Warning: This review is completely biased. I am a vegan, so this review won't be helpful to anyone who isn't a vegan. My friend loves this place, so I wanted to get lunch with her and check it out. I've been a vegetarian most of my life and a vegan for quite some time, so I'm used to picking through menus and finding something I can have. This menu was surprisingly challenging for me. The only items that were vegan as is were the fries (including garlic and sweet potato). I figured I'd be safe with customizing a salad. The only one that could be veganized was the Southwest Salad, but I had to get it without chicken, cheese, and dressing. That left lettuce, tomatoes, onions, black olives (which I don't like), and black beans, with no dressing. I asked for a lemon so I could squeeze it over my salad. There was no compensation for removing all those items. So I paid $20 for that salad. We sat at the end of the bar by the front window. Our server was busy and it was hard to get her attention, so we spent most of our meal unattended, which meant no refills on our drinks even though we were at the bar. This may be a great place for people who can have most of the menu as is and who come at a not-so-busy time; it just wasn't a win for me. read more

Stopped in over the weekend after hiking in Rainier. We wanted a place where we could sit down and order food/beer. It was pretty busy, but we had no trouble grabbing two seats at the bar. The interior is fairly standard bar decor and they had several TVs on. Our bartender was quick to get us drinks and menus and even offered a sample of one of the beers I was interested in. This was especially appreciated because she was definitely very busy. We both ordered burgers and while they weren't medium as requested (more medium-well/well done) the flavor was good. I'm much less worried about the burger being a bit over when the flavor and juiciness are still there. Bonus points for offering tater tots as a side option. Once my friends and I arrived, it was a "seat yourself" type of place so we picked the first open table. It took about 5-8 minutes before being given menus. The server was pretty attentive and gave us enough time to look over the menu. The chicken caesar wrap is pretty underwhelming and the onion rings had barely any flavor. The clam chowder and chili was great though, made me regret not buying a big bowl of soup. Once the server came back around to ask if we need boxes, we only requested one but she persisted on giving us two, which I thought was a bit odd. Overall, the food that night was mediocre. Tonight I visited Rainier bar and Grill with my wife, the service was amazing Conner did a great job getting our drinks ordered and served quickly. Although it took about 30 minutes after ordering for us to get our food. The wait was well worth it, everything tasted great and was hot and fresh. One thing that was less than desirable was having to pay extra to get onion rings as a side(which is no issue) and only receiving two rings, which is a bummer because they were delicious. My burger was cooked exactly how I asked (some pink) and the fries were good. The drinks were definitely served with a heavy poor and very fast for any refills. The atmosphere is great, it's an old school PNW rustic bar that is inviting for the whole family. The show stopper was hands down the caramel brownie on the skillet, it was served with ice cream and piping hot caramel and was well worth the visit we absolutely recommend. read more

Was my first visit to Rainier Bar & Grill and definitely won't be my last. Stopped by for dinner and drinks before seeing a show at The Chalet Theater a few blocks away. Ponied up to the bar for the all the tables were occupied. Both bar tenders were happy, attentive and made our stay very enjoyable. I am a bit of a picky eater and they were more than accommodating to ensure I was satisfied with what I ordered. The fricken onion rings were absolutely over the top and some of the best onion rings I have ever experienced. I can't wait to go back and order a full side of them. Their prices were very fair and you won't leave feeling like you did not get your money's worth. The menu was vast and provided a variety of options regardless of your current appetite. I have had the steak salad multiple times, and I used to enjoy it. Lately, the salad is made with a bunch of white Romain hearts for lettuce. I commented on this 2 visits ago since I really want my salad to look green and not white - for both taste and nutrition. The server said the salad is supposed to be a 50/50 mix of Romaine Lettuce and a spring mix. She suggested that I specifically ask for more spring mix next time. Last night, I specifically asked the server to make sure I got more Spring mix than Romaine. When my food finally came (about a half hour later), the salad was almost all white with Romaine hearts (basically garbage). Sorry, "I told the cook" was all I got from the server, and then my server disappeared for another 40 minutes. A completely different server finally noticed me looking around and offered to bring me my check. Once she brought me the check, the server finally showed up to thank me for coming in ... which seemed awkward after ignoring me for most of my visit. The last minute visit made me feel like the server wanted a good tip even though I couldn't even get a refill of my water. Anyways, I am done with the steak salad. I'll start by saying the food was very good! We go to the Rainier multiple times a year. This time we sat at the bar. The bartender was not quick to greet or ask us for our drink order. When she did finally ask, the G&T ordered had flat tonic. We let her know, she made another saying she used tonic from a bottle. Same thing, it was flat. What bartender makes a G&T and can't tell the tonic is flat?? She then proceeded to ignore us the rest of the time all the while spending 15min chatting with her friends. We had to ask another server for assistance after having asked and been ignored multiple times. We asked for a manager and was told the bartender is the manager. Next time we walk in and see that bartender, we'll walk right back out. There are a lot more restaurants out there who know how to treat their clients. read more

We've enjoyed our time here in previous visits but the lack of reservation system and inaccurate wait times makes getting in the door too much of a headache for the quality of food. Its an easy thing to give customers the convinience of not loitering around outside for an hour to get a table. At least get better at estimating wait times and text folks so they can walk around and enjoy Enumclaw instead of being tethered outside for an indeterminate amount of time. read more

This place is a wonderful gem! My husband and I have been here a handful of times and each time we have a great time! The food is very yummy (BBQ onion ring burger, fish and chips, Rainier, BLT.. are some of the items we have tried). Our favorite is the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream served in a hot skillet. We drive an hour just to get the brownie for special occasions LOL. Service is always fast and servers are friendly. This place gets busy in the evenings and weekends, but nice and slow earlier in the day and weekdays (like everywhere else). I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with tater tots and a cup of chowder. The knife was so dull I couldn't cut the burger in half. This is a massive amount of food. I was looking forward to the tater tots but they were so over done that that they were inedible. I don't know who needs to eat this massive of a burger! For what this costs it should be supreme. We've driven through/past Enumclaw many times, but this is the first time we were actually in the "downtown" area. There are so many restaurants/pubs and wine bars it was hard to choose which one to have lunch at. We chose this one at random...and it was an "almost" great choice. We were here around 12:30 on a Tuesday, the place was busy but not packed. We sat down and a young person gave us menus and took our drink orders, returned with them right away and then we waited......it appeared that there were two servers and one bus person (the one that took our drink orders) both of the servers walked past us several times until we stopped one and asked if we could order. She immediately apologized and said she and the other server split/swap tables and thought the other server was taking care of us. I appreciate this system as it allows each server a fair share of tables, but you need to have a very clear communication system to be certain things like this don't happen. These days my Hubby and I often split meals, which is what we told the server, and we got the French dip with sweet potato fries and also a side of garlic fries. The server asked us if we wanted any sauces with our order, we got the tarter and the garlic/pepper mayo, both house made and so good! The garlic/pepper mayo had just the right amount of pepper. The garlic fries came out first and they were amazing!!! Hot, fresh and they top them with an herb garlic which has so much more flavor than just garlic. We got the sandwich with Swiss cheese and sautéed onions. They put the sandwich on two plates which is always appreciated. The sandwich was just okay; the bun was supposed to be toasted but just felt/seemed stale. The cheese wasn't melted and the onions were stacked in the center. The meat had a decent flavor, nothing spectacular, but there was plenty of it. The au jus was okay, again nothing special. Despite the initial server mix up, ours was attentive and friendly. We liked the look and feel of this place, their drink menu looked interesting and reasonably priced. We both agreed that we should come back one evening and check it out. read more

Looked for a burger and brew stop for lunch last Monday after snow camping up over Tacoma Pass. Found this little gem and really enjoyed it. Pain in the butt to find parking at times but a few drives around the block we nabbed a couple spots up front. From the moment we walked in the service was stellar. Vee seated us and got drinks rolling, Rita served us after that. All the food was great. The turkey dip, my bacon bleu burger, my other buddies western/bbq something burger excellent potions, good cook and seasoning. The side salad was excellent. Blue cheese with crumbles as well. Fries and tots were great. Beer selection decent. It's a little dark in there and the menus are hard to read for us 50+ year old dudes, but minor issue. The best part on this was the amazing service we received from both ladies. We especially love how friendly, witty and attentive Rita was. Just perfect service all around. I enjoyed watching all the servers and bar tenders working together and having fun with the customers. I will be back here every time I'm coming through Enumclaw. Three thumbs, way up! read more

This is one of the first things I look for in a good server. She was also super personable and despite having to server 10 people at two tables acted like it was just a small group of 4 she was serving. Service 10/10 To the food... We had a lot of things food wise. Bacon cheeseburgers with garlic fries. (If you haven't had their garlic fries. Please do. It's a bit extra bit so worth the extra cost) 9/10 Prawns and chips. I want to say these were delicious. But unfortunately they were just ok. They should smell like coconut since they're coconut prawns but they had a bit of used frying oil smell instead which I struggled to get past and only ate a few of them. Again the fries were delicous (and didn't have the smell) 5/10 Fish and chips. I was told they were delicous and would order again. 9/10 pulled pork sandwich. Friend said it was good.
