I loved everything about this place! The decor, the food, the staff. It was a great experience from beginning to end. They brought out chips and salsa right off and the salsa was flavorful and even had a little bite. The chips were warm and crisp. They had so many things i wanted to try but i ordered the Hawaiian fajitas and hubs had the Diego burrito. When I saw the food I wished we had brought a cooler and that I hadn't eaten so many of those chips! The fajitas were served in a pineapple and had steak and chicken and chorizo. I asked for no shrimp. The flavors were so good! I loved the mango salsa and could eat that right out of the container! The rice and beans were yummy too! I had barely started on the inside of the pineapple and I was stuffed! Somehow hubs managed to eat his entire burrito. Next time definitely will bring a cooler and take home what I cant finish. I also ordered a virgin pineapple coconut margarita. It was probably the only thing I didn't love but it was very good. I think I just prefer it with the alcohol. Upon arrival, we really liked the ambiance, decor and "high-end restaurant " feel. We were seated in the bar, and were promptly given chips and salsa. It was very busy but our server came over and took our drink order right away. He was very friendly and we got a good first impression. Unfortunately, things started to go downhill from there. It took quite a while to get our drinks, which were good. Our server had a very large table within our view, and once they arrived, he seemed to forget about us. The food we ordered arrived after quite a while, but at least both meals at the same time. I found the food very salty (and I like salty food!), and the red sauce tasted like straight tomato sauce with few spices or herbs added. Definitely disappointing. The final critique I will offer is that it was extremely expensive. Probably the highest priced Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. I'm ok with that if everything is outstanding, but it wasn't. Sorry to say, but it will not stay on my radar for places to dine out. read more

I came here with my brother last year when I was in town and had a great experience. I was excited to bring my husband this year, but unfortunately it wasn't the best experience. It took a very long time to get our food and it all came out separately. My husband and two kids all thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My chicken tacos were dry and in my opinion not worth the price. I did have a delicious drink. The staff were friendly but could have done a better job of keeping us informed about what was taking so long with our food. It was our first visit here. The restaurant is located in strip mall. This might be the most stylish and high-end Mexican/ Latin restaurant in the Manchester area. The interior is very lovely and modern. They have a killer bar that looks like a great place to take a date on and drink some margaritas. The menu itself is very extensive, it is also quite pricey. The prices rival Los Angeles. They do have a lunch special, with limited choices. Still pricey, but maybe a better option if you're on a budget. Overall the service was good but communication was a bit strained. The food itself was of high quality and decent flavor. I appreciate the free chips and salsa given with the meal. They have an abuelita making the tortillas, and we were looking forward to those flour tortillas. However, compared to Los Angeles, the tortillas were quite delicate and broke apart when we tried to eat them. We will come here again, and maybe try their hard tacos. Couple issues to address for management, the music is quite loud at times and annoying. It prevents conversation. I would dial it down to like a 3 out of 10. Also, the menus themselves, at least our menus were poorly done. The bindings on them made them very hard to open and read as you can see from my menu photos. read more

I stopped in to Raices finally this weekend and found it to be as wonderful as everyone mentions. The food was delicious, quesadilla, rice, beans, and burritos. So much good food that it was hard to decide on what to have. I was thankful for the pick two and two. A little of everything. On the "Good-Meh-Suck" scale, this was a "Meh-plus". Why you ask with so many flattering reviews? I will tell you. It was a Sunday night and was relatively busy. We were seated and asked if we wanted drinks. We ordered 4 drinks. Being cognizant of the time of year, we were not expecting immediate service so that was fine. The issue is that two drinks were brought out and then we waited 10 minutes for the other two drinks to come out. The server, while very nice and friendly, made no attempt to say anything other than "Do you not like your drinks?" We responded "We were waiting for the other two so we can toast each other". No "I'm sorry" or "Oh, sorry". Just a smile and turned and walked away. Rookie mistake. At least apologize. Oh yeah, water was refilled eventually.... Then came the wait for the table side guacamole. By this time, the basket of chips and salsa were gone. Go figure. We watched the cart go by several times. The issue apparently is having each server do the tableside guac. I would STRONGLY recommend they have a tableside guac person whose sole job is to make the guac quickly. Such is life. The final straw was the actual meal. One plate was served and then we waited several minutes for the other three to come out. One would guess that they just opened but they have not just opened. As for the food, the tableside guac was a but salty and lime-y but it was acceptable. The actual meals were fine. Nothing spectacular. For the money, probably not heading back. Also, I love the kiosk to pay from the server but why have preloaded tips at 30%. 25%, and 20%?!?! Sorry, this was not even 20% service. Glad others like this place but I was not overly impressed. Some simple rookie mistakes just should not happen. read more

I had the chicken and rice soup and the steak quesadillas, they tasted wonderful!!! Especially the soup, you can actually taste the ingredients rather than one overall taste, which is amazing. They were also able to make a nonalcoholic version of the strawberry Mojito. It tasted wonderful. It was one of the best strawberry based drinks I've had in a long time! The ambience is very clean and tasteful, and I love the painted mirror on the wall! The service is wonderful as well they are all very kind and filled up our drinks often and everyone was very warm and welcoming! read more

Stopped in tonight on a whim and so glad we did! Arroz con pollo is a go-to for me when I am trying someplace new and they did not disappoint. The corn tortillas were perfect as well. My husband got a torta they had (minus jalapeños) and it was also a hit. We haven't seen a torta like that since we moved from MA (our old favorite place for them is in Beverly). From the moment we walked through the door we were well taken care of - everybody checks on everyone else's tables to make sure customers have everything they need, and at no point did I feel like I was smothered by it. Everyone there made us feel welcome, and the decor was impressive as well. From the rose gold silverware to the separated yet open bar you can see that everything was chosen with a lot of thought behind it, but I was most impressed by the wall "art." It consists of what looks like leftover pieces of lumber in different sizes stained and staggered from the ceiling down with spaces in between some of the boards so that when you stand back to take it in, it looks like a cityscape with stars in the sky. I'll be back as soon as I can, and next time I am bringing more people with me. read more

Came in for lunch on a Saturday, had plenty of seats available in both the dinning room and the bar. Atmosher was cozy and nicely done. Staff was welcoming and freindly, and answered questions without issue. I started off with a spicy margarita which was great, my husband had the strawberry margarita which we both thought was a bit too sweet. We ordered Elotes and the Chorizo Dip appitizers, both were great, and would order again. We split a jumbo barrito and I'm happy we split it, it was pretty massive. Located at Pine Island Plaza on Brown Ave, Raices Authentic Mexican Cuisine just opened for business offering a full service dining room and the bar/lounge area in the back. They also offer takeout and online ordering, serving weekday lunch (until 2pm) and dinner. The place has a casual modern atmosphere. This new Mexican restaurant is operated by the same folks who run Vida Mexican Restaurant (Laconia-Weirs Beach), Vida At The Lake (Meredith) and Enso (Meredith). I stopped by Raices for dinner on opening night. The place wasn't too busy with most customers sitting in the bar area. By request, I was seated in the front dining room and given food and drink menus. A complementary basket of crunchy chips & mild salsa were brought out. The prices here are moderate high. I was given a glass of cold water. I went with the Steak Fajitas ($22.99 plus tax) served with Mexican rice, charro beans and a mixed greens salad with cheese & tomato light vinaigrette dressing. The steak fajitas with sauteed peppers & onions came out sizzling hot on an elevated skillet with small cups of pico de gallo, cheese, and sour cream cups, and the Mexican rice (with corn, carrot, green bean), beans, and 3 small fresh pressed corn tortillas. The steak pieces were very tender and the vegetables were nicely cooked and very hot. I did fumble a bit trying to serve and eat ingredients off of the elevated skillet (would've preferred a normal height). The 3 fresh tortillas were small, but very good and wished there were more tortillas given. After finishing dinner, I had enough to eat and got the check with Toast QR code, which was $24.94 with tax and before tip. Overall, the food I had was pretty good. I would come back here again for lunch or dinner, keeping Raices and an other Mexican places in Manchester on my rotation. read more

Not your average food review. Everybody has a different palate so leave the taste up to you. My wife and I decided on a date day today and this place DID NOT DISAPPOINT. El Rincon has been our favorite spot for years now. We need to hit this one up a few more times to see how consistent they are but wow very impressed. Exceptional service (The Best service we've received at a restaurant in a long time), great drinks, and delicious food. We really liked how the restaurant was split. The main restaurant offered more of a formal dining experience. Most areas were well lit but we chose to sit in the corner where it wasn't as bright. Not great for pictures but it was perfect for us. The bar area offers more off a vacation vibe. Very bright and colorful. The hand painted mural behind the bar is a must see. Great place to pop in got a quick bite for the day or stop in and have a drink after you eat dinner. The food was delicious. Both my wife and I agreed that this is easily some of the best Mexican food we have had. Fresh, flavorful and authentic. The side salad was a nice touch and the corn tortillas are a must with any meal. Dinnerware and glassware were right on point. Dessert was a perfect way to finish this amazing. Cant recommend the churros with a chocolate drizzle enough. We felt the pricing was very reasonable considering the level of service and the fresh, delicious authentic food. The attention to detail was very noticable. We came on a Friday evening, the restaurant was very busy, luckily for the two of us we only had to wait about 20 minutes, the restaurant is near the airport in a small plaza. Given its location, it was surprising to see how busy this restaurant was. The interior was small and bustling. We thankfully sat in a booth which removed us a bit from the busy walkways. To start, we were given complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was mild and very good and fresh tasting. The prices for meals and drinks were on the expensive side, about $16 for a cocktail and $18+ for a meal. We did not get a beverage, but the alcoholic drinks did look very good. They hand make their own corn tortillas and make the guacamole at the tableside. I ordered their "dry burrito" which included shredded chicken Mexican rice, beans, avocado and sour cream. The food came out very hot, and to my surprise, my leftovers were still warm by the time I got home. I very much enjoyed my burrito, it had a lot of flavor and I even enjoyed it more the second day. I opted for the dry burrito vs their other more elaborate ones because I didn't want my burrito topped with salsa and queso, the restaurant was busy enough I didn't want to make personalizations. My friend ordered 3 street tacos on their homemade corn tortillas. I tried the chorizo and it was different than other chorizo tacos I've had before and I liked it a lot. I tried their signature hot sauce, and yes it's hot! It has a different taste to it but it is made with 3 different chiles we were told! Our server, Hirsh was very friendly and made helpful recommendations, he was quick to filling up our waters and offering more chips and salsa if we wanted. By the time we left at around 9pm, people were still coming into the restaurant. All in all the food was great, the drinks looked great but a hesitancy for us in the high price cost. read more

OMG SO GOOD!!! Came here with my son and co-parent, and the flavors were phenomenal. Coming from Texas, I am pretty picky about my Mexican food, and this was legitimately the best Mexican I've had in a very very long time. I loved the fun skull mugs they used for margaritas, and the drinks are delicious -- I've never had a blueberry mojito before! My son and I got the Frida enchiladas and Oh. My. Gosh were they amazing. The wait staff was efficient and friendly, and the owner (manager?) came out to check we were being served after our drink orders were taken. Even though my friend/co-parent is trans we never felt like they were treating her differently. It's super rare to find a delicious place that has such a high-standard of customer service, and I hope Raices continues to be successful for years to come! read more

Very nice ambience upon entering this new restaurant. There were 3 of us, and we were seated right away. We were served the standard warm chips and salsa as an appetizer. Ordered the (3) steak taco platter, vegetable fajitas platter, and enchiladas plate. All three dishes were superb. Everything was made fresh and had authentic Mexican flavors. Best Mexican food I have ever had in New Hampshire. Tad pricey but everything is freshly made, right down to the corn tortillas. Kind of hope this place stays a hidden gem! Tonight, Hubby and I tried Raices Authentic Mexican Cuisine on Brown Ave. Fantastic! We were pleasantly surprised at the beautiful interior. We decided on a high top table in the bar area. The service was impeccable (Root was our server and he was awesome). Chips and salsa were delivered immediately along with menus. We declined fresh guacamole but saw many people enjoying it, as it is made fresh at your table! (Next time!). We had a house marg and a papacito. We tried the taco dinner and chimichanga. Wow...Raices is just brilliantly killing it across the board. Unbelievably perfect in every way. This fab restaurant opened down the street from us about a month ago in a spot that had seemingly been cursed. A few banks that had repeatedly been robbed, then a Thai place that we thought was dismal and depressing (despite other people seeming to love them), so we were happy when they found another location. We were cautiously hopeful to hear about a Mexican place opening, but expectations were low given this spot's history. Yet, as we followed their journey to opening day, it was clear how much thought was going into every single decision. Fingers were crossed! On launch day, we somehow weren't in the mood to eat out, so we did an online order that was ready very quickly. The food was good, but not as good as we thought it could be in person. They'd done a great job packaging things separately, and I think we got overwhelmed trying to figure out what went with what when it got it home. However, the ceviche tostada was SO magnificent, and that one dish alone told me that we simply had to eat there in person. Everything was so fresh and well made, but it was clear we needed an in-person experience. So tonight, five of us ventured in, and from minute one, we were smiling. The interior has had a much-needed and very stylish makeover, with super comfortable seating and a modern slat partition separating the main dining area from the bar (which, BTW, has a stupendous Day of the Dead hand-painted mural on the back wall). Such a lovely ambiance, including Mexican music at a reasonable volume that didn't cut off conversation and only added to the feel of the restaurant. We were so warmly welcomed in and attended to all night by Julie and Harry. Both were funny, kind, charming, and professional, and so clearly devoted to Raices and their customers. Julie let us personalize dishes without raising an eyebrow, and got any accommodations perfectly. Most importantly, the food! The five of us ordered a bunch of things to share, which I totally recommend so that you can sample a bit of everything. The guacamole is made outside the kitchen by the woman who also cooks up all the tortillas on a flattop, and she'll customize it as you like (ie: with or without cilantro, jalapeño, etc.), and it was some of the best I've ever had. You get a heaping serving in an authentic Molcaiete Mexicano that goes beautifully alongside the free chips and salsa you get when you are seated. Queso dips come out literally bubbling hot, and the only joking complaint is that they're so cheesy that it's impossible to separate the dip from the chip even two feet away, lol. Because I'd loved the ceviche tostada so much from our first order, I had to try it again, and pushed it on the other shrimp lovers with us. Drooling. My talented chef husband gave me a bit of a glare when I said it's one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life, but it's a perfect balance of sweet and salty, and each ingredient (as with all of their dishes) is so damn fresh. The chiles poblanos also deserve a special shout out (wild scream out?). A giant portion stuffed with cheese and topped with red sauce and more cheese? Nothing to not like there. Our table also shared delicious chicken fajitas and tacos and then finished with fried ice cream (with a nicely rich chocolate giant bomb of ice cream) and the mango cheesecake that was much, much lighter than most cheesecakes. Both were unique and delectable! The drink menu is extensive (and mouthwatering), and nothing but rave reviews for their margaritas (again something they are happy to tweak to your preference). Not sure what the house Sauvignon blanc was, but it was decidedly chilled (thank you!) and very, very good. Not the usually crummy junk wine thrown out there. I'm selfishly overjoyed to have such a yummy place so close to where I live, but also equally overjoyed that such a lovely group of people are hitting it home after such clear hard and thoughtful work. Manchester has a number of very good Mexican restaurants, but not any that I know of that give you this kind of unofficial fine dining experience. Or, really, any restaurants that treasure their customers the way Raices did tonight. We were there for three hours and never once felt rushed. They knew and loved that we were there to savor the food and the experience, letting us order rounds of food to share as we liked. And again, kudos to our servers, Harry (who told me he is the owner's nephew) and Julie. Harry talked for a bit with the person in our group who had ordered a drink off the menu and was genuinely interested to learn what she'd created. Suspect we might see it show up on their cocktail list now, ha ha! And I had to hug Julie before we left, lol, because we'd had such a phenomenal night. Welcome to Manchester, Raices! First time trying Raices. Greeted warmly by hostess. Our server named " C" was terrific. Knowledgeable about the menu, dishes, etc. Wasn't crowded on a Wednesday night at 6. Food was excellent. Flavorful and abundant. I got a burrito and it was huge. Frozen house margaritas were delicious and affordable at $10.99 Definitely will return to try other flavorful dishes.
