I had a house that I finished remodeling and needed cleaned for sale. They did a great job on the bathrooms, but there were areas like some cabinets that were left untouched and very dusty. I told them I wasn't happy about it, and they sent another cleaner out at no charge to take care of all the areas that had been missed. Even after that, it wasn't totally cleaned to the level I needed, because I was selling the place. I needed it absolutely immaculate. However, true to their 100% Satisfaction guarantee, they offered a 100% refund. They were so serious about this that even though I was hard to get hold of, they kept trying until they reached me. I didn't think it was fair to them to take a full refund, because they did get the bathrooms clean and did try hard to get the overall results right, so I only asked for a half refund, which they did immediately. I am open to the idea that my standards were too high, or maybe that if the house was being lived in with furniture and so forth, that I would not have noticed the places that weren't as clean as I wanted. If I was using a cleaning service for the house I live in, I would at least give them a chance at it, because they did a great job on the bathrooms, and were very very serious about doing whatever it took to make me completely happy, including sending another cleaner at no extra cost and then offering a full and complete refund. A lot of places tell you they won't quit until you are 100% satisfied, but these guys take that guarantee very seriously. I figure if you're trying to decide which cleaning service to use, it makes sense to try one that is a no-lose proposition. read more

I paid $400 for a 2 hour service. I had my whole apartment prepped. Nothing on the floors, tables/shelves, bathroom empty including shower. Completely prepped for them to come in and clean then boom out. The ladies that came were very nice. They did what the company told them to. HOWEVER, the companies service offerings and price, absolutely not worth it. My studio apartment is only 500sq ft. And, again, my apartment was fully prepped. NOTHING on floors, shelves, counters, bathroom and bath, ALL trash/boxes taken out. It should not take over 4 hours even for a "wipe down". Ridiculous. Then the company "rep" called me and told me this was just a surface cleaning and it's going to be over 4 hours. WHAT?? Just a surface cleaning and still $400? They were not allowed to scrub minor areas of my apartment. Seriously minor on the floor. This company is a rip off!! I pay $400 for a cleaning and got a simple wipe down?? And over 2 hours another $200!! Extremely disappointed and angry. Again, the ladies that came were very nice and did what the company said. The company, however, IS A RIP OFF! Great communication, they make sure to call if there are any updates, including if the cleaners need additional time. Love that they have a web portal if you need to make any changes to your cleaning schedule. They have always arrived during the 1 hour window. When they are finished they send you an email indicating what was completed and notes. For example, they were unable to vacuum a small area because the vacuum was unable to fit in the area. Absolutely not worth the money for a mid-size house. The cleaning they did has low quality. For example, they did not clean the toothbrush stands in the bathroom. They refused to clean (vacuuming) the closet at the beginning saying that it was not required beforehand. Additionally, the wipers they brought smelled like they hadn't been washed for a long time. read more

I was a Rain City Maids customer for years, and was happy with their service for most of them. I saw a lot of the same faces from cleaning to cleaning. Their cleaners knew my home, and they always sent emails in advance to let me know who would be arriving. They started going downhill over the last couple of years. They stopped letting you know who will be coming (or even giving their names after the fact). They seem to have a limitless supply of new cleaners, because every two weeks has brought a new pair of people who have never been in my home before. The cleaners often skip things like vacuuming, but always report that it's been done via an electronic checklist. (I reported this and was promised there would be quality checks. Those never happened. I was also promised a "new team" after complaining again. This seemed like a joke when I haven't seen the same person twice for months as it is.) And it's not like they're running short on time. My cleanings are charged for 5 hours (2.5 hours for a two-person team). Consistently one will show up and sit in their vehicle for about 30 minutes. Eventually they come in and start, often before the second cleaner has arrived. An hour and a half after the first person arrives, they both leave... and at least one will sit in their car another 30 minutes before sending notice that the cleaning is complete and driving away. So there's at least one person from Rain City Maids on my property for the entire 2.5 hours, but they're only actively cleaning for 1.5 of that. I've since discontinued my service. I would advise against Rain City Maids unless you're okay directing a new cleaning team each time to your garbage bags, laundry (for dirty sheets, if you have them change the beds), outside waste cans, etc.; explaining any of your particular preferences; and monitoring to make sure they're actually in your home and cleaning during their visit rather than leaning against their cars and chatting. They told me it took them nearly 2 hours to clean a stove. They wanted to charge an additional $100 USD to clean a single room in a small apartment. They communicate well but are almost guaranteed to call you after they start cleaning to charge for additional services. Find someone who will be upfront and honest about pricing and not try "surprise" charges halfway through. read more

Cleaning was decent, not great, they did an OK job on the floors but barely dusted anything. Quoted me for more hours than they actually spent cleaning, and then charged for the full quote amount even though they left early. The real problem is they have been calling me & texting me literally every day since then asking about setting up a recurring cleaning schedule & asking me to recommend them to other people. They have all been disappointing in various aspects, the biggest of which is the inability to communicate in English. I decided to give Rain City Maids a try, since their offices were near my home. We recently had some roommates move out so I wanted to deep clean the home. A small brigade of six cleaners showed up within the promised time. After showing them what we needed done they got right to work. The office called a few times to keep me up to date on the status, for example there were some areas that needed extra work so they want to do see if I would like to add on some extra time. Going through things with the people in the office I saw no issue with that. Cost was understandable for the work that was being done, and they quoted a decent price for future services. I am preparing a home for market and hired them to clean the house (that pretty much all personal items have been removed). They barely cleaned anything and only did about half of downstairs. On top of that, they were on their phones half the time and one of the cleaners spent 2 hours just wiping the counters in the kitchen. They then called my business partner and said they need to charge a couple more hours. They proceeded to leave about 30-45 min later. When we told the manager, they said a new crew would come today to finish and they never came. Terrible company and expert scam artists. Do not use them. read more

My first review was 3 years ago, nearly to the day. I'm still super happy with the RAIN CITY MAIDS. My (almost always) gals, Stephanie and Ollie, treat our house as if it were their own. I love how they listen to any special instructions carefully and take great care as they work with some of our special items. I love how thoroughly all the rooms are vacuumed, the beds are made beautifully, and the throw blankets are folded with great care. I used this company to clean my new house before moving in. I'd had new floors and paint done, so it was very dusty everywhere. The team got there and, much to our dismay, the painters were still there, with wet paint and supplies still everywhere! The painters eventually finished and left, but the team was given crummy circumstances to work under. The reason I wanted to write this review is that even though their time window got pushed back and the situation was not what they (or I!) expected, they still did an amazing job. It feels like a clean, fresh house that I can feel comfortable moving my stuff into. It's a great start to making it home! I requested the home to be spot cleaned, so a basic wipe down for pictures to list the property. They sent a team that we're on the phone the entire time and the job was not even half finished. I spoke with the manager the next day and after multiple calls they said they'll be out there from 11-12.... No call no show. I would advise not using this company. read more

Rain City Maids is wonderful. We recently moved, and Rain City Maids did our move-out clean for our former house, earlier today. We had 4 cleaners. Their time window to arrive was between 11am and 12 noon. Thankfully, Miranda showed up shortly after 11am. Miranda was pleasant, cheerful, helpful, and professional. I was very happy to have her and the other 3 ladies clean for us today. Miranda did a walk through of the house with me when she arrived. She said that it is one of the cleanest houses that she has ever seen. She said that Rain City Maids cleans houses every other week that are way dirtier than our house after just 2 weeks of the cleaners not working in them. We lived in that house for 4 years, and we did all of the cleaning of the house ourselves up until the move-out clean, so that made me feel really good. I'm going to get a big head now, haha. But she isn't the only one to have said that - the heating unit serviceman and a couple of other vendors also made comments to that effect years ago. Yay for a clean house! Miranda kindly told me that she would do the walk through of the house with each one of the other 3 cleaners when they arrived. That was super nice since then I could get on with my work for the day and no longer worry or wonder about when the other 3 cleaners would arrive. I did notice that all 3 of them arrived within the agreed-upon time window, but I only had to look up from my work for about 5 seconds to greet each one, then I was able to get right back to my work. Very nice. I had scrubbed out the fridge and freezer myself, super thoroughly, for about 2 hours, even though that is on their list of move-out clean services. When I showed the insides of the fridge and freezer to Miranda, her eyes got really big and she said, "it looks brand new!" (It is 3 - 4 years old.) Then she asked me if I wanted a job working for Rain City Maids! I couldn't quite tell if she was actually offering me a job or if she was simply giving me a nice compliment, but I felt great either way. Miranda had them take the fridge and the freezer off of my bill, which ended up to be 1 hour off of my total cost. That was super worth it, and I feel really proud of myself for how beautiful the fridge and freezer look. I had vacuumed the entire house myself as well yesterday, mostly because I knew that they would have 4 people on the job that day, so I wanted them to start with a freshly vacuumed floor so that they weren't walking a lot of dirt around the house. (The movers had understandably left more dirt on our carpets during our move than I think we've ever had in our house for the entire 4 years we've lived here... we're very clean, and we're also a shoes-off-at-the-front-door house, but of course we were not about to ask the movers to change their shoes in the middle of moving heavy pieces of furniture out the door.) The insides of the windows, which Rain City Maids washed today, all look great. Miranda did an awesome job of cleaning the oven, which is something that I can't stand cleaning myself. The cleaners wiped down all of the window sills, thoroughly cleaned the bathrooms to the highest standard, dusted the blinds and other things, and swept and mopped all of the hard floors - tile, laminate, and stone. The bathrooms, showers, and floors all look sparkling clean. We thought that it was an excellent value for the work that was done. We would not hesitate to use Rain City Maids again, and we would definitely recommend them to others who are looking for a reliable, professional, thorough housecleaning company. From start to finish, the whole experience was incredible, especially since I've never hired a cleaner before. When my roommate moved out, I knew it was time to invest in some deep cleaning to get peace of mind that the room has been "refreshed," and I cold comfortable walk into the bedroom and bathroom barefoot without being grossed out. I discovered Rain City Maids on Yelp, but noted there were many other cleaners in the area. The reason I went with Rain City Maids was because of the great value, responsiveness of staff (including the owner, Ben, on Yelp messages), and ease of booking the cleaning service itself. You can get an instant price on their website by filling out a form. I love that you can check and uncheck items you want the cleaner to cover, with a real-time price update. My buying cycle was a little longer because I wasn't quite sure when my roommate would move out. Someone called me from Rain City Maids and was super helpful answering my questions. When it was time to book, the person on the other line walked me through everything. I had questions about what's included, cost to add certain areas of the house, etc. and the employee was amazing at making me feel comfortable giving them my business. Prior to the cleaning, I got an email confirmation reminder, and the day of the service, I couldn't be home and arranged access. As soon as I walked in my condo when I got home, I could immediately tell a difference. The whole home looked brand new, bright, and sparkly as if no one had lived there before. By the front, there was a deep cleaning checklist showing everything my cleaner, Victoria, went through in detail (ex. clean interior of appliances, stainless steel, wipe front of cabinets, scrub and sanitize bath tub, etc.). This cleaning checklist was so professional, and I loved reviewing all the hard work Victoria put in. On the back, she left notes where some items were stained a certain way, but she worked as hard as she could to get it cleaner. I've never had home cleaning service before but have always wanted to and finally pulled the trigger as it was just getting to be too much with work-life balance and kids. I asked my friends for recommendations and one of them had mentioned Rain City Maids. She said that they were a little pricier than others but she's been happy with them (and she's pretty particular about things so if she's happy, then they must be good!) I sent a quote request through Yelp (along with a few other companies) and they were the only ones that actually got back to me with a quote (others were asking for size of my home, wanted to come look at the space for a price quote, etc) AND they gave me a call to follow-up on my quote request within a few hours of my request. I was able to book them for that same week and was provided with emails on what to expect, reminders, etc. The two maids showed up within the time frame they quoted me and just jumped straight in to it. I was quote for 2 hours of service but as they were nearing the end of their time, they asked if it would be ok if they stayed an extra 15 minutes each. The owner even called me to confirm that they had spoke to me to validate the extra service time. I felt like the time they were asking for was justified and they weren't just working slowly purposefully. Their manager also showed up to do a quality check of their work and could be seen wiping down the door frames and doing little extra touches. Afterwards, my hubs and I were both impressed at how clean the floor felt and how they got all the little crevices in the bathroom and even removed some soap that had been stuck since we moved in to the home! They followed up with an email asking how the service went and when I asked questions, they responded right away and answered all the questions that I had. read more

A small army descended on my house and did a deep cleaning in three hours. They took direction well, were clear on what tasks were covered, and politely neglected to point out when I was hovering. (Not covered: windows unless previously requested, dishwashing, clothes washing, pet waste.) I booked online, they provided a quote up front, and further communication was done in email as I requested. (Other places have followed up by phone, in spite of my request for email communication.) Final price matched the quote, which was in line with my expectations for a deep cleaning. I recommend asking them in advance how long the cleaning is expected to take and how many people will be working, if that matters to you - from what I could see, that information wasn't provided by default in their communication with me. read more

We hired them and they gave us a quote based on square feet. They brought gals they were training and went over the same places more than once and didn't clean others. After cleaning only 12/ of our house, they told us they would need to quote us more to do our entire house. I felt like they scammed us and didn't clean well at all! The cleaning ladies were very friendly. I asked them to do a little bit more of a deep cleaning than what my maid usually does. The house was not dirty to begin with. They arrived st 11.35. 3 ladies. After two hours, I got a call from their office to find out if I wanted to add another hour so they could finish.....? I was given this gift card for a deep cleaning a year ago for $350 ish. My house is only 2200 sf. I was shocked when I received that call. These ladies were extremely slow. A couple of times I had to check on them to make sure they were actually cleaning. Overall the house was clean but no way I feel I would need to add time in order for them to finish. Also, very rude that they left without saying a word. I felt that once they found out I wasn't adding an additional hour, it's like I did not matter anymore. Not impressed and will not recommend this company read more

This is a difficult review as I have been using RCM for the past 3 years without incident. First, let me start by saying that nearly all the people who have come to my house to work have been very good, friendly, and accommodating. The reason for this negative review is due to an experience I had with customer service in the office yesterday and again today. After the pandemic began, I requested that they do not send a "trainee" along as I wanted to limit the number of people my family interacts with for obvious reasons after they sent an extra person right at the start of the quarantine. I was assured that it would be noted and taken care of. Yesterday during my monthly service, once again a trainee was sent. I emailed the office to remind them of my request and their commitment and received a response telling me that they could not promise this would not happen again and understand if I wanted to stop doing business with them. Taken aback, I called the office today to clarify and was told that they noted the account, but claimed they never committed to not send a trainee and they were sorry to see me go. Wow, I guess they have quite a good revenue stream during Covid, so I canceled my service and am going with a competitor. All this to say, if you do not care about being valued as a paying customer then the actual workers will do a good job cleaning your home. If you believe that if a business makes a commitment to you it should be honored and respected, then you will want to look elsewhere. **** To answer Ben's response, it is simply an untrue statement that I was in anyway informed that RCM would not commit to honoring my request; in fact, the exact opposite was told to me. A company can post any canned legal statement about their Covid safety procedures, yet that does not excuse them from saying one thing to their clients, and then back-peddling on Yelp in an attempt to cover their unprofessional business decisions. I leave it to the reader to determine who is telling the actual facts in these posts. I had originally given two stars as I did like the actual cleaners, however, the owners response had me reduce to only 1 star. read more

I had a truly horrible experience with Rain City Maids. We paid them $700 to do a deep clean of our five bedroom home. They cleaned only two out of our three bathrooms, one of our five bedrooms, and did a rushed and sloppy job on the rooms they did clean. The floor was so sticky I had to re-mop it all myself. They claimed to spend 10 hours but I could have done a better job myself in half that time. They refused to adjust the price to reflect the amount of square footage they actually cleaned. Once you authorize that credit card payment when you book the service, you're out of luck if they do poor work. I would not recommend booking with this company. In response to Ben's comment below: Your reply is not only untrue, it is offensive. I keep my home clean. Your service has cleaned our home many many times in the past and you knew exactly how big it is. We did not add onto the square footage since you last cleaned our home. I did attempt to dispute your fraudulent charge with my credit card company because you charged me for ten hours of work when clearly your team was not in my home anywhere near that long based on the work that was completed. The credit card company refused to reverse the charge so you absolutely did get paid. Your response is dishonest and incredibly unprofessional. read more
