I did speak with the restaurant manager, Zach, and I truly appreciate how he handled the situation. He listened, was sincere, apologized, and genuinely cared about our experience. His professionalism left a positive impression, and I'm grateful he took the time to address our concerns. Everyone has better things to do than to watch TV with him, but everyone finds themself sitting on the couch watching TV with him at some point throughout the gathering. That's McGarvey's. Is it anyone's "go-to" bar in Manchester? Probably not. But does everyone love it and find themselves there at some point during the night? Probably not. But this review isn't about other people, It's about me. I don't care if other people don't like McGarvey's (I'm looking at you, Anthony A.) And I don't really care if the bartenders charge an extra $0.50 for rude behavior (I'm looking at you, Anthony A.) And most of all I don't care if people don't want to go there. I do. But if I did play pool, would I enjoy playing on these tables? More than likely, yes. The pub's motto is: "What happens at McGarvey's stays at McGarvey's". I personally don't think that's their actual motto because no one has ever said it besides me, nonetheless, it rings true. What happens at McGarvey's stays at McGarvey's because by the next morning, you won't remember anything that happened at McGarvey's... But the bartenders will. They remember everything. And you know where they stay? At McGarvey's. All the time. Speaking from experience, here's a list of things you may bump into at McGarvey's: The counter The doors The pool table Chairs People The trash can More doors More people The urinal (Male) The urinal (Female) (Don't ask) JV The pillars The bouncer (He will not give you a hug) (Don't ask) I've never come out of McGarvey's without a few bruises. Whether it be from running into things because I'm drunk, tripping over everything because I'm drunk, or telling everyone they have something on their shirt then doing the little nose flick thing then they punch me in the head because I'm drunk, I always leave looking quite black and blue. Overall, I will definitely be going to McGarvey's again. I'm there right now, actually. But the point of this review is to help determine if YOU should go to McGarvey's. These were served with a pea and bacon risotto whose rich flavors matched the meatballs perfectly and the accompanying crisped breads balanced texture for the perfect combo. The pork belly tostadas had a great combination of toppings that gave them a fresh feel and almost made pork belly feel healthy, and the popover short rib dish was perfectly cooked and tasty. This one wasn't my dish, but I managed to snag a nibble and may be ordering it next time if they decide to add it to the regular menu. So good! The dishes were a nice size, leaving room for desert, and the fresh fruit meringue was an excellent finale. The restaurant itself is small, with a bar and just a handful of indoor tables. They had 4 more tables outside, however, which would be great on slightly cooler days. The indoor window seat we got was comfortable and the whole place had a cozy, friendly feel. Service was top notch, from a greeting as we entered to constant attention - we never really noticed our slightly small (bar style) table as all the dishes were cleared so quickly. I loved this place and will probably have to keep returning until I've tried the whole menu. I'm definitely hoping to try the outdoor tables next if weather permits.

I have eaten at Margaritas in a few states. The food is always wonderful and up to standard. The reason I am writing this review is for the lack of attention to service in the Manchester NH location. Lately I tend to get take out after work. I call and have to be transferred to the bar to place my order and it is not unusual to have to hang up and call back because no one answers. I always order the same thing and sad to say every time the order is wrong. I can understand a simple mistake as I work in a cafe myself but this is unacceptable. The last time I placed my order with the assistant manager himself and I thought I had no worries but because of the past I took everything out of the bag and you guessed it...it was wrong! The second time it went back out to the kitchen I waited and it came out wrong again! At this point the assistant manager apologized yet again and handed me his card with a hand written note that on my next visit my order would be free. Fast forward to today when I called to place my take out order, the same order I always get. On arrival to pick up the order I handed over the Assistant managers card for a free order as payment this caused concern to the bartender. Understandably she wanted to talk to the assistant manager. I watched as they huddled at the end of the bar discussing it. He did then come talk to me and did remember it was his mistake. He did thank me for coming back to the restaurant. Then I waited for the food and completely ignored! I did get the order so I briefly looked in the bag to see if everything was there. Looked right to me but after opening it up at home guess what..... the guacamole was missing! Last winter I tried to place a take out order during a snow storm and called back 3 times to no avail. We decided to just drive there and eat. I mentioned this to our waitress and the same manager comped our drinks and thanked us for driving in the storm. This seems to be a reoccurring theme. We used Margaritas in Manchester as the location for my son's soccer team gathering after their tournament. Working with the manager, Jamison, was incredibly easy. He was very thorough. We ordered off the catering menu. The food was delivered in a timely manner and was delicious. We were a large party of over 30 people and the staff was incredibly accommodating and quick. Both Amanda and Matt were able to take everyone's drink orders and anything extra beyond the catering menu and organize the orders to make it easy for payment later. Amanda and Matt were amazing and handled the chaos of a soccer team seamlessly. Would definitely recommend using this location as a place to have a large gathering or to just dine at for that matter. This is one of four or five go to restaurants I can rely on when I'm in Manchester. There are pros and cons. They are consistent in their food menu and drinks and the service is usually pretty good. I had a few of their staff have a bad day, I get it, most of the time they are great. The whole place is as colorful as a Frida Kahlo painting but Even though they have a franchise-Mexican-Disney feel to them they are not as kid-friendly as I would like. When it's crowded it can get very hectic. My advice is go for the food and enjoy the eye candy decorations. read more

I had such a great experience with Margaritas thanks to David, the manager! Our original DoorDash order was unfortunately stolen by the driver, and David went above and beyond to make it right. He had the kitchen remake everything and made sure we got our food fresh and exactly how we ordered it. His kindness and professionalism really stood out -- it's rare to see someone care that much about their customers. Mexican rice should and can be made flavorful with ease by any chef. -The guacamole was clearly made well in advance and brown... I'm sorry, happy to pay a premium for guac at a restaurant but this product shows no effort to ensure freshness. -Main dishes , both submerged in oil and our chicken was served nearly cold... fajitas served lukewarm and lacking flavor which seems hard to do but that was our experience. - Drinks - the unsweetened ice tea was served carbonated for some odd reason from their soda machine... not drinkable sorry. Finding parking was initially cumbersome as this mill area has small parking areas and even fewer unmarked parking spaces, seemed that even the janitor had a reserved space. Then we found out that most of them are open after business hours. Waking into the restaurant was very appealing. The interior is quaint, subtly lit and welcoming. There are river views and booths with tufted seats, but even the inside seating was quite comfortable. For those not in a group, online reservations are available on the restaurant's website as well as Open Table app. Service was superb, even with split checks. Which translated to additional tips for the waiter, well deserved. Food was delicious. I had the Capers salad with added salmon. The salad was fresh, crispy, tasty. And the salmon was cooked to perfection. A memorable experience.
