For example, a Virginia Tire and Auto shop near me suggested that I have all kinds of work done to my 2005 Acura RL. A bit suspicious, I took it to Mr. Oh for a second opinion. He thoroughly examined my vehicle and at the end of the day suggested that it was fine. He was able to give me sound advice, which I trust! I am pretty savvy under the hood but sometimes I need a real mechanic. I thought my 4WD pickup had an issue with the front end because noise was emanating from there at least so I thought. The issue was in the rear as the back brake pads had worn at only 10K miles. One of the inner pads wasn't sliding correctly. The cost for diagnosis was an hour (which I would have never figured out) and I replaced the rear rotors and brake pads myself. They were correct as this was the issue and there is no more noise. Good deal for a mechanic that doesn't kill you with what they ask for in labor rates. read more

My family life can depend on my auto care. There price is great and service you can't compare to others. My brake was making some squeaking noise and I took it to Rainbow auto. They told me the brake pads are worn but they still had 2-3 months of use left. Nothing but the truth. He didn't charge me anything for inspecting the brakes. This wasn't just something that happened to us once. They are always friendly and truly care about their customers. Mr. Oh (the owner) has always been straight forward and honest. Let me tell you about this place. I've been going to these people for years. In the early days, I knew that I needed brakes on my old junk station wagon. They were squealing bad when I braked while turning. I went to Rainbow with my checkbook and a magazine and was ready to spend a few hours. The owner put the old car on the lift and spent a short time before coming and getting me to look. I was thinking, "Oh man! Here's where he shows me how bad it's going to be for my wallet." He told me that I didn't need brakes. Then he showed me a bolt on the calipers that had worked loose and was scraping on the inside of the wheel. He said that all I need is for him to tighten the bolt back up and it'll be fine. "No charge." WHAT!!! He said no charge because he didn't do anything. Man, was I happy. I had my money and was ready to have some expensive brake work done. I don't know anything about fixing cars. He could have cheated me good and I would never know the difference. I had to talk him into taking $50 for what he did but he didn't want it. That's why I keep going back to this place. I don't have to worry about getting scammed and that's worth a lot to me.
