I recently visited Rainbow Run for the first time and had a great experience. The course is very well maintained and beautiful! It's 18 holes. Probably at least half of the course was in the shade, perfect for a warm day. There's no reservations, it's first come first served. I got here around 3pm on a sunny Saturday and there were a couple groups in line in front of us. However by the time we left there was a massive line. I'd expect a little bit of a wait if you're coming on a weekend. Parking was super easy as they have a huge lot right by the building where you pay. The place was very lively and had a fun vibe. What a cool surprise finding a Putt Putt golf course right off Willows Road. I've driven by this place numerous times but it never occurred to me to check it out. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and we had a great time. For the two of us it was around $25.00 and it took us a good two hours to complete the 18 hole putt putt course. How could you not check out a place that says on it's website "journey with us if you dare...through this wilderness retreat of eagle, coyote, cougar and bear." I was intrigued to see if I could spot any signs of these animals. I won't go into details, but don't be surprised if you're caught off guard at one of the holes. I recommend taking the back roads to get to the golf course if you love to go on a fun drive. No reservations, even with the COVID19 situation. I went on a weekday and was able to play right away. The price was about $13 per person. If you play before 11am there is a small discount. I believe the max group size is 6 per party. Golf clubs of varying sizes and balls are available in the lobby to grab before you head out to the course. The course had a good amount of shade and some seating throughout. Some holes were missing signs to indicate which one you were at, but it wasn't a big deal since the walking paths lead you in order. I thought the course was in decent condition and had enough variety in it's layout. I wouldn't mind coming back again with some friends to have a friendly competition on the green. read more

The rainbow run putting course is pretty darn decent for being the only real outdoor mini golf course around The Woodville Kirkland area. There's a few other places but they're quite dinky compared to this. The only thing I will say is that the 11th hole definitely needs to have the green terf redone. That and I wish there was like a small table near each hole that you could put your drink on. On the plus side, this is an actual mini golf course that was planned out to be an actual fun challenge, with large hills, tricky obstacles and hidden secrets lying around. Just make sure you don't hit your ball too hard and bounce off the rocks! I do come here almost every week so it's quite a blast to go play, especially with friends or family! read more

This is a very pretty mini golf course, next to the Willows Run course, with plenty of shade on a hot day. Many water features and even a sand trap. Some of the negative views point to the course needing repairs and updates. It is true that it needs some work. A few of the greens have tears and many are pretty sloped. We chatted with one of the staff and he was excited that the new owners are planning on doing some improvements over the next year. In the meantime, you generally come to a mini golf course for fun, not for a serious putting game anyway. We will definitely be back. read more

A sweet golf course, not too sure why the mixed reviews. The holes are mostly very different and there are several that had pipes and rivers as a shortcut to get the ball to the hole. The kids were enthused and we were definitely not underwhelmed by the experience. Generally, the kids really enjoyed it. There were two sizes of putter (one for kids and one for adults), as well as scorecards and pencils available. We saw a huge flock of ducks descending upon the river, which was really cool and impressed us all. Both the kids and adults were engaged and we had plenty of fun! We come to Rainbow Run several times through the year on good weather days with our family. Parking is plentiful and free. The course itself can be a little long for the younger kids, but if they're at least 4-5, it's a good way to spend sometime mini-golfing without them getting bored. The course itself has a variety of difficulties from easy to hard, and the little streams and tall trees make for a lovely and quaint setting. We've never had to wait long for the next hole when a large group is ahead of us, and even if we did wait a bit, the beautiful trees and shade helps a lot. The course in some parts is a little run down, but is still pretty, and doesn't really affect play. read more

Really enjoyed playing this 18 hole mini-golf course. Most holes had a trick or hidden feature that helped you finish below par. Some of which almost guarantee a hole-in-one, giving you a chance to gloat to your friends that you are the Tiger Woods of mini-golf! The set up is simple, you pay first at the counter, they give you a club, and you choose your ball. If you want to play through the course again, feel free to. My father plays golf at a variety of courses, including the main courses at Willows Run. We've also been to a big family-and-friends gathering at the party facility a few years ago. I didn't know that there was a mini-golf course there. We get together regularly (with proper pandemic precautions) so he can see his grandson, and he thought that my boy might enjoy mini-golf, and that it would be a good, pandemic-safe activity. He set up a tee time on a warm sunny day in late August, and we made plans to meet. I was a bit late because I had no idea how huge the parking area was, and ended up near the exact opposite end of the lot to the mini-golf course. It was quite a walk. My father had already handled the check-in, so I don't know what the procedure was like. The course had child-size and adult-size putters, which my boy and I used; my father brought his own. We picked out balls from a big bucket of colorful balls and headed for the first hole. We were behind a party of five, so we had a bit of a wait. The holes were fun, with lots of sweeping up and down curves, as well as bends and obstructions. That's a change from the Putt-Putt courses I played as a kid; those were flat, except for ramps and such. After a few holes behind the party of five, my boy had figured out the idea of golf well enough that we found ourselves waiting for the larger group. My father asked for permission to play through, which the others cheerfully approved. (We skipped a hole, but we weren't keeping score so that's OK.) Although the course didn't have any moving parts, like the windmills and such of the old Putt-Putt courses, it had plenty of variety. One hole had a cave with lots of side alcoves that tended to swallow off-center shots -- and the occasional sound of a roaring bear. A couple of holes had pipes that provided a little shortcut or a big shortcut, depending on whether we chose the right pipe. There were streams through the course, a couple of sand hazards that were easily avoided, and a few gaps in the on-edge concrete pavers that bounded most holes. I lost one ball to such a gap after an unfortunate bounce, but my father brought a spare. The faux grass surface is a bit threadbare in places, but as of late August it doesn't have any rips, like it did when some previous reviews were written. The variation works as an added challenge. The weeds are still there along a few of the holes. The waters running through the course, the flowers, and so forth are there, and very scenic. Someone quipped that golf is a game where one ruins a perfectly good walk. But all three of us had fun, and enjoyed the scenery. Check-out was completely simple: drop the balls into the used ball barrels, and return any course putters. The club house looked pretty nice, and the bathrooms were clean. We came here as a family of 5 (4 adults & 1 child) & had a blast! This course is hands down the nicest mini golf course I've ever been to. Its so pretty & the courses are well maintained. 18 holes for $58 (5 ppl) was a great Sunday Funday deal. They serve alcohol for those who drink. It was about 5 minutes a hole/wait. My husband and I went to this golf course last Sunday for the first time. Apparently maintenance of the court fluctuates based on some of the other reviews written here. However, none of the 18 greens had any serious maintenance issues when we went, nor did any green have any maintenance issues that affected our ease of play. I feel like for an outdoor course there can be any number of maintenance issues that could arise pretty quickly that aren't serious enough for an immediate fix, such as small puddles or a few stray leaves that find their way into various areas. I have a huge yard and if I set a goal to deal with minor issues like that immediately every time they happened in my yard, I'd be checking my yard practically every five minutes. I personally don't think it's realistic to expect impeccable maintenance in this particular outdoor setting. I expected a safe, basically well-kept-up course and a smooth and unhampered playing experience, and that's what I got. It is a cute course and I do not have many complaints. We had a great time and it's an enjoyable brief experience for when you want to do something fun together but don't have all day to do it. The scenery built in to the course is very pretty, with an abundance of yellow and purple flowers, greenery, water, trees, and plants flanking most of the greens. I particularly enjoyed the two waterfalls, the bridge, and the cute names for each green based on several Washington landmarks, animals, or areas of interest ("Deception Pass," "Wolf Paws"). We did not lose any golf balls during play. We hadn't gone mini-golfing in many years, and we are not golfers overall, but we found almost every green to be extremely easy in terms of getting our golf ball near the hole and then into the hole - almost too easy, but it's all in fun so that didn't bother us too much. I noticed several comments regarding what other reviewers experienced as poor customer service from the staff. Personally I felt that the customer service was mediocre, but not horrible. The lady behind the counter definitely had a bit of a chip on her shoulder, but nothing that put too big of a damper on our experience. Also we only interacted with her two times, for about 5 minutes total, to pay and then to return our golf clubs. I feel like the quality of customer service is less of an issue given the very brief interactions than it would be at a restaurant, where you are interacting with your server throughout your entire meal. The exception to that would be unmistakable rudeness, but we didn't personally experience that. It was very lightly raining when we went, so we hoped it wouldn't be too crowded, and it wasn't. However, we definitely got a little nervous a couple of times and exited our green quickly as soon as we finished playing, since there were three groups shortly behind us and we didn't want those groups to have to wait. Overall, though, it was a very relaxed time, and we would go again. Recommended for a fun and relaxing experience, if you don't mind mediocre customer service or the occasional leaf that blew wherever the wind took it. read more

Easily the best mini golf course in the area. It's probably one of the biggest mini golf courses I've been to, and each hole is set up uniquely with tunnels, caves, rocks, sand, and ponds. My favorite was the bear cave hole, with the loud growling. The only complaint I had was this place is often closed without warning to last minute private parties, so be sure to call the day that you want to go to make sure it's open. read more

Past it's glory days. While they've done a good job cleaning it up, many things are no longer functional. It used to have many neat tricks like fans that would blow the ball around, or a stream you could hit your ball in and would wrap around to the hole, along with other things. Many of these no longer work which is sad because that's what set this apart from other courses. Rainbow Run is down the street from where I work. My team held a team-building event here a few months back that was fun. The rate to play is $9 per adult so it is not particularly cheap, but it is in line with a movie and you will spend about the same amount of time playing the course. This is a full 18 hole obstacle course. Having not played putt-putt golf ever, there was some things to learn about how to swing and putt. It is also a game of strategy. What I liked about this was this is a very cool place to socialize. I guess that goes with the saying about a golf course being a place for business. I did also learn that I am an insanely aggressive hitter and putter. Some of my shots went out of bounds and my putts went past the hole. There were also a few holes that seemed unplayable or out of service. All in all, I would recommend Rainbow Run as a place to have some outdoor fun and relax. read more

We go mini golfing a lot, but this is the prettiest mini golf course I have ever played on. It is integrated into the surrounding PNW nature with lots of water features. The price is quite cheap as well, for the PNW. The kids never get sick of it. read more

Very nice mini golf course in Redmond. No windmills or volcanos, just a nice 18 with trees and fountains and streams. It was about 80 degrees today and my teenage daughter was dying from the heat. It was really hard for me to write this review because I have been here in the past and loved it. I went with my girlfriend yesterday to enjoy the nice day with a round of putt-putt. Got into the entrance right at 6. All the resources I could find said the place closed at 7. There was a family ahead of us in line, and once they got their putters, we stepped to the counter. I told the cashier we would like two tickets and she told us that it was actually running a little late for the course since it was 6, that the park closed at 630, and that we wouldn't be able to finish if we were to start now, effectively turning us away. There was absolutely no mention of this to the family in front of us. None. Why is it that a heterosexual family was able to get through, and two young lesbians weren't is beyond me... Looks like I will be finding a more "inclusive" place to go in the future. read more

It really challenges you, regardless of if you're experienced or not. Great course since it was next to a real course. We arrived there close to closing time, so allow yourself plenty of time (about 2 hours) to complete the course at a leisurely manner for a party of 5. My company took us here for some RnR. 6 guys played real golf next door and 5 gals stayed here played mini golf. Regardless, we had a lot of fun! There were 18 holes for the entire mini golf course. We skip one because we were too slow and wanted to get ahead. We didn't want to delay the players behind us! I've gone to a handful of mini golf places in the area ...this is definitely the worse course I've been to. On the first hole there was a large puddle/wet area right next to the hole in the middle of summer...the turf looks like it was over a decade old and wasn't smoothe at all making it impossible to make a straight shot. This putting course is definitely worth 3.5 stars in my opinion. I've played here several times over the past few years and while they haven't made any improvements to the course, it's still a lot of fun and somewhat challenging. This course USED to be on the Passport Card and you could play a round for about $6. Without the card, it's $9 to play, which still isn't too bad for this course. Yes, be careful if you try to come here before 5 or 6PM as they often close the entire course for company events, which are a lot of fun if you're looking to do something with your work team or group. All in all, this is a great mini golf course if you're looking to try and relive the east coast experience of mini golf (windmills and waterfalls)! read more
