This was a reasonable dinning experience with good food but not great.
The shrimp cocktail was large, firm, and good, the "spicy" cocktail sauce was more sweet than spicy and could of used some more horseradish and lemon but I think the best you'll get in the Region. My steak was the Woodsman Steak, a ribeye, that was ordered medium and was served medium-well to well done in sections as it was cooked unevenly, it was dry and tough as a result and lacked for seasoning. I didnt finish the steak and was given a $10 discount on it, and the waiter did ask if I wanted another one cooked initially.
The garlic mashed potatoes were very good. The salad was good. My wife had Salmon that she said was good.
We also tried the lobster ravioli and was okay, the pasta was thick and dry, chewey not the soft and tender delicate ravioli you'll get at Italian restaurant in the North End of Boston so it took away from the enjoying the lobster, but sauce was good just needed more.
The atmosphere was loud and casual, the lights were very dim, the wait staff was friendly but we certainly had to wait for drinks and were not asked about a 2nd round to have with dinner.
We skipped dessert, the portions were larger than expected. read more
