I wanted to share a disappointing experience I had today at Polished Nail Salon on Route 9, where I've been a loyal customer for the past several years with Sean. Today, I showed Sean a nail design that I wanted and he agreed to do it. However, when he finished, the design looked nothing like the photo I had provided. Rather than making a scene, I politely asked him privately, away from other customers, if he could either fix the design or change it to a simple solid color. I was surprised when he told me I would have to pay for both the original design and the solid color change. When I asked if he could simply correct the design, he refused. He then stated that the design was expensive, said he would remove it, told me I would only need to pay for my fill and pedicure, and rudely said "THIS IS YOUR LAST TIME IN HERE". Throughout the conversation, I remained respectful and even expressed how much I valued his work and appreciated being a customer for many years. I wasn't asking for anything for free, I simply wanted the design corrected because it did not resemble what I had requested. As a long-time customer, I was hurt and disappointed by the way the situation was handled. Customer service is just as important as the service itself, and unfortunately, today's experience left me feeling dismissed and unwelcome. read more

This nail salon is a 10/10 for me. The staff is so knowledgeable and kind. I usually get ANC with tips, and they almost always are able to accommodate with my schedule. The owner Emily is truly a great human but also incredibly skilled. They offer a variety of services, in a new building, and with reasonable prices. I received a pedicure and regular manicure. I felt that the person who was working on me was rushing. She had me soak my feet for about 1 minute. She barely scrubbed my heels and left pieces of wax all over my ankles after the oil/ wax she had on my heels. She emptied the water out and never wiped off the foam from my feet. Manicure was rushed and poorly done. Imagine a manicure and pedicure in less than 30 minutes total. I will not be coming back. My nails looked better better she worked on them. read more

I LOVED....LOVED how Karen did my nails! I have had acrylic nails for the last 35+ years. The last few years I have been putting gel on top of my acrylics , so I do not have to wait for my nails to dry. What Karen used for my nails is similar to the acrylic and gel combination; it is called "builder gel". It is as strong as the acrylic , but without the sharp smell and dust. It is similar to putting the gel polish, but stronger. I was skeptical about not doing acrylic after 35 years, but I was pleasantly surprised. My nails looked cleaner, and the polish was very shiny. I am was very happy with the results. I drove 30 miles each way from the valley to Pasadena to get my nails done and given how my nails turned out, I have no problem going there every few weeks. The effort here is very low. I wanted ANC with tips and while applying the tips, they were popping off and were crooked. After filing they were all slanted and there is a massive gap between my nail and the tip. They just look awful. The nail salon is bright and clean. They offer a variety of services and have a great selection of colors for ANC, gel and traditional polish. I have been getting gel manicures for a few months there now and the staff has always been friendly, efficient, and have done a very clean manicure. Each time I have gone I have had a different manicurist and they have all been great. I have also had to bring along my 5 year old and they have been accommodating and welcoming to him! This is my new favorite nail salon in Clifton Park It is brand new, all the equipment and chairs are clean and comfortable. They keep the whole place so clean. They offer a variety of pedicures. I tried the the lavender and the the lemon. They really give you a decent massage and if you choose to sit in the chair to dry that is fine with them they don't rush you over to the air dryers. If you went there when they first opened and they were shortstaffed don't worry... They have much more help now and you never have to wait long. It is tastefully decorated with calming spa music, the overall experience is very spa like. I left two other places in Clifton Park because the owner would yell across the room at the workers or they would yell back-and-forth while you were sitting there getting your mani... Can't wait for them to add to their spa services it's in the works! read more

I really wanted to love this place but that was not the case. Maybe I'm too picky. Maybe my expectations are too high. But it really shouldn't be that hard to find a good pedi in the 12118 and 12065 when are over 30 nail salons to choose from in between the two cities! To me a good pedi should be one where you leave with soft feet. Cracked heals and calloused toes should be a thing of the past. A good but brief foot massage, pretty polished nails that have been trimmed and clean. The entire process should take about 30 minutes or so. If I upgrade to a longer massage, then it better be good. Strong hands not a light rub on my calves and more focus on the feet then the legs. I believe in paying for quality, but lately it seems like I'm just paying. Tried this spa out for the first time in desperate need to find and receive a fantastic pedicure. The decor of the space is very posh looking. It's decorated nicely with a center floor check in desk, Queen Ann chairs to wait in, and overall was clean and inviting, and huge. But I'm paying for a service not the decor of a space. The service menu on the wall listed a pedicure for $30. On average I'm accustomed to paying $25 to $30 for a basic pedi. A basic pedi should consist of a good scrubbing and scraping of the feet, clearing away all the cracked dry heals and toes, clean and polished toes, and a brief 1-2 min massage. Upon sitting in the Chair I was given a laminated pedicure menu. Nowhere was the basic $30 pedicure listed, instead the cheapest one was a hot stone massage for $40. My friend opted for the $40 pedicure and 10 minutes after her service began when a nail tech finally came over to begin mine, I was not asked what I wanted, I thought nothing of it and didn't even realize I wasn't asked (as I was chatting with my friend) until I realized that I was getting the hot stone massage when he brought the stones out. He spent literally no time at all working on my dry cracked heels and instead all I got was my feet soaked in a cool not hot bath, my toenails trimmed and filed, and painted and then hot stones rub down on my legs with a 10 minute leg massage. No feet massage. When we were brought over to the drying station there was a notice posted at the drying table that all credit card /debit payments would be charged an additional 3%. If they had mentioned this upon entrance I would've stopped at my bank down the road and took cash out. I was then given my bill and noticed it was a $45 charge BEFORE the 3% increase. I asked why the extra five dollars being that the stone massage that I did not request was $40, and I was told it was an additional $5 for the nail polish!!!! This was just basic nail polish, it wasn't any gel or any type of an upgrade just basic nail polish that should come standard with any pedi!!! Between the upgraded Hot stone pedicure that I did not ask for, the five dollar nail polish charge, and the 3% increase for paying with plastic, my total came to $48 for a less than mediocre 20 minute pedicure!!! I wouldn't mind if the massage at least felt good but it was just a light leg gentle rub!!! As you can see from the picture my heels are still dry and cracked. I've never been so disappointed in a pedicure in my life and let me tell you I've had some pretty lame pedicures! I will never return to this nail spa it was not worth even 1/2 of what I paid. At Polished, I have happily found two nail technicians who are exceptionally good. Lee gives as good a pedicure as I have ever had (and I have tough feet to pedicure). Sean does a great anc. He listens to whatever your concerns are! It is a clean, peaceful salon and I always enjoy my appointments. There is an ATM right in the salon so that you can pay in cash to avoid the extra charge for using a credit card if you forget to bring cash. So it has come time to update my original review. I will say I am very disappointed in the way I was treated the last time I was there. My nails were filed crooked and when I asked to have it filed straight because they looked horrible. I was just simply dropped and a stand by person took over. My pedicure was interrupted by the owner not giving me dedicated time and running back and forth meanwhile she had plenary of help to do the work for her if creating new clients. I felt rushed and after bringing several of my friends to turn this place into the nail salon I am highly disappointed. I leave on average 200-400 a month here and for me to be threaded like this my business will be going elsewhere along with my friends and family. You treat loyal customers like a favor then they take their money and go elsewhere. The staff turn around is nuts by the way. I have had staff have verbal altercations in Chinese where time of voice was inappropriate in several occasions. Non of the new workers understand English and communication is in dyer need of help. Lovely salon. Very peaceful and super clean. The staff is welcoming and most of them are accommodating. David is my favorite by far. He has wonderful people skills and his work is impeccable. My last visit left me slightly unhappy. Cherry assisted me and I found her to be rather rough with my pedicure. There was no customer service from her. She appeared to be in a rush and slightly rude. I have been here many times since Polished was a new salon and continue to be impressed every single time. I have never had a problem with my nails breaking, any sort of reaction, or feeling uncomfortable as to telling them what I want. As with any nail place it depends on the person you get but I have never gotten a bad nail technician at polished. I enjoy every second of my experience and keep coming back. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because I told the original person who was doing my nails to get out of the chair and let someone else do them. I had ANC on from a previous salon. They soaked for about 5 minutes and I noticed that the old ANC hadn't come off all the way (the color had come off but there was still thick white chunks on my nails). I pointed it out to this guy and he got extremely upset with me, throwing my hands around and getting huffy because I wanted them to soak for an extra couple of minutes. When I pointed out to him that he was being rough with me, he slapped my hand down and ended up ripping one of my nails in the process. I told him I wanted someone else doing them and he picked up his stuff and left. So, thank you to Angela for doing a wonderful job. This place is hit or miss. I went 3 weeks ago and had the best ANC I had ever had. Then I went tonight and she literally cut me twice and didn't even apologize. She filed my nail so much that she ripped the skin off my finger. And when I pointed it out to her she didn't say anything about it. It's definitely dependent on who you get. I want to start by saying that I never leave reviews on places but I felt that this place deserves it. I have finally found the nail salon that I will continue to come back to! The technician I had was lovely, my nails look great, the facility is CLEAN, I never felt rushed like I do in most nail salons and I can't stress this enough, THEY HAD A DOG. A beautiful golden retriever named Archie!! He was super friendly and sat with me for quite a while to let me pet him. Hands down the best manicure experience I've ever had. If you decide this is the place for you I highly recommend, nay demand that you bring that good boi treats because he will absolutely steal your heart. Just okay. Overall I like my gel manicure, however there were a few things I don't like. First, the nail technician was way too rough with my cuticles, he basically just pushed them down with one forceful push, wasn't gentle at all. Then after he sanded them down, he brushed the dust off (which did nothing really) and then immediately started painting! I was super confused by that but gave him the benefit of the doubt. So my hands were covered in nail dust when he was painting them, usually I at least wash my hands first. The painting job was alright but a few days later and the paint is already flaking on the sides where he wasn't precise enough. To me, the skin around my nails just looks messy, dead skin flakes, evidence of a rough cuticle job. It was fine for $30 (with tip), but I probably won't come back here. read more

Very disappointed. Spent $40 on gel pedicure this afternoon. Just took a shower tonight and half of it came off!!!! It was all over the skin on my toes and it all came right off my nails when I tried to get a little of what was on my skin off. They are friendly but not talkative just as with most nail places. my technician was a little aggressive while doing my pedicure as I left with a chunk missing from the pad of my foot. I came in for an ANC as this place was recommended to me by a friend. To remove my old polish, they used the grinding tool with cotton soaked in nail polish remover and foil. This would have been fine, however, they moved me from chair to chair to chair with a total of 3 different technicians as they brought other customers in ahead of me. They allowed me to sit for an hour with my nails soaking while they completed manicures for these other customers before moving me to yet another chair and another technician to complete my nails. She did a beautiful job, but it took a total of an hour and 45 minutes. By this time the place had cleared out and one of the technicians was clearing his throat and snorting snot into his throat. When I glanced up at him he was picking his nose with his thumb and just smiled at me as he knew he had been caught. He then went over to the sink where customers wash their hands and blew snot rockets directly into the sink. Absolutely disgusting! I will NEVER return to this place! read more
