I got there at 10 AM and did not leave until almost 1. I got a basic pedicure and ANC on my nails. The pedicure was garbage. The woman doing it could not care less about me and did not even say hi. She cut my nails diagonal and the polish is already chipping off of almost all of my toes which never happens. Not worth $25. When it came time for my ANC, I had 3 different people touch my nails to get my gel off. When the girl was doing my nails I asked if she could do french ombre. I was willing to pay more. She asked her coworker and she said "Yes, but it will be different." So... you can't. Just say that. She drilled my nails so thin that they look like they're falling off. Also I was charged $5 to take my nails off, $5 for tips, and $5 for the "coffin" shape which isn't even coffin. I asked for tapered square... which I got... which is NOT coffin. I was too exhausted to say something after that experience. My nails have been holding up but I will not be returning. The place looks nice on the inside but its miserable. read more

I suffer from horrible back pain and usually avoid massages because I'm not able to get up from the massage table after being on my abdomen. I love coming here the staff are always nice and professional, especially Kiki. I have been coming to this Nail Spa since 2012. I tried others in between the years and am never happy with anyone else. Kiki is very professional and great at what she does. I have her do my nails and eyebrows every time. I went here for the short 2 years I lived in Albany... I like the salon, its set up nicely. I forgot his name, but the only man who does nails there is great. Always went to him and was impressed. The only thing I can really complain about is the fact the other staff werent so friendly, and how I watched them water-down all the colors... I hate seeing that and the fact salons do it... It makes your nails chip faster, and have to come in sooner. Also the prices were super high compared to what I pay for in Long Island. $13 compared to $7 down here. This place used to be so great to go to with their prices and staff but it has gone down hill tremendously. Last three times I have been there I have gotten a women that has completely hacked me up. This time was the last straw and was the crappiest job she has ever done. Left without getting my nails painted and complained to the front desk. If I am giving you my hard earned money every 2 - 3 weeks then personally I do not feel like I should be given a dirty look or attitude when I ask you nicely to fix something that I do not like and DON'T use your dirty finger nail to push my cuticles back that is what tools are for that should be soaking in disinfectant. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. They're completely unprofessional. The owner told my friend who I was there with that I never tipped my nail guy.. when I actually did. I told her I'm putting the tip on my card and she said ok that's good. So to go to my friend and tell her I didn't tip is ridiculous. She didn't deserve a tip at all to be honest. I got an ANC manicure and she was so rushed, I swear the whole thing took all of 10 minutes. My nails weren't even filed properly and they were all jagged. I had to go back and file them myself. The place itself isn't very clean. I saw a few dead bugs in the corner. Anyway, definitely won't be back. There are plenty of better nail salons than this place. Trust me. read more

Don't even waste your time going here! I waited an hour and 20 minutes for a fill. Then they tried to charge me $3 to remove gel color that they applied and obviously has to be removed to do a fill. Had a good pedicure experience here and would go back. A friend recommended the place and I called last minute as I was driving there, said I could be there in 5 minutes and they got me right in. Seemed very clean. The only negative was the nail polish I chose seemed to be old. The woman clearly noticed as she had to take it off and start over, and it seemed like she was talking to a coworker about it (because she was waving the bottle at her, she never actually spoke to me directly). I was more there to have my feet rubbed than anything so I didn't make a fuss about it. But I would have been more impressed if she had suggested a different polish instead of hoping I wouldn't say anything. read more

My friend and I meet in Albany because it is halfway between our two homes. We visited Rainbow Nail on Saturday and the mani pedi was superb. They really went above and beyond with the niceties. I had called and scheduled an appointment for two manicure and pedicures since it was a gift and fun thing to do for a friend's birthday. When I got to the salon a few minutes early, no one greeted me. My friend was already there and they had started her pedicure, so she told me to come back. I was told to sit in the seat next to her and that someone would be with me shortly by the woman assisting my friend. After 20+ minutes of soaking in then cold water, the kind employee working on my friend asked around for someone to assist me. Although I do not speak the language, multiple employees shook their heads and walked away. Their body language was very clear to me... and other customers foot baths were started. Needless to say, I grew more annoyed with this lack of service (of which I had called ahead for so that the two of us could enjoy together), and my friend's pedicure being 90% complete already, I put my shoes back on and decided against the service. Then all of a sudden, numerous employees suddenly found the time for me and tried to offer me a pedicure. I said no, I'm going to just do my nails. 40 minutes after walking through their doors, the woman finally starting my manicure apologized, and offered me a free pedicure to remedy the poor experience I was receiving. Due to dinner plans afterwards, i told her I did not have the time to do this - so she said that they would give me a slip to receive it another time. I was happy with this remedy, and just asked that next time I come, I would appreciate better service. Then, when checking out with my nail technician, the 'certificate' for a free pedicure went out the window, and then was changed to $5 off my nails. I was too exhausted to be like WTF, so I just paid for my friend and I and left. Does it need to be mentioned that I will never going back to that dump again? The facility is pretty gross, and obviously has awful service, and no respect or appreciation for a customer in their salon. There is nothing that screams 'SPA' about this place. Save yourself the frustration, humiliation, and the possibility of getting jumped when having to park in the dark ally way. read more

Worst manicure and pedicure. I've gone twice, and thought the same thing both times. The girl did not speak at all, she barely gave a massage during the pedicure, she cut my finger, shrugged and said "sorry", she didn't use any cuticle oil (hands or feet) barely used any lotion, she just pointed at things to tell me where to go (instead of simply speaking to me) and when I paid (and tipped her) she did not even say thank you. It's more expensive then most places, the polish all looked old- no new color lines, and the place was scuzzy. Go anywhere else, it really can't be worse. read more

I had the worst experience ever. My usual guy Jim has left who I loved so I settled for the other guy named John who is a middle age guy who sits on the right when u walk in. He was highly upset that he had me for an appointment which was for a full set. He slapped tons of acrylic on my nails all different shapes because he was rushing to get me out of his chair. Once I said they were too thick he started snatching on my hands. I got up and showed one of the head girls now he is really angry. He pulls and buffed my fingers with the machine until I was sore. It was the worst service I had in my history of nail shops. He didnt put the scrub on my hands and skipped my massage because he wanted to get to his anc customer. One of the head girls admitted he does that all the time. He needs to go. If u go there stay away from John!!! read more

I just had a shellac manicure a few hours ago. Since this was the cheapest I could find in the area, I sprung for it. While the salon looks like it used to be in tip-top shape, they've neglected to dust and do basic maintenance and it really shows. Their machines were a bit grungy and the clientele wasn't my favorite. I just wasn't interested in hearing about how one girl who likes certain hard illicit drugs also hits her dog when it misbehaves. But, as an outsider, I have noticed that the Albany area is touch-and-go when it comes to...um... that kind of stuff. It really isn't their fault, anyway, so I didn't incorporate this into my rating. I'm just not used to that kind of thing being socially acceptable, and trust me, I curse up a storm when I drop my eggs in the grocery store. I suppose this is more of a warning about the area than the salon itself. Anyway, my manicurist was very nice and actually did three coats of the gel color, which was great. The only problem was that she didn't give it enough time to cure because she would do it finger-by-finger (i.e. paint pinky, put it in the UV, take it out and paint the ring finger). Therefore, the bottom layers never fully dried and are still a little tacky a few hours later now that I'm at home. I actually made a little nail print just to test it. I don't even know if this stuff can actually cure without the light but I guess we'll see. They were very accommodating when I mentioned a coupon I had seen online, which was nice. However, getting a gel mani that doesn't dry correctly is pretty much pointless. As an outsider from (the dreaded) Long Island, I am used to a nail salon around every block. Because of the competition, they are cleaner and cheaper. My salon at home charges $25 for a gel mani and the facility is in pristine condition. In general I've noticed a trend up here where any type of salon is a little less impressive and a little more expensive. And ya'll thought I was the princess! Overall, not a terrible manicure. However, a salon like this further downstate probably wouldn't stay in business unless they lowered their prices. I just can't believe this is considered cheap up here. Then again, maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places. read more

I went to this nail salon a few days ago and I am still loathing. I was only wanting a fill on my acrylics with gel polish. I think they took advantage of me because I was young. The first guy who I was with did well with my nails and asked me if I wanted my nails cut. It really didn't matter to me, but I said sure. Then, I got switched to this women who painted my nails and had no idea what she was doing. She had to take off the nail polish multiple times. And still when she actually finished my nails aren't even painted all the way down and look messed up like I've had them for weeks. And then when I had to pay she said $29 and I thought it would be $21. They all looked at me like I was crazy. I guess a cut costs $3 even though I wasn't told that when he asked if I wanted it cut. And the gel polish is $10 even though their sign says $5. The lady couldn't even show me any of the correct prices on the sign. I paid the bill, but I am very upset. On another note, a lady behind me was getting her nails done and had to basically yell at the lady to get her nails even. There are only a few good nail technicians here. I'm not going back here again, not worth it. I could've paid a few extra dollars for a full set. I would suggest no one goes here not worth the risk if you ask me. read more

These people are perhaps the best at ANC (color gel/dip powder) in Albany. They're professional enough. Look, there's no Asian salon on the planet that's going to be a pampering spa experience that makes the customer feel super special. That's not how they roll. But again, they do good fast work for a fair price and are especially adept with ANC -- many salons are really not very practiced with the stuff and you walk out looking really weird. Great pedi--got a spa one which included heel treatment, oil massage, hot stone massage, heel scrub with my feet resting on a pedestal thingy, hot stone massage, hot towels, and final heel moisture treatment while he was putting polish on! Really--this whole service should've been $45 and it would've been worth it but it was only $30! If they massaged your shoulders while your toes dried it would've gotten 5 stars! Don't be put off by the fact that this used to be an Asian market...it's kinda tacky inside bit was very clean and had free wi-if! read more

There are much better places. Staff were very aloof and made it seem like we were "a bother". My technition did not speak English and pointed when she wanted me to do something, then got frustrated if I didn't understand right away. Four of us went in for pedicures and all four of us had chipping and peeling polish within 24 hours. Barely used any oils or lotions. Find someplace better to get your money's worth. read more
