As far as I can tell, Rajadhani is the Indian place Wichita has been missing. It has the perfect combination of great food, fine service and a modern, interior-designed dining room that can handle both small and large groups. Located in a new strip mall on the WSU campus, it's the sort of place you'd take a date or a work colleague and not worry about being too casual or too formal. It's usually full of students as well, hopefully helping them to feel less homesick. Other than the nice ambiance, though, the only real difference that I can see between Rajadhani and other Wichita Indian places is the slightly higher price point. It's certainly worth it because this type of Indian "wedding food" is a ton of work and therefore always worth it, but I don't feel like you're getting anything here that you can't get at New Paradise, Himalayan Sherpa or Astoria House for a couple bucks less. Do I recommend Rajadhani? Absolutely. It's delicious and aesthetically tasteful in equal amounts. But as a broke b*tch, I'll probably still keep my visits to special occasions. read more

The best spot in Wichita for an elevated Indian Food experience. Some other spots I've ate at are forgettable. First walking in you have a giant video wall with a huge selection of food and drink. They apparently offer breakfast which I'll have to try another time. I was greeted by the front staff person who was very nice. So nice that when I ordered my food (Butter Chicken, Garlic naan, and a Coke) that he gave me the Coke complimentary and because I had to wait a bit before my order would be entered, complimentary samosas! Samosas probably the best I've had. You could tell these were actually made and the crust was crunchy and buttery. Dipping sauce here included was a great combo. Food came out 10-15 minutes later and it was all really good. Butter chicken as perfect. The rice was plentiful and moist. Garlic naan was spot on fresh, fluffy inside and a little crisp crunch. Garlic was fresh. Now is it pricey? Yes. But when you get the food you see that it was all fresh and elevated. Some places I won't name is not made to order. As in it was probably sitting in a pot for hours or it's gone stale. Not here. The hospitality was great. Friendly service and the right amount of check ins. Ambiance is a mixture of catchy Indian music. Shaded windows as it faces the sun. The walls could use some art in them. I will definitely be coming back as it has taken the #1 spot in Wichita for Indian food. read more

The inside was very modern and clean! Limited seating inside, I can see them quickly expanding in the future. Normally we are prepared to smell like spices and food after going to restaurants but the air was super clear and we didn't even smell like food afterwards! We had a small wait but the employee was very concerned with getting us a table quickly. He was very attentive. It was nice to see how busy they were! We got masala chai, which wasn't too sweet. I was a disappointed with how small it was. The gobi manchuri in medium spice was AMAZING. Full of flavor and crispy. The microgreens and salad were the perfect addition. It was a little spicy for me (my spice tolerance is pretty good) so next time I will get mild. It was a good spice and I could eat it, it just cleared my sinuses and I haven't wanted too spicy due to my stomach lately. Medium chicken tikka masala was delicious!!!! Our new favorite. Plenty of rice, I liked the big chunks of onions and bell pepper. And great flavor, even though it was medium, I didn't think it was spicy. My husband thinks it needed more chicken pieces, but I was content with the amount. We tried the medium spiced fried potoatoe balls, kofti- we were surprised it came in a curry instead of an American croquette. It was really good potato. I didnt think it was spicy at all. It only came with 4 potato balls though. It was fun to try something new. Garlic naan was soooo yummy and garlicky All of this for around $50 and we brought home leftovers we are so excited to eat. To start, this family is very, very welcoming and warm. The plating is enticing, and we started with Gobi Manchurian, a crispy, delicious cauliflower that one epicurian in our party thought was chicken! SO delicious! I'm biased toward Paneer Tikka Masala and it was very flavorful with a plethora of paneer ( in case you've ever wondered why some restaurants treat paneer like gold and you can't find any in your dish). My wife had the lollipop chicken. I tried them too.They were pretty delicious. The naan too was yummy. We had the butter naan and the garlic non is indeed for garlic lovers. We didn't have room for dessert, but they have mango lassi, and several other things. And wait here's a big one! They really make a fantastic huge dosa! It's hard to find a dosa in this town and especially one that isn't wilted, like month old lettuce. This was yum. We were there last week near the opening and back again today. That's a good sign as we plan to go every few weeks. And again it's amazing how many smiling faces and full hearts we encountered plus the place was brimming with Indians, which is always a good sign in an Indian restaurant. Thinking of Ravana who could not be killed inside or outside but had kidnapped Sita. He was dispatched by Lord Rama while standing in a doorway, neither inside nor outside, (from Tales of the Ramayana). So he pretty much deserved it. And because he had ten heads as they say, i'm giving this place twenty thumbs up!!! read more

After The Mango Tree closed there just hasn't been any where that has quite met the same expectations and level of taste for me. I am sooo pleased to say Rajadhani is that place. It is NOT The Mango Tree, let's be clear. However, our meals were delicious and the flavors were complex. If you want more pictures, peep the Overland Park location and reviews. The flavors must be closer to authentic as many remark that the patrons are often Indian which is big clue for how the food is. I cannot speak to service or ambience yet as this was delivery only. Food: Butter chicken - okay, okay I know butter chicken is "chicken nuggets" of Indian food but my husband likes what he likes and he said the flavor was the best he's had in Wichita. I had a bite and it was good. He got medium spice and next time I'll get him the hot. Medium for the butter chicken was not spicy to him. Full disclosure he does like very spicy food so take that with a grain of salt. Rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked. Vegetarian Korma. Wow did this have big, bold flavor. For me it needed a tad bit of salt but honestly stuff like that I truly feel is a personal preference and not somrthing that I feel should be a criticism. The next person could feel it was perfectly salted. In no way shape or form did I miss any type of meat in this dish. This korma does not have super big chunks of vegetables. Occasional identifiable piece of corn, carrot, potato, and I think green bean but you know what-- the flavor was so good, I didn't really miss the big chunks I've seen in other kormas. In fact, didn't even think about it once until I was thinking about this review. I will say though WOW was their level of spicy, spicy. I'm Korean. I live by spice and holy heck was it hot. I have read that spice levels can vary between curries. If you've ever had the buldalk fire noodles and used the full packet of fire sauce...that is how hot the spicy korma was to me. It hurt but in an irresistible way. I have a funny feeling I'll be sorry later but as this very second, my belly is happy, full, and warm from all the spice. Dosa. I got the paneer one. I'm going out on a limb and saying don't order one for delivery. Eat it in restaurant. They don't travel well because they're basically thin fried crepey pancakes with some kind of filling and rolled. By the time it got to my house it was a little soggy and really I think it was just the fragility of the dish. No one's fault. It came with three dipping sauces. No idea what they were but they were all basically savory. One I think had tamarind in it, one was I believe cashew and yogurt based, and the other was maybe some kind of sambal? My knowledge of Dosa's is limited because you honestly don't see those much around here. Garlic naan was sooo garlicy but so good. The garlic was fresh and sharp tasting and the bread itself was soft. No overly charred pieces. Honestly I cannot wait to try them again.
