In June I went to get an estimate to have my car painted, a dent in the rear bumper removed, and a replacement of one of the black strips on the roof because an end had come loose and I'd cut it off. Tom gave me the estimate, which I considered to be reasonable, and said the removal of the dent would cost an extra $100. Since it had been there for many years, I didn't care if it cost extra. The work was performed the final week of June. We had agreed that Tom would paint only the tops of the doors since the bottoms were in good shape, and he would put striping along the division. He painted the rest of the minivan because it was badly in need of it. When he called to tell me the car was ready, I went and picked it up. Not only had he done a great painting job, he had fabricated two strips for the roof because the original kind weren't made anymore; replaced the bumper because if the dent had been bashed out, there would have been cracks in the bumper; replaced one of the struts on the rear hatch door because the door would only stay up if the temperature was above a certain warmth; and replaced the ignition switch and made two new keys because it took multiple tries for the key to turn in the switch and he feared that I would be stuck one day. The subtle striping added class to my old vehicle. When I asked the total amount in order to make out my check, he stated the original estimate. I protested, saying that he'd made all those extra improvements that we hadn't discussed. He said, "It was an ESTIMATE!" Of course, I was more than pleased. He also gave me some touch-up paint for a few spots on the lower edges of two doors. During the entire process Tom was kind, friendly and straightforward. I didn't care what state of order or disorder the shop was in--I was impressed by the good work and that I didn't have to go out of town to have my car painted. read more

Tom and his team were great in all the ways that mattered! We took my girlfriend's car here and had a great experience. Tom gave me a quote that was 5 to 10 percent better than the competition. When I explained the financial pressure that my girlfriend was under, he worked with us on which parts could be after-market and reduce the price further (at the cost of taking longer to order and ship). We worked together to find the right mix of price and speed that worked for us. I called Tom every few days for updates and he was patient and thorough with his communications with me. (Ie, he put up with me being a pain). In the end, we got exactly what we wanted at a great price, with great service. What more can you ask for. I read a negative review below that said his office was a mess. I can confirm that it's a mess and that I don't care. Rainbow is obviously a family owned shop that's been in business, happily serving local customers, for years. I'm fine with a shop that lacks the professional office of a large impersonal corporation! Just give me the right service at the right price and I won't judge your office clutter. read more

Brought my car in for body repair estimate. The place was in complete shambles. Filthy, messy, completely unorganized, dirty, dangling cobwebs, just crap everywhere. Very scary- it was like an episode of hoarders. It's worth one star to just visit to get a good laugh to see for yourself. I can't believe this place is still in business. Had rub marks down to the metal on the back of my cab from the gasket on a camper shell. Went to 6 different shops in the area. All of these shops wanted to paint 3/4 of the truck for close to $1500 or more. Tom at Rainbow quoted 1/3 of this price and said it was an easy fade. Although the owner Tom and his staff were accommodating. And the repairs were done well the final results are disappointing. They had my car for over 3 weeks and no communication as to why. The person working on my car got COVID so my car sat. They did a couple extra things and I appreciate that but the way my car was returned to me was unacceptable. When I called Tom the owner said he had been out of town. Tom you were there when I picked up my car. You should have inspected it. I had to return it to be cleaned (see pictures). The owner returned it to me after it was cleaned and it wasn't any better. I spent 2 hours cleaning the inside. It's still not clean so I will pay to have it professionally done. This weekend I had a passenger in my backseat only to find out my seatbelt clip was stuck behind the seat fender molding. I had to return my car again. I went to this facility because the person who hit me recommended it. I will not return to this repair facility again. read more
