This place has definitely hit rock bottom over the years. I've been going here for about 4 years and it's gotten worse every single time. But unfortunately it's the only Popeyes outside of fort Riley's for miles. The customer service is a hit or miss most times. They seem to constantly be getting different employees so the service is inconsistent. On google it said they opened at 1030, and the sign on the door even said 1030. And I usually don't eat this type of food this early but my wife wanted it and I was heading back to junction city and the fort Riley Popeyes was not open today. So I had no choice but to try to grab some here before I head back to JC and I arrived at around 1040. I waited in the drive thru and got no answer, so I went inside. I stood in the line for about a minute before I was told they open at 11. Which was frustrating. At this point I was dedicated to getting Popeyes because my wife convinced me to do so, and I really wanted to try the new strawberry biscuit. So I ran some errands until it opened. I even gave them extra time between opening and returning because when I first went inside it seemed they were already behind schedule. When I came back the gentleman in front of me waiting at the Speaker in the drive thru for an answer for about 4 minutes until he got a response. It took us both about 10 minutes to order and get our food. It's still not the worst Popeyes I've been too but they for sure need to reinforce their weak points. I've never had a bad experience besides small inconveniences such as waiting a while, and occasionally they'll forget a food item but nothing deal breaking. The quality of food has never been bad for me fortunately. If you go to this Popeyes just be prepared to wait a while and double check your order before leaving. read more

We sat at Popeyes waiting so long for our food that, at one point, I decided I didn't even care what it tasted like anymore--I was giving them one star regardless. I thought Popeyes was fast food. Now, I realize I've experienced longer-than-average waits at pretty much every Popeyes I've ever visited, but this was something else. After 16 minutes, the two orders placed before ours were still at the counter asking where their food was, and ours was nowhere in sight. At one point, someone came to our table and offered us free pie because of the wait--which was a nice gesture--but we still didn't have any food. Finally, after 34 minutes, our food was ready. Now for the honest food review: The wings were fabulous. The strips were very stringy. The red beans and rice were good, the coleslaw was average, and the biscuit was very dry and tough. The young woman at the counter was incredibly sweet, and I appreciated her kindness. However, overall, I'm still giving this location one star. No matter how good the food might be, I will never come back. A 34-minute wait for fast food is simply unacceptable to me. read more

I'm so thankful that the previous service team they had before are gone, this new employees are actually trying to provide a better service and quality food but I feel bad for them because they've had their AC broken over the past 2 weeks and they only have drive thru available, we've been trying to dine in but because of the heat we're not able to, if the lobby is hot and they can't have costumers eat in I can't imagine how hot it is in their kitchen but I feel like something should be done ASAP at least they're still trying to give people a good service. read more

Walk in- 12:00pm. Needs management, if you're in customer service I believe it's imperative to at least know some English, everyone was on the their phones including what looked like the ring leader of the shift, told me they didn't have Cajun rice, after I paid for it, even though it's on the menu and on the app, tables dirty, food in the sauce bin, chicken looked like it was dead yesterday under the warmer lamps, I always have high hopes for Popeyes because it can be good! This hasn't been our first time since they have new management, today we decided to dine-in and food was excellent service as well but the lobby was burning hot my family and I felt like we couldn't breath and if the lobby was burning hot and I cant imagine how the kitchen was and how hot the employees were, definitely something need to be done for corporate because I wouldn't be working under so hot temperatures you guys now have good employees doing the job that needs to get done for the community but they deserve more than just working under so hot temperatures. read more

It's hard to give this place a 3 star review because it should be 1-2. It seems like there's only 1 person doing actual work whenever I go which is sad. Every order I've gotten from here is never fully correct and is always super late. But I do love the food and the personalities of the people that work there are great and funny. I try very hard to be understanding with restaurants. I really understand the struggles they go through! I know staffing is difficult, I know it's hard and tiring work, I know that running a restaurant can be difficult. But this particular Popeye's is absolutely so far past the bottom of the barrel that the barrel doesn't even enter the equation anymore. We went in on New Year's Eve and ordered with a coupon we had. Staff was bickering, complaining as we ordered that they'd have to cook things, just generally not being very conducive to a good experience. Cashier said they were "just joking" and was friendly enough. Food was... bad. Chicken was soggy and not very hot, fries were outright limp and cold, biscuits were clearly pretty old. Mashed potatoes were fine. Okay- it's a holiday, I'll give them that, maybe it was a down day. I mentioned the cold food to an online support person and they gave me some rewards points for a second chance, which, sure, I'll give it to them. Fast forward to the second chance. I place an order at 10:45 AM for dine-in at 11:30, get a notification it will be ready for pickup at 11:28. Cool! I get there at 11:31, figuring a few extra minutes would give them time to get it ready. I arrive... and doors are locked. Both of them. Store is completely inaccessible. I call to make sure that they aren't closed, or something, and the employee tells me that they "won't unlock the doors" (not "can't", which would imply a problem- "won't", which implies choice on someone's part) and that I should go through the drive-thru. I tell her I don't have a car- "that's okay, just go through on foot". Okay. Obvious safety concerns aside, I've already ordered the food, I want to see if the quality will be better, so I get in the drive-thru line behind the three cars there and wait. And wait. Aaaand wait. Thirty-five minutes later, I finally get to the pickup window. To their credit, my food is already there when I arrive, so I figure they saw me coming and made it. Nope! They made it when I first called in, knowing they were going slow and there were people in the drive-thru in front of me. So to recap: I go to pick up an order for dine-in, but the restaurant is closed. I am told to stand in the drive-thru, which I do, for thirty-five minutes. I get my food, and even after all that wait, the fries and sandwich are both cold, AGAIN. Never again, Popeye's. They refunded me the points and gave me a coupon, but this place doesn't get a third chance. If I find another location while traveling, maybe they'll go to use, but this particular location? What a horrible experience I had in the restaurant today with both an employee and a manager. I'm a door dasher, so I was in to pick up an order to be delivered. It was around 2:30 in the afternoon, so not busy at all and no one in line to order. It took AT LEAST three minutes for anyone to even acknowledge me standing there. Then, the employee behind the counter says, "I'll be with you in a minute." Okay, no problem, I think. Not impressive to wait so long to be acknowledged, but I could live with that. The manager also walked by several times, never speaking a word to me. Finally, she turns around and says, "What's the name on your order?" I tell her and that's that. She walks over toward the drive-thru window. A minute or two later, the employee turns around and puts a bag of food on the counter and says, "here you go." I check my phone order on DoorDash and tell the guy that there is supposed to be a drink with the order. He looks at me and then the receipt sort of puzzled. I look at my phone again and said, "It's supposed to have a sweet tea with it." Honest to gawd, he sticks his hand IN MY FACE (I'm not joking) and yells, "Calm down!" I reacted in shock and said to him, "Did you just yell at me to calm down?" At this point, the manager steps out from the beyond and says to me, "Ma'am, I've got this, thank you." This guy continues to run his mouth to me while he's preparing the drink for my order. The manager stood there and said nothing, watching and listening to it all. He tosses-ish the drink on the counter at me and tells me to "Have a nice fucking day!" to which I replied "Wow. You have a nice effing day too!" (I purposely did NOT use the same word he did). The manager says to me, "Ma'am, I think he said 'Have a nice afternoon.'" Really?!? I'm not stupid. Anyway, I shared my thoughts about how disrespectful he and she were through this whole thing and that their customer service is lacking. Crickets. Since then, I've tried to call the restaurant to speak to her directly and to apologize that I yelled back (which is not my style). I guess it doesn't come as a surprise, but no one will answer the phone. It's not like they know it's me calling either, they just don't answer. In three of my attempts at calling, I could tell they answered and immediately hung up. Now, I can't even believe that I was going to apologize for reacting to him inside the restaurant. Forget it. Now all you get is a bad review. I dread the day that DoorDash takes me back there. Shame on the management. read more

This is the worst service I have ever had. I have gone to this location 4 times and each time I waited 10 plus minutes at the drive thru to order. No one answers when I say hello multiple times, I go and park to order food and the doors are always locked, even though I see workers walking around inside and I am there 2 -3 hours before closing time. I finally stopped an employee walking out of the restaurant to take out trash and I ask if they're still open, she responded with let me check, comes back out a few mins later and says yes. How do you not know if you're open or closed! I drive up to the window and there is a rude worker that has the nerve to say, "I assumed that since you did not get a response you would just drive up to the window, our speaker box is broken!" I wanted to be rude back and say you need to put a sign that says broken please drive up to the window. Then when I got my food, it was all cold! read more

On the 28 Dec 2023 I tried to purchase Popeyes chicken. upon attempting to open the door only to find it locked. The same with the customer door on the other side of the builder. upon looking through the big window of the building I noticed there were two males sitting down talking with each other. In the drive through there was a car stopped with the hood open, a worker looking in the engine compartment and other workers standing out back of the building eating chicken. The workers saw me there. None of them attempted to inform me of why they were closed or to ask me any questions. This location needs the management changed and get some one new who will whip this location into shape. They were good before. However now they are no good. I ordered dinner for my family tonight, and when I got my order it was missing a fish sandwich, Mac n cheese and a soda. So I got a refund for those items and ordered again (yes, I'm optimistic). Again I get my order and the fish sandwich was replaced by a small Mac n cheese!! So I called and NOBODY will answer the phone! what we did get was cold and the teas were warm (supposed to be iced). It was great when it opened but there must have been a change in management. It is awful now! I think the food is good but now, every time something is missing. They stopped offering most sides, they are so incredibly slow (and don't care), and sometimes they honour coupons and other times they don't (it seems to depend who's on duty). I usually do not write reviews of this nature but felt this had to be said. This being the only Popeyes close to the bar district, you would expect it to be run well and efficiently to accommodate the large amount of attention it would draw, however quite the opposite is true. This is the only restaurant that I have encountered in which I have had an issue 100% of the time. I have been 7 times and all 7 I have either been missing an item, charged for things I did not order, or been told that the item is no longer available after I have paid. My experience tonight consisted of a 15 minute wait at the drive thru in which I had to call the store to get them to answer finally and once I received my order I was forced to go back as I was missing both of my sides. Save yourself the time and frustration as this place may as well be a sit down restaurant as it's a 45 minute enraging experience in which you will only be left regretting not making food at home. read more

The food is always good and always hot. If they make a mistake on my order, I call, they always fix it with something better or larger and they apologize. The crew is always friendly. I have had to wait longer than maybe I would have elsewhere but, when I got to the pickup window I found that the manager and maybe one other person were working. Considering how well they were handling our food and getting orders out with less than the normal number of crew, I was pleased and very understanding. The food is great, the employees are friendly. I would rather eat at Popeye's or go through the drive up at Popeye's than go to some other chain where the people barely look at me, never say thank you, and my food is cold before I sit at a table. I've never had such a bad experience visiting a Popeyes location. This location is getting worse as time goes on. Always out of chicken. There can be 3 cars in line and it still takes over 30 mins to get through the line. The lobby is closed. I waited in line 30 mins just to get through the drive through and get yelled at for asking if they had spicy chicken legs. I leave the line and call to complain because of course I'm not spending my money anywhere I'm disrespected and the manager Chiyanne gets on the phone and says she heard the conversation and basically consigns the employees handling of the situation. They never clarified if they no longer customized chicken orders , or if they were out again, or anything while at the window. We just asked about the chicken and the employee started snapping off on the speaker so we drove off. I'm starting to think this location would rather not have customers. I didn't realize they grow chickens so small. The wings and breasts were very small. Out of stock on multiple items, constantly. Employees are not friendly. Didn't receive my entire order, and they pack too much into too small of a bags. The lobby is closed, so you have to go all the way through drive thru to get corrected items. Popeyes knows how to do fried chicken. It's far and away my favorite fried chicken anywhere, and I've tried 5 other local food places that serve fried chicken. The breaded crust is seasoned perfectly, always super crispy, never greasy, and the chicken is hot and juicy on the inside. Nice assortment of sides consistent with southern cuisine - mashed potatoes, biscuits, green beans, cajun rice, etc., but the Popeyes at Ft. Riley and Wichita used to serve collard greens, and I'd love it if we could get it here, too. But maybe Kansas just wasn't ready for collard greens. read more

I've never written a Yelp review, but I felt the need to warn people how bad the service is here. I've gone two times now and it has taken them a couple minutes just to realize I'm waiting to order. They were out of every sauce but ketchup, then when I was at the window the worker forgot my napkins, and then the drink, and then the straw. It can't be that hard to hand people what they ask for.
