This is what actually…read morehappened.) ------ My massage was purchased on Groupon, good deal for a 60 minute massage and I was looking forward to it. I arrived 5 minutes late and the masseuse was not rushed because she had no other appointments that Saturday. (Clue 1). As I filled out the short form we talked and then headed to the cold chilly massage/office room. (Clue 2) She constantly talked (Clue 3) to relax herself I suppose. I think she was excited to finally meet me because we'd chatted over Facebook a year before about my medical business. I'm an expert at getting a monthly, sometimes bi-monthly massage as I've been getting massages since my 1st car accident at 15. So, as I'm getting undress and she's still talking without giving me privacy, I ask, "Is the table already heated"? She giggled, "No, would you like it heated"? "Yes", I reply. "It's really cold in here". So, she goes over to warm up the blanket and she's still talking about something. (Clue 4) I'm sitting down at the desk in the massage room which is next to a huge window. I notice that you can clearly hear all the cars going by and the shades are still open. I get up and close it. She comes and sits down and asks me, " Would you like aromatherapy"? I say, "sure". "What scent would you like"? NOW, mind you, she does not have the oils listed on a piece of paper, they are not sat out on a shelf. They are hidden away. So, I mention to her what other massage therapist do regarding aromatherapy appointments. I'm not sure if she's understanding but I'm sure she ready to discuss a new product She'd mentioned to me over the phone. I mention different fruit scents and flower scents and she tells me about each one. And she starts talking about a popular brand she just heard about. Mind you, now 15 minutes have passed and I'm still sitting and she's just casual chatting. (Clue 5) I stand up and say, "Do you have any music"? She gets up and goes to the boombox thats sitting next to the door and she turns it on. And she's blabbling about something. She won't shut up and let me relax. (Clue 6).I've got another appt after this. I know I'm gonna be late but I need this massage. She finally gets ready to leave the room, I mention again how chilly it is in the room and say, "Oh, it's gonna be nice to get on the warm table". She remarks, "Oh, I've been talking all this time and forgot to turn it on"! (Clue 7). This is my WTF moment. The clue I should have gotten up and left already and cancelledthe appointment!! She finally turns it on and she steps out the room. I close the door and turn up the music to drown out the sounds of the vehicles passing by. I take off my clothes and get under the chilly covers. She pops back in...no knock..nothing. (Clue 8). This "b" is a pain in my bottom and I'm using profanity in my head calling her all kinds of names. So unprofessional. Im here to get my 1st ever hot stone massage. Guess what? She tells me there is a law in affect where she can't give me the hot stone therapy as pictured on 1000s of pictures. Missouri outlawed that practice. So, she has about 4 stones...and she wished she'd had brought the rest from home. (Clue 9). OMG! I lay there on my stomache and she turns the music down mentioning that the 1st song is really low and the next song isn't similar. She was right the next song was a wakeup song that was loud. So she turned down the music more to a more comfortable sound. I told her I want the music to drown out the hum of the vehicles passing by. In her nervous way she fleeted around the room. She out some oil on a kleenex and sat it down near my nose. WTF kind of practice is that? (Clue 10). Tip: professional massage therapist's rub a little oil in their hands to warm up the oil and release the scents. Then tell you to take 3 deep breaths as they hold their hands near your nose...not to close.. while you're on your stomach, face on massage pillow. I rolled my eyes and turn my head. She asks what areas I want her to focus on. She flipped off the covers on my legs. Mind you its cold in this room. She goes and starts massaging my feet. I love my feet massaged...it helps me to fall asleep. But its cold. I tell her massage therapist generally un cover one leg at a time. Basically, the entire massage she decides to prove herself by mentioning every freaking muscle. *She's not comfortable massaging the entire thigh. *She uses a pillow instead of a bolster to rest the legs on. *She isn't familiar with how to massage elbows nor arms. *She loves to talk and forgets not to talk when asked not to talk. (Every masseuse has different techniques...she says). By mistake, I receive a 90 minute massage. I was running out of there. My masseuse was Vicki C.

I was pleasantly relieved when I felt about 75% normal after a 90 minute massage. And then, to feel 100% normal today is also great! She offered me tea upon arrival, and while we sipped on it, she took the time to listen to my current health concerns, and asked some questions about the type of massage I'd like to receive. I was comforted to know I was with someone who genuinely cared about my well being. I also appreciated that she knows an incredible amount about aromatherapy and was able to give me tips on an ongoing wellness plan to help me address my health concerns (without being pushy about it, which was nice.) I would recommend Vicki's services to anyone, especially if they are interested in the benefits of aromatherapy!

I recently purchased approximately $70 worth of skincare products, but unfortunately, I was unable to use the products because of a medical condition. I contacted Message Luxe hoping to return the products, but my request for a refund was denied by the manager. I was also disappointed that I was not given the option of returning the products for store credit or an exchange. What concerns me most is that I was not informed before purchasing that all sales were final, nor did I receive a receipt clearly explaining this policy. My credit card was already on file, and I had no reason to believe that I would have absolutely no return options if I was unable to use the products. I respect that businesses have policies, but I also believe those policies should be clearly communicated to customers before the transaction is completed. As someone who has patronized Message Luxe since 2017, I would have appreciated my longstanding customer relationship being taken into consideration. I was not asking for anything unreasonable. I simply wanted the opportunity to return products that I could not use and receive either a refund, store credit, or exchange. I tried to resolve this situation reasonably and directly with the business. Unfortunately, I left this experience feeling disappointed, dissatisfied, and undervalued as a longtime customer. My husband and I went there for the head spa treatment for our anniversary. I would like to recognize Cait and Gabe for their extraordinary services. Gabe gave me one of the best relax to the table massages. Cait gave my face a new glow with her amazing facial services. This is the walk around in complementary white robes type of spa. The spa has affordable bundles and à la carte options for whatever your needs may be. They do offer pregnancy services as well. They have a full nail salon as well and are accepting walk-ins. I do recommend having a reservation, but at least give them a call ahead of time. Accessibility note: the only thing not accessible is the head spa area as it is down a flight of stairs. All other spa areas can be made accessible. For my service dog handlers, I would recommend calling in advance and making specific requests instead of walking in.
