Previously we had trouble with water pooling in the backyard and draining into our crawl space, but all that ended with our new excellent French drain system. Albert is a rare find, someone who cares about his clients receiving excellent systems, at a reasonable price, with no hassle/no problems. His team was a joy to have on the property during project work, and easy to communicate with. Albert was available throughout the project to support his team, and answer our questions. He was even available to check in with during the first rainstorm after the french rains was installed, which happened to be the heaviest precipitation in one storm since 1850. We had our gutter system and rain harvesting tanks installed a few weeks ago. Albert came to our home to give us a quote and was able to come back the very next day with his crew to get the job done. After an addition and other house maintenance, we needed a drainage system as well as all new gutters/downspouts. As usual, I did my research and got several bids. All of the potential providers had excellent reviews but I was especially impressed with the intelligent way Albert addressed the issues that we faced. He has a lot of experience and has done a lot of research to provide the best results. We have an underground stream several lots behind and also we are downhill from everyone's watering systems/pool clean out so it all heads toward our house. Albert advised and installed a French drain system coordinated with a sump pump. It's been tested by several storms and it works. He also advised and installed a fan system in the crawl space to dramatically reduce moisture/mold. It's on a timer and runs for an hour per day. Again, it works and we have noticed a positive difference. Albert also personally installed all new gutters and downspouts. He recommended materials and color choice and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. We had a little blip in a couple of areas where things weren't level plus we had roof "crickets" due to additions but he came out promptly and solved the issues. All is now working well. This is a long overdue review of the work that Albert completed at our house. Back in 2013 I contacted Albert to begin the discussion of capturing rainwater. Fast forward a couple of years, and in 2015 we were finally ready to move forward (house needed a new roof, and new paint). I wanted to capture as much as possible, without just having tanks sitting everywhere. The problem is that our yard doesn't have much space to store big tanks, and the main area where the roof sheds water is a narrow walkway. After discussing with Albert via email, phone calls, and finally an in person consultation, we had a plan! He had the great idea of installing a 40 gallon rain barrel as a sump tank, and with a sump pump, the water would be moved about 40-50 feet away to a 530 gallon tank in the driveway. We then placed 2 other 305 gallon tanks on the sides of the house for the other areas of run off. Of course, the water needed to get to the tanks, so he also installed seamless aluminum gutters with stainless steel leaf screens. Now, instead of a messy runoff of water everywhere, and watching the rain run down the street or alley, we quickly fill up our rainwater and use it around the yard. :) My only wish was for more space to place additional tanks! His prices were great, and so was his work. As a follow-up to the original install, we were having some issues (in early 2020) with the way water would flow off our roof in one area, and the sump tank developed a leak. We just bought a new house, and realized that our outside patio was really basically like a basement, but with no drainage, at the bottom of a hill. The recent heavy rainfall dumped more than 6" in Vista, and left us with a high water table and what we realized to be a seasonal spring under our property... this caused the heavily saturated soil to slowly seep water into our finished basement. Water continued to seep in for weeks after the rains had stoped and the mitigation company really couldn't do anything more until the water was contained. In the Spring of this year, we found Albert of Rain Water Systems and asked him to help us design a rainwater collection system. Thanks to his expertise, most of the rainwater that falls on our roof is now directed into four huge tanks. These tanks became a significant feature of our automatic irrigation system. Rainwater from the tanks is used first, supplemented when necessary by water from the city. Rain in May proved the plan worked well. A potential problem with the gutter installation along one edge of our patio roof was quickly and innovatively solved, much to our relief and satisfaction. The only negative we can think of is that there are limited style options for the seamless rain gutters, though the seamless feature was more important than style. Highly recommend this company if you have any sort of rain water issue you need fixed. In our case, we had a lot of water settling under the house due to heavy rain and we also had a gutter system that was installed incorrectly by our previous contractor. We had already recently replaced the foundation, which was not cheap, and our foundation was still getting flooded so we called Albert and it was the best decision we made. He was fast to respond and was very knowledgeable. He proposed a new gutter system and a sump pump system to eliminate the standing water issues and quoted us a very fair price; we had quoted multiple contractors but we decided to go with Albert because unlike many contractors we've dealt with... they're never on the job site.
