When I checked in, I clearly explained that I was there for a CT scan. The younger staff member at the front desk was polite and checked me in without issue. After waiting, I was seen by Dr. Jessica Martin. She checked my dog's vitals and examined the mass, then confirmed that he would need a CT scan--which is exactly what my primary vet had already told me, and the reason I came in. However, she then informed me that their CT machine cannot accommodate a dog of my size and recommended I go elsewhere. This was extremely frustrating, as it could have been addressed before I was checked in, given that I clearly stated my reason for visiting. The situation became worse at checkout. I was told I needed to pay for the visit, which I questioned since I came in for a CT scan that could not be performed. The younger front desk staff member understood my concern, but another employee, Gretchen, intervened. During the discussion, Gretchen told me that I had not said I needed a CT scan when I checked in, and even stated that if I had said that, it would be a different situation regarding the bill. At that point, the staff member who originally checked me in overheard and confirmed that I did clearly say I needed a CT scan. Despite this, Gretchen immediately reversed course and stated that it didn't matter, that a consultation was done, and that payment was still required. This contradiction was frustrating and made the interaction feel dismissive and unfair. While a brief exam was performed, it ultimately resulted in the same conclusion I already had, without providing the service I came in for. Better communication upfront could have avoided this entire situation. I also want to specifically note the conduct of Gretchen at the front desk. Her tone was dismissive and argumentative, and her inconsistent statements during the interaction only added to the frustration. This reflects poorly on the professionalism and customer care at this facility. I would not recommend this location based on my experience.

This amazing Animal Hospital is in Western Palm Beach in the city of Greenacres. From the moment you arrive the waiting room is quite large and the staff is so very nice and welcoming. There were people in the waiting room with all kind of animals from Birds to Reptiles and me with my guinea pigs. Once couple drove in from South Miami!! That has got to be a 3 or 4 hour ride. I was stunned. The examining room was roomy, nice and clean. The doctor and assistant could not have been any nicer. The asked me detailed questions , thoroughly examine my fur babies and determined what the possible ailment was with recommendations for treatment. I received their medicine and they showed me how to use and apply. All the instructions and medicine was put in a paper bag with my pets name on them. I was told to call anytime with any concerns and that the main phone number also doubles for text messaging. How cool is that! The staff at the front desk told me the doctor loves to receive text picture updates too. Within a day my fur babies were feeling better and I sent a picture via text of them to the doctor and received a reply back thanking me for the picture and happy to hear they are feeling better. One of the main reasons…read moreI chose this hospital was because their website describes Dr. Maria Lowry as practicing both conventional and traditional/holistic treatments. I was desperately looking for a more holistic and integrative approach to help Leo, who had been struggling with severe allergies and constant paw licking. During Leo's first evaluation, Dr. Lowry told me, "Leo is a mess, and I wish I could give you a magic holistic pill to help him, but this is not the case." At the time, I was desperate to help Leo and trusted that her recommendations might be the right path. After extensive and expensive testing, including bloodwork and allergy testing, Leo was placed on prednisone, Sporimune (cyclosporine), and a strict Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein diet. Unfortunately, Leo did not do well with this treatment plan. He gained considerable weight on the new diet, and while taking the medications, he became extremely lethargic and weak. He had very little desire to walk or participate in his normal activities. Most concerning to me was that despite all of this, he continued licking his paws desperately. Seeing such an active little dog become so unlike himself was heartbreaking and alarming. I eventually felt I needed to seek another opinion urgently and consulted holistic veterinarian Dr. Michael Dym. His approach was very different. He changed Leo to a completely raw diet and focused on addressing his allergies from both the inside and outside, including supporting and rehabilitating his digestive system. Under this different approach, I saw a noticeable improvement in Leo's overall condition. Another disappointing part of my experience with Chasewood occurred when I asked whether I could return unopened medications and expensive unopened bags of prescription food that Leo would no longer be using. I was told they could not accept them as returns. When I then asked whether they would accept those same unopened items as a donation, I was told they would gladly take them. I also found my interactions with the front desk unpleasant. On several occasions, it took considerable effort and repeated follow-ups to receive Leo's evaluation and medical information by email. I spent a significant amount of money on consultations, testing, medications, and prescription food, but unfortunately, our experience and the results were not what I had hoped for. I am very grateful that I sought another opinion when I did and that Leo subsequently improved. I am not writing this review out of anger or retaliation. I am sharing our experience because I sincerely believe other pet parents deserve to hear different experiences when making decisions about their animals' care. Every animal is different, and another family may have a completely different experience. I can only speak honestly about what happened with Leo. If you are specifically seeking holistic or integrative veterinary care, I encourage you to ask detailed questions about what "holistic" means in the treatment approach being recommended and to consider seeking a second opinion if your pet is not responding well. Our pets cannot speak for themselves. As their caregivers, we have to pay close attention to what their bodies and behavior are telling us and advocate for them when something does not feel right.

They also took our dog to the back and said she was resting while they watched her, yet when they brought her back to me two hours later, she reeked of pee. She does not ever pee in the house unless she is outside. Would I ever go here ever again, never ever would. There are other quality emergency vets that will take you as a priority, treat you with compassion, and not keep you there forever while the clock ticks and the money goes up.
