This place is kinda hard to find as they have 2 names and the store isn't clearly visible. They have a single reserved parking spot in the back of the store (see picture and park in the Mehana snack shop marked spot) then walk around the corner to the front of the store. I wanted a snack before driving home so we quickly stopped here. The soft serve machine was broken so we settled for shaved ice. Not gonna lie but at first I didn't like the crunchy ice and sparse syrup but by the time we were done, everything was melted together and the juice hit the spot! They sell local snacks like crack seed snacks and li hing mui items. They also sell musubis, chips, ice cream, coffee, boba drinks and shave ice. A recent addition is their Dole Whip soft serve! So glad we found this little shop. This is definitely added to my "must have" list when I come to Hawaii. My mom and I were looking for a little treat and were looking forward to trying the soft serve, but the machine wasn't working. The one employee was running the shop by himself and worked very hard to get all the orders out alone. He was very kind and thankful for our patience. The Sunset Lemonade was absolutely delicious. Perfectly refreshing after spending the day at the beach. Even my mom, who is very particular about her drinks, loved it. Just discovered this place last week because I was looking for something sweet to eat and I noticed they have Hawaiian Frozen soft serve. And the best part, it's less than 5 minutes away from my work! When we got here the place was locked with no sign on the door. But a couple minutes later the worker returned (I think she might've gone to the restroom). Nonetheless, she was very nice. I ordered a small soft serve - flavors of the day were pineapple and haupia which was so good! Together it tasted almost like a piña colada. They have so many good looking snacks in there. And they even have lunch plates. I wanted to buy more things but I already had lunch. It seems like most of their items are local companies. I want to go back sometime soon to try their boba and other menu items. I'm glad I found this place! It's really close to the lumpia shop. It was hard to find at first and there's no designated parking for this particular place, but we parked in the guest stalls that were for the other businesses right around there. Oops. We initially went because of the Hawaiian soft serve but keep going back because we like it for the small neighborhood convenience vibe. They have daily lunch specials which I like. The soft serve is good. They don't indicate what is lactose free so if you're like my partner/husband, you'll need to ask each time. Sometimes it's a win and other times we leave with just me getting something. On the days we can't do the soft serve (flavors change) I get an Uncle's ice cream sandwich. My daughter and I ran into this cute little store while driving around the neighborhood looking for another business. We are always craving local sweets so when we read that it was a snack shop, we just had to go in and check it out. We sure was glad we did! There was a wall of all the li hing mui snacks that we helped ourselves too - rock salt plum, strawberry belts, lemon peel gummy bears, and some sweet li hing mui. They were really fresh unlike other places that taste stale from being on the shelf for awhile. They also had all sorts of drinks, shave ice, ice cream, and more! It's a one stop shop for all your sweet local cravings. I really wanted to get them all but unfortunately at my age, I can't indulge in them like I could before. But that's okay because this gives us a reason to keep coming back when our cravings hit. The place is located next to park for those wanting to get a refreshing shave ice/drink and hang outside. This was great spot to get a quick snack and some delicious soft serve ice creams. The shop is nestled in the corner of a Kapolei neighborhood. The snacks that are offered take you back to your childhood with its assortments of cotton candy, sour rainbow strips and other goodies. The staff was friendly and greeted me as I walked in. The thing that attracted me most to the ice cream was the twist mix of pink and blue, which was a lovely combination but it also tasted awesome as well! Google maps took us to the exact location.. found street parking right in front of this cute little shop. As we walked in, immediately we were greeted by two employees and a little girl. They have a variety of items in their store, from sodas, shave ice, coffee, teas, musubis, local snacks and even saimin. My daughter ordered a small shave ice with Mochi balls and condensed milk. She loved it! I got a musubi and let me tell you it was amazing! I don't know what type of teriyaki sauce was on it but it was really good. Definitely recommending this place to family and friends. On a side note, maybe they could add umbrella tables/chairs right outside for people to enjoy their yummy snacks? Not to sure how strict that area is on having things like that outside. read more

Cute little shop hidden away in a residential area. It took us a while to find it because the store isn't marked clearly from the parking lot where the mobile maps directed us, but it faces Kakala Street. We came here for a last helping of shave ice before heading back home - the flavors were pretty standard and ice was nothing special but the portion on the small was generous, the syrups were good, and everyone enjoyed it. Our consensus was that the shave ice was just okay, but the best thing about this place is the variety of treats and snacks available if not everyone in your party wants shave ice. They have a great selection of Uncle's ice cream sandwiches (which are awesome!), snacks/candy, custom Hawaiian-style popcorn, actual food and soft serve. Service was friendly but the one guy behind the counter was by himself so it took a long time to serve our two families (8 ppl total) - don't come here if you have a large party and you're in a hurry! Otherwise, worth the visit if you're in Kapolei, but maybe not if you have to go a lot out of your way. read more

The tea was ok, service was good and clean place but a little to high priced for my taste. Took my grandkids here but I don't think we will return just a bit to rich for my pocket. They have all verities for snacks and goodies to fit everyone's tastebuds. I love the shave ice and the Galaxy tea The Hawaiian frost is always good too. The laulau is amazing!! The Pasteles are awesome too. All the food is a must try at least once. This location also has a pop up even hosted every 3rd Saturdays of the month with so much good food/crafts offered from different vendors. It's from 10a to 3p and I highly recommend checking that out as well. I didn't get a chance to try last time because it was sold out but I heard they have someone selling Pastele pork hash and Pastele Musubis! I got a full bag of chips, 2 bottles of soda two snack sized nutter butter for my nephew and a musubi all for 15 bucks here. The price is right and the staff was friendly and local, I love supporting small local businesses and shops like this because of the atmosphere. Nice community and they really show the aloha. If you live in the neighborhood you guys should really take a walk down here. It's close to all of these houses and right next to the basketball courts across of the pool :) we'll be back the next time we come for one of my niece or nephews dentist appointment much mahalos !! read more

I have been waiting for this place to open for what seems like FOREVER! I'm so glad they are up and running! More than anything else this place gives you a hanabata days feel with a modern twist. Like you are simultaneously teleported back to small kid times where you could cruise the neighborhood with no worries, go to the local snack shop, get some local goodies that remind you of days long ago yet they kinda hipster now at the same time. The owners are the most hospitable people and they really put that energy into their store. Before they even opened, I was hooked on their cold brew coffee. They change it up, do different blends so there is a mix of flavors. It's so smooth, and concentrated, so you can dilute it as needed and make it last even longer. I like my coffee to punch me in the face in the morning, as I lovingly nuzzle the cup. My favorite is when they do the Thai style coffee, Cafe Du Monde, super rich dark kinds. They have many other blends if you like a softer, more gentle nudge from your coffee. Their sauces are divine! Somen sauce seems to be a jack of all trades. Somen - yes. Spam musubi marinade - oh yeah. Meats? Mmmm hmmm. Cracked pepper is lovely with pasta salads. Ono pineapple drizzle makes some lovely salsas as well as a nice dipping sauce. The wasabi oil is lovely on some fresh sashimi. Ask them for more suggestions, I'm sure they have plenty! They are often trying out new menu items too, which are always delish. What has turned me into a crack dealer of sorts is their beef chips. I literally take orders for my coworkers who don't want to drive to Kapolei yet say their beef chips are the best they ever had. I brought one girl 20 bags today and witnessed some scalping in the office as someone needed mainland omiyage in a hurry. Seriously! It's that good. Have some patience as they work out their hours and offerings. Brand new business so they are tweaking things but wowza they have some amazing offerings and lots of heart. read more

Andy and Jen run this local snack shack, that has Much More than what you'd expect: Poke (Marlin poke yesterday, Ahi today I believe), Spam Musubi, Shaved Ice (GREAT flavors, including originals), and TERRIFIC Coffees and Teas. Of course they have 'snacks,' candy, drinks, ice cream bars, etc. too - plus their 'Hawaiian Kine' spices and beach supply rentals. I was driving and passed Mehana Snack Shop. I stopped, not sure what I would find. They had food/snacks, cold drinks, teas...and shaved ice. As I can never make up my mind, a Rainbow was suggested (Strawberry, Banana, Blue Vanilla). I add the "snow cap" of condensed milk. It was a bit expensive (A half gallon of ice cream comes to mind)... but my eyes enlarged as I washed the ice continue to be packed into the container! The final result was incredible AND delicious! This is a super cozy little snack shop located conveniently (for me) in the middle of the Mehana community. It's a small clean shop with a nice community seating area and right next to the park. It's still very new so I am excited to see what they do in the future. The main highlights are: *The cold brewed coffee. The young man, who's name I rudely didn't ask for, that makes the cold brew coffee is very knowledgeable. Seems cold brewing has been a passion of his since he was younger. I am not big on coffee so I was hesitant. After hearing him talk about the process and benefits of cold brew coffee I couldn't resist trying. I am sold! There is a very clear difference in the taste. *Their home made snacks. They have their own seasoning brand "Hawaiian kine" I believe. They use their blends and sauces to make their snacks like Musubi, somin salad sandwiches ect... Their musubi was ono with my tai coffee. *The Shaved ice, their syrups are made with natural flavoring with lots of ono choices. You can also add extra mix ins. Condensed milk, red bean, ice cream, the usual local stuffs. The ice is nicely smooth shaven and the syrup is tasty. I was pretty excited to see a nice little snack shop open in our area. They have a variety of chips, candy, musubi (my kids fave) anything a convenience store would have but kid friendly. They have shave ice, ice cream and even coffee for the parentals.
