I wanted to love this place since it's a family business and the girls are really sweet, but wow. Getting my nails done is my favorite relaxing thing to do. When you go and get cut the way I did it's not an enjoyable experience. I've been cut many times in the past at other salons, but never like this. Had the paint job been up to standard I would've been fine with it, but I have air bubbles also. My finger nail kept bleeding and she didn't seem to have that blue liquid that stops the bleeding because she just kept wiping it. I couldn't take the pain anymore and just told her put a band aid on it and leave it alone. $19 wasted on a manicure. Can't say I would ever go back. read more

I got a gelish manicure a week ago at Rainbow Nails. Thuy did a wonderful job and I have to say that I have had gelish done at over 4 different locations in Ocala (Central Florida) and have never had anyone do such a beautiful job and in a less amount of time, EVER. They look gorgeous as if I just got them done and she is a lovely and charming girl to chat with. It seems like a very friendly and busy place. Parking in a garage that was less than 500 feet away was 3$ for 2 hours. There are many shops and restaraunts nearby. I did not get a pedicure there yet,but, I had a view of them being done and the workers seemed to be doing a very good job at polishing and buffing feet/heels which is the main reason I go to get pedicures instead of doing them myself. read more

I am here cause i would like to say that Michelle S probably was not in the same saloon i have been going for many years now. I live in Brickell and i know i am not the only one that runs thru traffic and plan her day just to drive there and have the best manicure you can have in town. I think they are super nice, they never rush to finish, actually they even wait for me when i was stocked in traffic. I dont use Chanel, so i am not sure what the message was about. It could also be the way we respect and treat them that gives the mirror effect. Got a mani-pedi at Rainbow on Saturday. My technician's name was Jackie. She was very, very nice and did a great job. My fingernails were shaped perfectly, and the color on my toes was done very neatly. I like that their lotion isn't obnoxious-smelling like some places. Their massage chairs are quite robust, which I like, and they stock a ton of magazines to keep you entertained. The salon is a bit shabby looking, and the technicians could use some updated equipment. They use rolling stools on which patrons sit their feet for their pedicures, but they're dealing with a relatively small space. Two of my pet peeves (that I have become quite used to because everyone seems to do it) were going on at Rainbow, which is unfortunate. They include (1) no one staffing the front desk - - you just walk in and yell across the room to a random person who is doing someone's nails, and (2) music supplied by regular radio stations. I don't want to listen to car dealership commercials in between crappy music. I still give four stars because Jackie did a nice job, the price is right, and the people were friendly. read more

After a horrible experience at a local nail salon (Kimmy's..do not go) I walked across the street to Rainbow Nails, which was closed, but willingly opened up the store for me and offered a FREE manicure because I ran out of money from having to pay for the broken bottle at Kimmy's (of course I had a friend bring over some money and I tipped them appropriately for their undeserved kindness). This is not a nail SPA, it's a nail salon. A pretty damn good and efficient one too. I stopped by spur of the moment because my toes were in desperate need of some TLC and I'd aways seen this place when I visited Sunset. They took me in without appointment thankfully and I picked my color. They had a nice variety and some polishes were old looking but they had a lot more of new colors and bottles too. I was escorted to one of the pedicure chairs which had those comfy fleece blankets draped over it and a cute pillow for your back. My guess is their chairs got old and they couldn't replace them quite yet but I thought they looked cute and cozy (which they were.) I had an eye out for the utensils and like I said this isnt a spa so the tools werent pulled out of sterilized packs but they did have alcohol and that blue liquid and that was enough for me. Yes they use tubs for your feet but they come with a plastic lining that is much more sanitary than the usual pedicure chair tubs and they are being used at a lot more salons now. My guy did a great job on my pedicure, quick but a lot of attention to detail at the same time. The polish application was awesome and I can't stop looking at my toes. A clean and well done job for sure! The employees here are very comfortable at their workplace. No one is walking around like robots in uniforms all quiet and hard at work. These people work hard but have fun while they do it too. They were all talking at all times and messing around with one another so if that's not your thing maybe you won't enjoy this place. They're cheap, pretty clean, and really fast! I think it's $35 for a mani/pedi, and $30 for a Gelish Mani. The tech didn't do my Gelish right because she got it on my cuticles, which meant that as my nails grew out the Gelish started to lift a bit. Wish she had done it properly, but I'll probably go back and see if it's better next time, because their gel manis are $20 cheaper than anywhere else in Miami. The Gelish mani is supposed to last 2-3 weeks, whereas mine only lasted about one week before lifting. The biggest downside to this place is that the smell of acetone and other chemicals hits you like a brick wall as you walk in. I'm shocked that I didn't leave with a massive headache at the end. read more

After reading some of the older reviews, I can give a few updates: Pros: - new massage chairs that aren't the usual pedicure chairs but they are very comfortable - they use disposable water "buckets" which is great although there's no actual massage to the pedicure "machine" - convenient location with plenty of parking options - reasonable $35 for mani/pedi compared to other salons in the Coral Gables/South Miami area - staff is very pleasant and courteous - it's a family owned business - plenty of nail polishes to choose from Cons: - they talk really loud so it's hard for you to hold a conversation with anyone else you may have gone with - the place needs a little tlc since it's messy and the walls need some serious painting - definitely not the type of nail salon you would expect in this area so they definitely should get an upgrade - $7 for $1 old navy flops? Eh! - the actual mani/pedi were okay but don't expect a massage it hot towel like other places - they don't take out much cuticle - the lady that did my manicure didn't even dry my hands with a paper towel, she just put them on the table - I didn't see any place for them to disinfect their tools and they just placed them back in the same place There's a lot of potential here but it was just poorly executed. Got a perfect gel mani-regular pedi this morning (and I always find a problem with my manicures)! This is a great no-frills, get-the-job-done-right-at-an-affordable-price nail salon. They have a great selection of gel (and regular OPI/Essie) polishes. Massage pedi chair was an unexpected perk. Staff was very friendly and detail-oriented. Found street parking very easily, but would just park in Sunset Shops' lot if it becomes a problem. Starbucks is a block away- very convenient. I will definitely be returning. read more

I have been getting my mani-pedi's here for a few years & have always been 100% satisfied. I don't go as frequently as I used to however the staff always remembers my name & direct me to their new polish collections. I think it was $50 for gel mani and reg pedi. My nails were perfect when I walked out which made the price right. Although they did have a pedi massage chair, the salon itself is a no-frill environment that can come off as a little beat up. The staff is skilled and sweet. Not the place to go if you want to be pampered in luxury but definitely the place to go if you want your nails to look like a million bucks. Will definitely be back. read more

Thuy and Linda are excellent technicians. I have been to numerous nails salons in coral gables and south miami and this is the only salon that makes my nails grow. They maintain the health of my nails. I always do gel polish on my hands. I have been going to them for approximately 4 years. I went here based on the good reviews I read. I went in for a pedicure, and was astonished at how unclean it was. Against my better judgment, I stayed. When getting a pedicure, this place does not use an actual pedicure chair- rather, you sit in a chair, place your feet in a dirty tub, and then lean them against some wood. This is very tiring, as you need to hold you feet up the entire time. Horrible! read more

An adolescent boy in a bathing suit and flip flops brought a metal basket with a plastic lining filled with soapy water to my feet. I waited longer and got a really good look at the filth around me. here goes...i have gone to rainbow nails for 10 years before Sunset Place was even an awesome mall. they are consistent and amazing for a mani/pedi lasting about 3 weeks....the girls are fast, clean, and affordable. its a family business and ive seen how great they have all worked together for over 10 years. long story short, go get a mani-pedi there, only reason i dont use it as often is becasue i dont always work in kendall like i usto before i paid my dues as a big girl and now i come and please as i wish in that location haha...great cheap mani pedi read more

I noticed people are quicker to post a negative review rather than a positive one and I really feel that Rainbow nails has consistently been providing great service for some time now. How long? Well I dont want to age myself.lol. Lets start with the location. South Miami is a cute lil neighborhood with its fair share of nail salons but after trying most of them out I always come back to Rainbow nails because you KNOW you will get a good mani pedi there. As far as Michelle S. review goes.. WOW! Lady you have one review under your belt and you have managed to insult an entire neighborhood of "Chanel" wearing women and stereotyped those Vietnamese women to an Anjelah Johnson you tube?! I practially lol'd when I read that review because I go in there in sweat pants and t-shirt and never felt the least bit awkward... I walk in there with nubs and walk out with perfectly manicured hands. I mean they really are miracle workers there. If I could give Rainbow Nails 10 stars, I would. I should've reviewed them years ago because I've been coming here for over ten. They are by far THE BEST nail salon in the country. I live in LA now but have traveled the country for work for years. Not one salon has ever come even close to them. Since I grew up in Miami, I come home often to visit family. After giving hugs to the fam, I run to Tina, Twi or Hannah. These girls shape and polish like no other. They're fast, but precise and the place and tools are immaculate.
