Raimonds was absolutely fantastic during my recent move from MA to ME. I used their tool online to get a quote to move my 2 bedroom condo (plus items in a storage unit at a second location) into a 3 bedroom house, along with a 1 night hold at their location. There wasn't a ton of communication leading up to the move, so I was worried that things would go smoothly. They do have a messaging tool on their site that I used a couple times and got responses very quickly. However, the move went almost pretty much seamlessly. The three men performing the move were friendly and extremely efficient. I'm pretty sure they completed the move out in under 3 hours, and the move in was finished in about 2. There was literally NO damage to anything...and we had a lot! Last but definitely not least, the price was VERY competitive - in fact we had another quote from a company that was about $750 more than what we paid. This is my 3rd time moving apartments with Raimond's movers, and I'm sure it's not the last. As always, they were efficient, professional, and careful with my belongings. For the quality of work they do, they are very reasonably priced. Plus I've tried moving myself in a U-Haul before, and hiring Raimond's to avoid multiple days of stress and physical pain carrying furniture into and out of apartments is worth every penny. They will tell you, the more organized you are up front the faster the move goes and they bill on an hourly rate. So pack things up ahead of time. Clearly group together what goes and what stays. Apply for permits so that they can park near your place. And then just stay out of their way because they move FAST when you leave them to it. read more

We've used Raimonds twice now. We had a team of three each time. Max and Eugene were particularly friendly but all of them are kind, easy going, efficient, and asked where we wanted our items. I peaked in the truck and the boxes were stacked expertly without an inch of wasted space. They wrapped things carefully and were mindful of walls and corners, etc. We moved out of a third floor walk up in an old row house and into a second floor walk up with winding stair case. I hired Raimond's for my move this past weekend, and I could not have been more impressed. The quoting and reservation process on their website was straightforward, they were very quick to respond, and the movers were on time, professional, efficient, and friendly. They also completed the move in less time than was originally quoted (perhaps because we were diligent in our packing and made sure the movers only had to move furniture and boxes, no odds and ends or large framed pictures), and they were very careful and thorough in packing my furniture, including an upright piano! I worked with a different moving company for my last relocation, and they wasted a lot of time taking their truck down a wrong alley and discussing the best way to get my couch around a tricky corner. Raimond's, on the other hand, got all 3 addresses they needed correct, arrived promptly, and took that same couch around that same corner with no difficulty whatsoever. The crew from Raimond's worked with me for a stressful August 31/September 1 move from Brighton to Somerville, including storage overnight. Their online system was easy to use, clear and came with several confirmation emails/reminders. Raimond's Movers mean business. They are professional, courteous, conscientious, punctual, and efficient. They do not mess around! I hired them for a move from my apartment to my new home. Even though I wasn't as organized as I had hoped I'd be on moving day, these guys made the day happen as seamlessly as possible.They worked fast and tirelessly to break down furniture, wrap it, load it and then unload, assemble and set everything up for me. I was packing some lamps as they arrived (right on time, I might add), and I had the finials to three different lamps in my hand. They had picked them up and attached them to the proper lamps for me before packing them in the truck! Who does that? They do! Seriously, no detail is too small with these guys. Raimond's packed a truck for us to move from Boston to Austin. These guys must love Tetris because they packed the truck expertly. It was actually fun to watch. We purchased blankets for the move. Every piece of furniture was wrapped in blankets and then wrapped in plastic. You don't need to babysit them - they know what they are doing. Everything made it to Austin - some plastic storage boxes were broken and it is strange because these boxes have been through a ton of moves and have done really well - but the stuff in them was fine. One other thing happened that bears mentioning. There was a stain on the rug that was not there at the start of the day. Actually there was a moving blanket and we didn't notice the stain until after they left. It could have been that the stain came from inside the truck. I just wish they would have told me so that I could have worked on it. But I am giving them four stars because they expertly packed my truck and my stuff made it to Austin safely. read more

Raimond, the owner, was actually on the job and super cute ;-) which made the hot day tolerable. They were also very accommodating, as I had contacted them at the last minute after the moving company I had planned to use irked me the wrong way. Below is a review I wrote for the moving company I had used prior to finding Raimond on Craigslist...Everything that Anton's did wrong, Raimond's did right, which is why anytime asks me for a referral, I will be sending them Raimond's way. .................... Had a similar situation to RUPAUL S. Only I was trying to rehire them, and was met with extremely rude behavior from Rudy. I had used them in a previous move and they were pretty cool. They moved everything quickly and efficiently and I ended up leaving the two dudes who moved me a $40 cash tip each. When I called them at the end of my lease to move again, the owner was unbelievably rude and hung up on me. I was going to recommend them to all my friends moving for September 1st (my lease ended on July 31), but instead went with another moving company with nicer staff and more accommodating people. Check out Raimond's Movers. The owner is Raimond himself, and he was the one who actually assisted in helping me move then Anton's owner, Rudy, was being an incompetent and rude business fellow. I've moved my kids in and out of apartments in both NYC and Boston and of all the movers that I have used, these guys are the best. I've used them a couple of times now in the Boston area and they are always on time as well as fast and efficient, but I think that the best part is that they don't gouge you on the price. Just recently I had to use them to move my daughter out of her apartment on short notice due to a fire in her building. The fire created a mess with soot, water, broken walls, etc. up and down the stairs and hallways of the building. My concern was getting the furniture out without smearing it with mud and soot. These guys came in on two days notice, wrapped every piece of furniture, trucked it to my house in NH and neatly stacked everything in my basement for a grand total of $315. It would have cost me $250 just to rent the truck from Uhaul. I will never do a move around the Boston area by myself again. If you have to move in or out of an apartment in the Boston area, don't kill yourself doing it, hire these guys. You'll be glad that you did. read more

First let me say I am about as skeptical as they come. When we decided to hire movers for our move from Boston to NYC we shopped around, ALOT. Raimond was kind, courteous, professional and extremely patient. I must have called him 5-6 times to reconfirm and ask questions and he reassured me everything would go along without a hitch and that we had nothing to worry about. That is truly an understatement. Raimond was amazing, his guys were professional, quick and extremely hard working. I move for work every couple years and we know all about movers and we've had some awful ones. Not a single person was lying when they wrote that these guys were absolutely amazing in all of their moving and packing ways! We were a little worried when they were half an hour late (in their defense, our place is incredibly hard to find and doesn't show up on any GPS) and when they finally got here, the first two movers looked like they were 18 and 20 if we were lucky; the third at least looked a little older and therefore in charge. For all their efficiency and skills though, they could have been 12 for all I cared. They packed up a 2 bedroom/living room/dining room apartment in 2 hours, wrapping everything incredibly well compared to the last movers we hired who nicked almost all of our furniture. They lifted things that I would have thought would require two people by themselves with no problem or without breaking a sweat. Although I felt incredibly weird just sitting there watching them move box after box containing everything I've ever owned in the past two years, I learned very quickly to stay out of their way when one of them almost ran me over with my file cabinet. Note to self: do not get in the way of determined Russians. When we got to the new digs, we had some problems with the moving permits (someone had snagged our spot and we ended up having to call the cops on them), but they just parked in the nearest spot they could find and waited patiently while we tried to figure everything out with the cops. About 10 minutes later, they just started unloading everything and by the time I ran to a corner store to get them water (they seemed all super hero like, but everyone needs water in 80 degree weather while moving heavy furniture up five flights of stairs), the situation with the cops was fixed and they were still motoring along like nothing had stopped them. Everything got into our new place in one piece, sans any type of damage and I'm pretty sure I love them for making this move a complete and utter success. I scheduled a move with their website a few weeks ahead of time after seeing them on Yelp to begin with. I had to speak with someone on the phone to confirm I was a real person who actually wanted to move, and then everything seemed to be all set. The morning of the move (scheduled to begin between 1-3pm), I get a phone call at about 12:05pm that says they will be a few minutes EARLY, and if I am okay with that. I say no problem, and sure enough they roll up at 12:55pm. Two guys, 16' truck as promised. I showed them what to move, they said no problem, asked me clarification questions here and there throughout the move. The move was for 1 bedroom, 1 living room. I had already boxed up about 8 boxes ahead of time for easy service. They have plenty of tape, supplies, padding for my furniture, TV, and mattress. The total time estimate was two hours, and it took them 2.75 hours at the end of the day, which is what I really expected to begin with for the amount of stuff that needed to get moved. Great moving experience, thanks guys. One minor note, they charge 3% extra if you use a credit card. If you are looking to save a few extra bucks, make sure you hit the ATM beforehand. read more

I used a moving company for the 1st time back in 2010. Stairhopper Movers did a very good job moving my belongings from Arlington to Brookline. Last month I decided to choose a different mover when I moved from Brookline to Newton. Raimond's Movers was the company that I chose. As another reviewer stated, they wrapped everything that could break or that I asked to wrap. I had already taken most of my bed apart. They did the rest. They were quick and efficient with my move. I would recommend them to friends and family. Everything was moved and then my bed was reassembled. I had a small wooden file cabinet that was damaged when it was lifted incorrectly once it was in my new apartment, but everything else came through unscathed. So I chose these guys because of their Yelp ratings. I called around to about 10 different places but I liked that 1) they had great reviews and 2) their prices were reasonable. I also ended up buying their $80 value for $50 coupon. On the day of the move, 3 guys came over. We had originally wanted a full-service move since I have a wife and baby and didn't want to deal with putting stuff in boxes and all that stuff. We were quoted $150 for 3 people per hour, so we were estimating about 3 hours. They got right to work! All the boxes that we had moved from our closet out to the living room took us about 2 hours, and it took them literally 5 minutes - it was jaw dropping. However, since we didn't pack anything else and the furniture was not as simple, it took a bit longer. But what really stood out to me was the guy's honesty. He basically told me that if we wanted to save money, we should only go for 2 hours since within those 2 hours we can get the big stuff moved. As for the small stuff (like stuff in our kitchen drawers) they could do that for us, but it would take a lot more time and would cost us much more money. He suggested that we just do the 2 hours and then the small stuff we do ourselves, and he even gave us tips on how he would do it himself! That is pretty much unheard of! About 15 minutes before the 2 hour mark (of which I was not keeping track of) he approached me and told me that he wanted to stop by the 2 hour mark to save us money! So we paid him and thanked him and he was on his way. Later on, I realized I didn't redeem my Yelp code so I sent an email to Raimond, who said that even though I should have redeemed it as soon as the move was over, he'd send me a check for $80! Now that's what I call service! I'd highly recommend these guys. Very professional and a good job gets you 4 stars, but what got them the 5th star is their honesty (even if it may impact short term profits) which means I will recommend them to everyone I know! read more

Showed up on time. Called to give a heads up that they would be arriving within 30-45 minutes each time. Moved my furniture up to a fourth floor walk ups with no problems. Quick and efficient. No damage to any furniture or belongings. Very professional and courteous. Finding the right moving company, especially in a market of annual movers like Boston, can be quite the chore. We scoured the web preparing for our move and found Raimond's via yelp.com. Never had I seen a service with so many 5-star reviews, so gave it a go. We reserved online, received a few basic emails, confirmed following the email instructions, and all set (Their online reserve system can seem too simple/basic to people who need more interaction, so don't hesitate calling or emailing if it makes you nervous). Day of, a confirm call came about 15 minutes before they arrived, early, a quick tour and the work began. These movers are all Russian speakers, but do speak English, and the efficiency, precision, and speed is something to see. Not one scratch, ding, broken thing, and their skill of fitting it all in the truck is amazing. No surprises on the invoice either, they don't charge extra for the wrap they add to insure safe furniture moving like many companies do at the end. They charge by the hour, and ours went quicker than expected, so less than quoted. The only extras were we bought them water and granola bars, and of course, a generous tip. If you need more services, they do most anything related to moving. If the simple online reservation system doesn't seem trustworthy or you need discussion, you can call or email. We've advised all our moving friends to hire this company and NO ONE has been less than amazed. read more

Prompt and Efficient! I moved my stuff (studio-size) from a U-haul location in Lebanon, NH to a first floor apartment in Medford, MA. Two guys arrived at the U-haul location in a metro van promptly. They were very efficient in transferring my furniture from a U-BOX to the van. The drive took them 2 h and the overall move (including their drive from Boston to New Hampshire) took about 5 h. Since I did not have much stuff to move, the limiting factor was the up and down drive of about 4 h. I was able to use the yelp coupon just by showing the coupon on my phone. One of the guys was very friendly and the other was slightly snobbish, but I ll still give them five stars. I would definitely recommend them to a friend. read more

I used yelp to help decide on movers and Raimonds came out pretty good. I then checked their website (with a helpful quoting and booking system) and found them to be realtively inexpensive too. Needless to say good reviews and cheap were all I needed and I booked them for my move. I had one large (a bit like a tardis - much mroe was in there than I had anticipated) bedroom and a few odds and ends. Not a house worth of stuff, but enough for moving myself to be out of the question, plus I have a large, heavy and solid bed that needed to be taken apart, moved, and then put back together. Raimonds handeled everything in their stride. They were early (which I kind of expected from the reviews, but they called before arrival and checked that I was ready). They were quick (which, when you are paying by the hour is very accomodating). And they were very nice and relaxed (given that I hate moving and get stressed about the smallest things this was very helpful). I also noticed on other reviews that there had been some complaints about there being no confirmation before the day - obviously Raimonds listened to those complaints because there is now an extensive confirmation process - you can confirm both online and by phone. I paid cash. Overall I was very happy and have already recommended Raimonds to friends. I'm hoping not to need there services anytime soon but if I find myself needing to move around Boston I'll be going back to them. read more

Awesome experience from start to finish. I've never hired a mover before but knew I needed one to move an old player piano to our new place. Found Raimond's Movers here on yelp and contacted them due to other 5 star reviews. They were super quick to respond to all my inquiries and emails and quoted me a good price. On the day of the move they even showed up to the first location a few minutes early! The 3 guys moving the piano were friendly and upbeat throughout the entire move even though it was obviously a beast of a thing to move. This company was incredibly professional, fast, efficient, and treated our things with tender love and care. We have moved multiple times in the past and have never had such a great experience as we did with this company. They wrapped all of our furniture and were very careful with moving out our things and moving them into our new home. They disassembled and reassembled all of our beds with incredible precision. Finally, they were able to meet our needs in a very short amount of notice and did so for a very fair price (the MOST fair out of all of the other top companies in the Brookline area through yelp). The reason we chose Raimonds (aside from all of the great reviews) was that their website is so straight forward. Rates are clearly posted and they have an estimation tool to help you figure out how many movers you should book for your job. There was no lengthy form we had to fill out, only to have someone call us back to provide estimates later--it was all very transparent. They answered all questions via email or phone very promptly (within 24 hours). We opted for more muscle and a shorter move time. We got 3 guys and a truck to move a 2-bedroom apartment (bedroom, office, living room, dining room and a ton of books). The guys were about 20 minutes late, but didn't start the clock until they'd arrived. Raimond's estimated 4-5 hours for the move and they completed it in 4. It was a HOT day and we had a few pieces of difficult-to-maneuver furniture (we were moving from a 2nd floor into a 2nd floor). The guys got straight to work when they got to the house and kept working hard the entire time. It was entirely worth it and I'll definitely be calling them again the next time we move. The only thing I'll say for anyone dealing with Raimond's for the first time -- they don't call to confirm they're coming on the day of the move. They'll just show up. That made me anxious, especially because they were running late for our move. It would be nice if Raimond's would add that as a part of their process. Also, if you plan on paying with plastic, there's a 3.5% fee. read more

I hired Raimond's Movers after reading their reviews on yelp! when I was moving lately. I was on a short schedule and needed movers on the fly. I read numerous companies reviews but based on price and availability I chose Raimond's. I can't talk enough about how amazing my move was. First of all, the movers were early. I have moved before and had the movers be hours late. This was not the case. They were not only on time but ready to work. We assessed the move and got to work. They brought all the necessary equipment for my artwork, mattress, furniture, and bed frame. The last movers I had couldn't even get my couch down the hallway. The men from Raimond's took my bed apart to make the move easier, but most importantly faster. The move out of my apartment did take longer than I had anticipated, especially with three movers and myself moving things, but that wasn't all their fault. I reserved my freight elevator but my management company didn't follow through so we had to wait for the elevator a few times. Then we got everything into the truck, secured, padded, and ready for the move. They went to leave and another moving truck was blocking everyone in. A Half hour later we are leaving my old place (I complained to the building manager about the moving truck, and it was promptly moved), and on our way to my new place. The drivers were aware of what streets they could and could not drive on, and took the shortest route to my new place. When we got there, they walked into my new place and assessed where the furniture would go. I sensed that they felt bad about the delay in the move so we started moving into the new place (I Helped). They consulted me on the placement of all the boxes, as well as where the bed would be placed in my room. Then they fully put it together without me asking! I was blown away. Not only did they seem to worry about the bottom line on the cost, they also seemed to want to make up the time we lost with the elevator and the blocking of the driveway. The total move cost me 3 hours of their work (2.5 hours of moving plus a "standard" travel time of .5 hours). For a moving company to be early, honest, sincere, and careful, not to mention that they were looking out for my best interest, I have to give them 4 stars. I don't typically give 5 star reviews because I feel there is always room for improvement. I also don't know if I was told of the .5 hour travel time (Although I will admit I may have read over that part of the E-mail). Most importantly, I would use them again, and more importantly, recommend them to friends. Alex and his team was top notch.
