fault for waiting so long saying, "I'm not saying you haven't been waiting this long but ... you know..." Which is silly, Suppose I wasn't waiting that long, where was my food?
