The peanut sauce for the vermicelli bowl
    Susan S.

Solid 3.5 overall. We like this place but I probably ordered the wrong thing on the menu - the vermicelli bowl with peanut sauce and the nuac Cham sauce. While the salmon BLT and grilled turkey sandwiches were fine, the bowl was not. The nuac Cham sauce had no fish sauce or taste and the peanut sauce did not taste like peanut sauce and was super thick. It was a bit weird with pickles at the bottom. Normally, the dish has jalapeño and the cucumbers are cut in strips v. Slices. The noodles seemed overcooked. The Portions are decent. We give the sandwiches 4 stars but the bowl is a 3 for taste. Everything else is good- service, average noise. Street parking but fairly easy to find a spot close by.

As I was timing so low, I opted to sit at the bar. I was quickly greeted by Dennis who graciously allowed me to sample the three ciders on tap. When I asked him to pick three of his favorite items on the menu, he mentioned the steak salad, which initially did not catch my eye on the menu. However, that's what I ordered, and it was delicious. A bit heavy on the balsamic dressing, the next time I would ask for this to be on the side. If/when I'm in the area again, I would definitely dine here again.

The bacon jam burger, also should be famous.

This is my first time at this restaurant and it was a delight. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations and she did not steer us wrong. The poutine is what we started with, the fries were piping hot, the gravy was rich and delicious, and did I mention there was bacon jam in there? Since we had the poutine as an appetizer, we opted to get salads instead of the side fries for our burgers and sandwiches. I have to admit this is one of the most impressive side salads I've ever had. The greens were so fresh! On special they had their homemade clam chowder which checked all the boxes, it had a great balance of meat to potato to herb. I will be dreaming about this for the rest of my life. If you see it on special you need to get it. My group ordered the mushroom burger, the the bacon jamburger, and the French dip which we split three ways. And when I tell you we fought over keeping our own. I am not lying. The burgers were juicy, the toppings were generous and well balanced. The French dip had roast beef that just melted in your mouth. For the first time. I don't think I needed the au jus. One of my party ordered the truffle gnocchi with wild mushrooms. I don't know how, but it was somehow light, not too rich, and the gnocchi soft pillows had the perfect fluffy texture. We did have to take most of our food home because the portions were generous. And somehow the gnocchi reheated. Well. I'm going to call that a miracle. All in all, if you're anywhere near Enumclaw you need to go here. We made the trip from Puyallup because my dad could not stop raving about the poutine. Next time I'm in town. I will be back!

Finally got around to visiting. When you try to go on the weekend, there's a line. We went on a Tuesday evening and there was zero wait. Love the atmosphere and service was great. The gnocchi was sooooo good!

The hamburger here was super good. I got the bacon jam burger no lettuce no tomato. Great size on the burger, I got mine cooked medium and it was cooked perfectly.

Out front, Wednesday 2 August 2023.

While The Mint Restaurant & Alehouse was founded in 1906 and re-opened in 2013, my first visit was today, Wednesday 2 August 2023, so I am a bit of a late comer as a 1990s-born Washingtonian. The street parking around the restaurant was 2 to 3 hour parking and I did not have trouble finding an open spot a couple streets away. A hostess greeted me at my entry and I was served by a friendly waitress. I got a table towards the front of the restaurant to myself, I was a solo diner. After first taking a seat with my back to the window, I repositioned myself choosing a stool facing the entrance of the restaurant. I enjoyed this view as I could see out the front window and watch what was going on in the town of Enumclaw from my field of view. Quiet music played in the background and did not overpower my audial experience. For my food and drink, I got water and the Mint's cheeseburger with fries. The cheeseburger came with a white cheddar cheese I enjoyed. None of the toppings, nor the patty nor the bun were too thick. The burger sauce (a smoky mayo) was subtle, but tastable. The fries were crisp with a warm and fluffy interior. I finished it all in one go and found I was not overly full.

This is a great spot to stop by for a bite after a long day hiking in Mt Rainier. The staff are friendly and helpful to accommodate meals for vegetarian or vegan dietary restrictions. The interior is ~cool~ and rustic vibes. The only con is that it is a bit smoky in the restaurant, which can be difficult for people with asthma or sensitivity. It can a little bit hard of hearing or muffled sounds if you are seated in the very front. But nonetheless it is a great spot to visit and get together a group of 6+ people! Con: smoky in the restaurant, a little bit hard of hearing/muffled sounds

The burger is thick and really juicy, great bun and aioli. The fries are perfectly crispy. The pizza had a really great, I'm assuming wood-fired, crust. The duck was tender and sweet and there was a lot of arugula. It's a sparser craft pizza, which is just so delicious when you are looking for something a little heavy but not over the top. While they boast about their craft beer offerings, they have a great cocktail list as well, and I love that they have a specific whiskey cocktail section as well, with a few that are less common at some bars. The Brooklyn is probably my favorite, but you can't really go wrong. Also, a fellow patron asked for a Toronto and the bartender was happy to look it up and make it for him. And what about the atmosphere here?! It's so wonderful in summer! With its narrow design giving a sense that an entire wall opens to the outside and the patio that extends beyond, it feels Ike you are vacationing somewhere tropical and beachy. This somehow combines really well with the industrial vibe of the interior. They also have some TV's for sports. The service is very friendly, attentive, interactive, and helpful. One thing that was consistent across my three visits, however, was the feeling that the place is always understaffed, so things tend to move slowly. I'm not sure this is the case, it's just the feel you get when it happens the times you visit. This is a bit of a double-edged sword though, since it's such an easy place to just want to sip and nibble slowly while delving into conversation. So, that's not enough to detract a star for now, and honestly I'm already thinking about when I get to eat here again!

The beer selection and cocktail choice is awesome. Loved the stock manhattan cocktail. My wife enjoyed the Snap Dragon cocktail, nice use of tequila on this drink. My boyfriend and I were looking for a spot to grab a beer after hiking Twin Falls nearby, and came across Mt. Si Pub. It looked exactly like the type of spot that we'd love, and we diiiid! From the outside, this place is very unassuming. Small-ish parking lot. Great views of Mt. Si, obviously. Inside, it's almost like stepping into the log cabin version of a dive bar. Giant rock fireplace, taxidermy on the walls, with dollar bills pinned everywhere. Amazing. If you're looking for a food menu with a ton of options, do not go here. That said, if you like no-frills, reminds-me-of-childhood meals, THIS is the spot. We went with the deli sandwich and the mac n cheese with kielbasa, both of which hit the spot after hiking in the gray, drizzly weather. I noticed they do also have daily food specials - the day we were in, it was cheese and pepperoni pizza. They have fantastic beer options and lots of liquor choices, too. We went with our usual - a Bodhizafa and a shot of tequila with a pickleback (try it, and thank me later). Service was also really great. We arrived right at open, and right after us, the next literally 10 people were all regulars. The bartender knew them all by name and you could tell this is definitely the local hangout. Anytime I'm hiking up in the area, I'll be stopping by Mt. Si Pub after. Highly recommend!

They have all the Pappy van Winkles as well as most of the Buffalo Trace Antique collection. They only do 2 oz pours (no half pours) but the prices are still more affordable than any other place you'd find on the West Coast. Some downsides is that they don't have glencairn glasses and the place has your typical tavern smells, so you won't get the full isolated whiskey tasting experience. This place is after all a tavern, so most of the focus is on beers and a communal experience. If you're looking to try something rare without wanting to buy the whole bottle though, I think coming here for whiskey is still pretty good.
