Entrance to the restaurant was a pleasant and welcoming feeling. We were warmly greeted and the staff actually looked us in the eyes and gave a genuine smile. A lot of places the workers don't even look at you as they say "welcome". They're either looking at the table as they're clearing or down at the floor. My daughter and I stopped in about 20 minutes to close to see if we could get take out because we didn't want to delay them having to close up. They were so nice and accommodating and told us it was completely fine to dine in. The restaurant was clean and felt very nice. Anytime we go to a sushi or Thai restaurant we always have to try the tempura vegetables. These were hands-down, the best tempura vegetables and broth we've had! Delicious big cuts of vegetable, not greasy whatsoever and just so tasty! Another must try is the pad Thai. It's another staple that we try anytime. We find a good Thai restaurant. My daughter's exact words were "Dad, this is the best pad Thai we've had in a long time." We also got the BSC roll which was fantastic, I'd definitely recommend it. Unfortunately, we weren't able to try any of the curries but hopefully can go back and try them as well, they look delicious! This place was so disgusting I ordered the Mongolian beef and sticky rice. The meat literally had no flavor, the sticky rice was a ball of rice in a plastic bag inside a warmer. The food was very good along with good service. The interior was clean everything was in its proper place. The one negative I have is they appear to not follow their posted hours of operation. I have been here a few times...however my last experience ended my desire to ever come here again...the young man that greeted me would not seat me and my wife and grandson because the other 2 people in our party were still outside (there was nobody in the restaurant) After waiting a few minutes...I asked him if we could be seated as we were hungry and wanted to order...he said "we close in 15 minutes so you need to order quickly ". Which seemed counterproductive to making us wait to be seated! We told him don't worry about it...we will go elsewhere. Fast and helpful service.. nice they both have full menu of sushi and full menu of Thai. The beef noodle soup is fantastic. Not too salty and full of flavor. I got a side of crushed red pepper to add in the soup. Also had a salmon roll. You can tell its fresh and hasn't been sitting out. We ate here last night and the service was excellent and staff were friendly and attentive but the Thai food was mediocre at best. It was very watered down and soupy like and vegetables were raw and uncooked in my green chicken curry that I had received. One of the worst I've ever eaten. My wife and daughter ordered and liked the sushi rolls that they received and the Thơm Kha soup had more flavor than my curry. The chicken satay was so so and stringy and the peanut sauce lacked flavor. The cucumber salad was a refreshing treat but overall I think this place falls short of my expectations of a good Thai Restaurant and should be a lot better but was very disappointing. read more

The pad Thai was pretty delicious and had great flavor. Fried rice with chicken was alright, rice felt sticky and lacked flavor. The portion size seemed really small and was $18 per entree. We waited for almost 10-15 minutes before we got severed and the guy wasn't very friendly. I notice the table that sat after us got better service and was able to order their meal upon sitting down. I don't know if the workers know the locals but they definitely seem to cater to folks who are local. Not sure I would try again might want to try different Thai place. read more

We were staying overnight in Mesquite and used Yelp to find a well-regarded Thai restaurant. When we saw Rain had sushi it was a double bonus! We were greeted warmly and served by the same waiter. The waiter's attitude throughout the experience was friendly, helpful and gracious. The food was five-stars for what we ordered. The chef came out to check on us after both the sushi and the hot Thai courses and came out to wish us a warm departure and "please come back" after we finished. Food, service, and ambience were all strong suits at Rain Thai. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about their dishes and their spice ratings(important for a Thai restaurant). I've now eaten there 2 times and thoroughly enjoyed my experience each time. Another important feature of Rain Thai restaurant is that they offer quite a good selection of "non-Thai" dishes for those folks who, for whatever reason, don't like, or can't tolerate Thai dishes. Now Thai fans and non-Thai fans can dine together! Many of them are Chinese dishes and the one that I tried, the Mongolian Beef, was Delicious. Definitely NOT an after thought slapped on the dinner menu! Pericles, the owner, makes a great effort to come around and check on every table to find out who everyone is and how their meal is going, and to make you feel very welcome and "at home", and the waitstaff is on top of the game. One thing I noticed was that there was a couple dining there the same evenings that we were there. It could have been a coincidence, but I have a feeling that the couple were what you would call "regulars". This restaurant has a real designed atmosphere that a lot of restaurants in small towns don't seem to be able to pull off, or even attempt. We were visiting in Mesquite and were first impressed by the cleanliness of Rain Thai and Sushi. The restrooms were clean, as well as the rest of the establishment. We had Chow Mein, Pad Thai, and a couple of sushi rolls. Everything was delightful. The Chow Mein was mild, if you like less spicy. The pad Thai was flavorful and good.
