They cleaned up all the debris. Sales person came out for review to make an assessment on what would be involved. In the conversation they offered to clean the roof, I told them there's a lot of moss up there and they said they could easily do that. Oh they cleaned something, just not the whole roof. They got the entire north side of my house covered in caked on globs of dirt. This included everything around there like my A/C exterior fan unit, my trash bins, my shed, my storage lockers and my deck boxes. They left a hose, my hose, on the roof and running all night long until my wife spotted it the next morning. My front hose was also used, I know this because instant of rolling it back up using the roll they just left it all piled up at the corner of my house. Now told them about this, and the person who responds just always says they'll get in touch with their "experts" and let me know. Eventually they came back to finish cleaning the roof and clean up the mess on the side of the house. They came and went then I got home and checked, looked like they took about two seconds to clean some of the side but ran off to their next project. It was in no way clean or even in the condition it was in prior to their work. As for the roof being cleaned and moss control applied, I can't get all the way up on the 2nd floor roof to know but my HVAC company came out to do some other work related to "Smokey cedar smell in air ducts, & they climbed up to the 2x!: floor and took photos. There was no moss control applied on the 2nd floor roof and miss was growing everywhere on the west back side, yes this was the very next day after M&H came. Cleaning and moss control were services we agreed M&H would do.m, but they clearly didn't yet still charged me for it. Oh and that donkey cedar smell? Sawdust in the HVAC exhaust line from roof & vent repairs. So basically the roofing company offered a series of services they never fully executed. I had to hire a different company to complete the gutter work and re-clean the lower & upper roofs and apply moss control up on the 2nd roof. Then I had to clean out my HVAC vents, and I had to wash and scrub the exterior of my house. How are they still in business is beyond me.

We were able to schedule our roof replacement when we wanted to get it done and the job was completed in just two days. We were impressed that it was such a quick and smooth process. After our roof was done, our gutters just took one day to replace.. so in total, it only took 3 days to get a brand new roof and gutters! Also, throughout the entire process, Elijah (the project manager?) kept us updated on how things were going and was also easily reachable for any questions we had. We appreciated the good communication! My only minor "complaint" would be that the cleanup after the job being done wasn't 100%. There were a few scraps and caution tape leftover from the roof job, and then a large ladder was left from the gutter job. The crew showed up exactly on time on the arranged day and worked steadily all day to strip the roof and make repairs. They arrived exactly on time on the next day and worked steadily all day to install the new roof. They installed Malarkey Vista AR composition shingles that match the roof on our garage that they did a great job on several years ago. The roof on our house is not simple. There are several dormers, two main ridges, shed roofs on long bump outs on the side and returns on gable ends. The removed a metal chimney we no longer use and cut in ridge vents. The house is stucco and they neatly and properly flashed and counter flashed everything. In addition, the porch has a hip roof with a 4' x 5' flat section on which they put a PVC roof to replace roll roofing. They meticulously protect the house and plants and clean up everyday. I highly recommend them.

I talked to about 5 installers during this time and didn't feel comfortable with any of the bids I had received and had decided I was going to subcontract out the work with my own design. As I was getting ready to design my system I saw that united solar was a newish company that was certified to install sol ark. I contacted united solar and they really knew the ins and outs of all the technical aspects of solar. They were very friendly and spent a lot of time ensuring that I understood how the system would function so that I would not be disappointed - including but not limited to discussing how it would work in a backup with my heat pump, water heater, and any future expansions. I settled on a sol ark 15k, a 6kW DC solar array (will later expand to 19kW through their diy assistance) and a 24kWh battery. The install got off to a rough scheduling start due to a few surprise weather incidents but the work quality is top-notch and Aslan was very helpful at keeping us updated with respect to the delays and who was going to be showing up and when. We ended up doing a change order midway through and he made it very simple. Everything passed inspection the first time and it has been operating for a month flawlessly. They have done a great job remaining in contact with me during the process and always are happy to answer my technical questions even if it requires some research. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and would love to work with them again.

We ended up going to another solar company out of Olympia to get these issues addressed. We knew once the other company touched the system it would null and void any service agreement with Universal Electric PNW. Long story short, the new company is currently on the roof reinstalling the L brackets and rails as they were not installed to manufacturer requirements (tile roof, tiles not ground flat) and rewiring the whole system at an out-of-pocket cost to us. If I could give this business a negative rating, they would receive it.
