We called as we were on our way and the staff could not be kinder sharing news that our room was ready early! Upon arriving the team was helpful navigating the area with tips on traffic for attending Steelers Training Camp in the morning. Breakfast had a nice variety but unfortunately no waffle maker that we tend to look forward to if staying in a similar type hotel. We enjoyed the water, tea, and coffee that is available in the lobby throughout the day and night. The hotel was quiet, clean, and accommodating to make our stay worry-free!

The tv was on a swivel so you could watch from the bed or the couch. Shower was nice and hot with good water pressure and includes shampoo/conditioner/body wash mounted on the shower wall. We stopped at the bar one evening for wine. The selection was limited as they were out of many choices for red wine. The bartender was friendly and accommodated us as best as she could. Breakfast was decent. The waffles tasted like pure sugar so you might want to avoid those. They also offered scrambled eggs and sausage one more and breakfast sandwiches another. The standard bagels, cereal and fruit were also available. Coffee was good. Michele was working hard in the morning keeping things stocked and fresh.

Positives: Dawn was extremely friendly, and we got to meet one of her kittens. I think she genuinely wanted us to feel welcome. The B&B is in a convenient location if you want to explore the shops around the square. Negatives: Everything in the room felt like it needed an update. The bed itself and bathroom were clean, but the rest of the room didn't feel extremely clean. The carpet was stained pretty badly, which gives me "Icks". The shower is also VERY small. I'm not sure how a large man would make that work. The biggest problem we had was that, when she took us to our room, she informed us that we would be having breakfast at a restaurant down the street in the morning. She handed us a beat up menu and said to tell them we were a guest there. We were pretty taken aback. Part of the reason we booked this B&B, or any B&B for that matter, is the homemade breakfast experience, prepared by your host. The description on the website, bragged about her wonderful breakfasts. Once we figured out that the "restaurant " was actually a bar and grill, we decided to go find a good breakfast out of town. So, we paid twice for our breakfast. Our trip to Ligonier was nice, but the B&B experience was a little disappointing. You may want to make sure she's serving breakfast

However when we arrived, which was well after the allowed check-in time, we found no one there and also the street, parking area, steps and sidewalk were all covered in 6 or more inches of snow. We phoned her and she was rather rude. She then came to the inn but at that pint we were not able to wait for her to try and clear the snow. We told her we would find lodging elsewhere--she agreed to a full refund but then never gave us refund. She eventually did refund us but not full amount. We should have gotten full refund. It is hotel/lodging responsibility to provide clear/safe passage to their establishments. I would never recommend this property.

The location is really convenient. A 5 minute drive will get you to dozens of places to eat (both unique and chain, sit down or quick service). The cafe and lobby area are very well maintained, and the front desk staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating. The pool is small, but clean and maintained perfectly. There's also a hot tub. Looking into the pool area is the workout room. As is generally the case, both require room key to enter. We booked a suite, which had a King bed and a sofa with pullout. Both the bed and the sofa faced a television. The sofa had a larger TV with game station hookups. My only complaint is that the photo and description of the suite showed a pull across room divider (to separate the couch area and bed), which was the primary reason we booked the suite. But there is no room divider at all; it's essentially one big open room. The room had a newer mini fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom was updated and well stocked. The bed was fresh, and comfortable. Marriott could certainly take a few pointers from the Hilton brand - in app check in, app keyless entry, app requests, etc. However, our stay here was perfect and we would certainly stay again.

Apparently fell on hard times with a fire in the older section since demolished and economic hard times in 2009, the previous owners were forced to sell. Previously called Mountain View Inn, was reopened under new owners at the Inn at Mountainview around 2010. It's still a very nice hotel with very large expansive rooms that were very comfortable. Rooms included a refrigerator, microwave, free Wifi and a large listing on cable with excellent wide screen TV. Service is excellent and there is a business center just off of the lobby. Only complaint was the complimentary continental breakfast which was meager at best but then again, I've found very few complimentary breakfast at any hotel than amounted to anything unless they had a full service restaurant as part of the restaurant. As far as value, it's definitely worth it. Used to be priced at the high end but new owners have priced it competitively and now it falls into the mid-tier range and as such, would highly recommend.
