I've tried their delicious rajas con crema, but had to return to try their tacos de Birria. Really enjoyed the combination of the savory consommé and crispy tacos. The Birria was really tender and perfectly seasoned. I also loved having multiple salsas to choose from and the red onion and cilantro medley. Will need to return to try their Birria torta and their corn cake à la mode. Service and ambiance was wonderful as well.

Visited here because our Airbnb Host recommended it. I wish I had kept photos of this place because everything I had was great. I got their chicken with mole and sorry to my mom but they know how to throw it down. The mole was super flavorful and to some extent had some smokiness to it, really well done. I asked for an extra side of rice in substitute of their beans (just don't like beans in general) and I'm assuming it was the owner said that wouldn't be a problem. He was actually really nice talking to other people visiting the restaurant. I can't remember what it was called but it was the shot of espresso with Horchata. The Horchata was really silky and very good. As much as I love coffee/espresso, I would enjoy it without it since they give it to you in the little cup for you to pour in. Nothing was wrong with the espresso but with how good he horchata was I felt like I was doing a disservice putting the espresso in the drink (no disrespect though) Lastly, they give you these tortilla chips with salsa. I didn't even try the salsa so I can't speak on it but the chips are those double fried ones¿??? Absolute gas and not oily like other places do it and still held its "freshness" Overall, this place was definitely fire. Parking in the back was pretty easy too. If I ever come back to Cali and I'm looking for some mole/ nice Mexican food. This place is it.

First time trying things out in this area of SoCal. My bf and I found Rajas con Crema on Yelp and were immediately intrigued-- Mexican/Italian fusion...? (have never seen this before...) Only street parking in this area (2 hr max). Restaurant is along the street, fairly unassuming. Interior is clean and homey. For a weekend afternoon, it was relatively empty. The owner warmly greeted us right away. AGUA FRESCA (jamaica): House-made. Pretty refreshing, not too sweet. CEVICHE TROPICAL: One of the more unique ceviches I've had-- the jicama, imitation crab, and shrimp came together so well. Super bright and a little spicy. CAJUN PASTA WITH CHICKEN: This is actually the best cajun pasta I've had LOL. Soooooo creamy and flavorful, with big chunks of chicken. Fresh parm is a must. It comes with bread to scoop up that good sauce *_* This is a huge portion, enough for two meals. CHURRO CHEESECAKE: The churro on top is mostly decoration only... Or so the owner says. It's hard as a rock LOL. The cheesecake though, OMG. So luscious and dreamy~~ The inedible churro is forgiven. Very happy to start off the first meal of our LA trip here ^_^

Please support this establishment if you're wondering where to eat next. Honestly, Rajas Con Crema has been my go to restaurant. I think I've eaten here about 20 times now, and every time I am fully satisfied. Satisfied with the food, the quality, the staff, the take out and even their fresh flowers on each table. I have brought my extended family to try the food here because of how much I love it. Javier has always made us feel at home and has always made great conversation with my little one, which I really appreciate. (Sometimes restaurants forget that children are people too and want to be in conversation too) Anyways, I can go into how each dish is delicious but I'll just say this, they have alllll been delicious. Their chips with salsas are the best! I always want to take their salsas home with me haha I always try to get a side of Rajas con crema because it is the best! I can never choose between salsa verde or mole for my enchiladas because I want both! If you dine in you can actually ask for both in one order which I love! My daughter loves her enfrijoladas de queso. Oh my! And the tacos de birria a la plancha are finger licking good! And no, I don't know anyone personally and I am not getting compensated for this review. Lol it's just that I love the food here! So yea, can't wait to eat here again!

YUMMY!! Was able to find free up front street parking. They still sat us close to closing and didn't rush us whatsoever. Complementary house made chips and salsa, he wasn't kidding when he said the tomatillo one had layers of flavor.. I couldn't get enough!! We ordered the chicken rajas and popular pasta (was able to sub out the bacon for chicken). Both came with a few slices of baguette bread freshly made. Both were delicious and generous portions. Drinks were delicious too!! Sangria and Cadillac mag. Both were very delicious and good sized portions. 5 stars all around for good service and food!! Def recommend

Where do I start? The place has this salon for event/ party vibe looking at decor, Staff is friendly and attentive, they got a Mexican Italian fusion food. Food was well made, fresh and delicious. Meat, veggies, shrimp, and pasta seasoned very good for my taste. Agua de horchata was fresh, didn't taste premade. Tiramisu was great, could taste the coffee and it wasn't overpowering, chips and salsa were good. Everything here made fresh and taste like homemade. Worth the wait and price.

This place is a gem! The food is amazing and they have the best cafe de olla! If you stop by for breakfast on Saturday or Sunday the chilaquiles verdes are a must paired with a chorizo queso fundido for appetizer. The owners are wonderful, and service is great!

I can honestly see why Rajas Con Crema is on the Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S! I've only done takeout but I decided to dine in for Valentine's Day and had such a great time. The service was amazing-- I was given a rose too which I thought was such a beautiful touch! The vibe inside is elegant and modern. There weren't many people dining in for the afternoon but I can see this place getting pretty busy during the weekend, so I would probably make a reservation if you choose to come during that time. I got the Fajitas de Pollo and an Horchata ( not pictured). Everything was absolutely delicious! The Fajitas were cooked perfectly and the chicken was extremely juicy! The horchata was just the right amount of sweetness too. There were many dishes that sound so good on their menu and they had many vegetarian dishes too! I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options on the menu and I'm looking forward to trying their Cajun Pasta next! Unfortunately I did not have room for dessert but I definitely would've gotten the Tiramisu or their Fried Plantains. I had such a great experience and cannot wait to come again!

Ask the Community - Rajas con Crema

What's your capacity for a private event?

I would say to call and ask them, but my workplace has done Christmas parties here twice. Our group has about 23 to 25 people. They were able to accommodate us both times comfortably and still have room for other guests too.

    Do you cater?

Yes. Call us for more details.

I saw one Yelp reviewer noted you have some vegan options, so I'm wondering what those are? Thank you!

We have several options. Calabacitas, veggie enchiladas, Ensalada de la Casa, taquitos and several of our pastas can be done with veggies only.

Is the outdoor dining still available on weekdays?

Yes. Please let us know ahead of time to have it set up.

Hi, do you stop serving breakfast after a specific time?

Yes. We stop serving breakfast at 3 pm.

Is this place still open for pick up I really wanna try it?

Hi Luis. We are open for pick up. Please go to our website to look at our hours of operation, our menu and to place an order. We have a couple of promotions on our website.…

Does this place do gift cards?

    Yes we do.

The people who work there are so friendly and kind, and the food is amazing. I still remember the crema de chicharron soup that I had the first time we went, and the chile en nogada and enchiladas tres moles are so delicious--they're my family's favorites, but you really can't go wrong. It's so hard to describe what makes them so wonderful; you taste so many different ingredients and yet the flavors balance so perfectly. Whatever the soup of the day is, you should get it; they're all delicious, especially the crema de chile poblano. My wife and I don't live close by, so we can only make it out here every few months. But for years, it's been our place to come for date nights or special occasions--birthdays, anniversaries--and you only have to look around the restaurant to know that it's the same for many other families, too. It's a beautiful and welcoming place to come, with so much art and often live music; it just feels full of life on a busy dinner shift. During the pandemic, we were still coming here when nobody was eating indoors; we'd drive an hour to Bell, pick up our take-out, and eat in the car. And in the middle of all the grief and uncertainty of that time, it was still such a treat. More than a treat; something joyful and soulful in such a hard time. We went to La Casita last night for our anniversary, and we saw Chef Jaime chatting in the parking lot with a friend (who turned out to be an artist working on murals for the restaurant). We recognized him and said a quick hi, and we were going to keep walking, because we didn't expect that he'd know us. But he recognized us, even though it's been a while, and he was so warm and welcoming. He even called the restaurant to order us a glass of wine on the house for our anniversary. We were really touched. And, as always, we had a delicious dinner and fabulous time. If you've never been, I hope you give La Casita a try. We love it so much, and I think you will, too. P.S. Get the jamaica margarita.

It's rare that a soup has me hitting a stank face, but here we are. The Camarones al mojo de ajo is a can't miss appetizer. It's succulent shrimp sauteed in butter and fresh garlic, made to be eaten with the piping hot homemade tortillas. Service is attentive, the food has its charm with in-house made tortillas. It really was a hard review to write because all the elements of a great restaurant is embodied in this hidden gem. I chalk it up to ordering the wrong items. The flavors did not pop for me. Hubby opted for the chorizo and he said it was decent and he described it as "diet chorizo"--that he'd probably needed to go back to Sinaloa to capture the true essence of "real" chorizo, the way it's meant to be. The star of his meal was the in-house made flour tortillas-now that's authentic! This is/was the reason that it leaned towards a 4 star. These looked and tasted phenomenal. The aroma took me back to the times when we visited Rosarito's Puerto Nuevo, as the lady made the tortillas by hand & pressed them in the comal, ahh, good times. I ordered the vegetarian omelette with beans & potatoes. The omelette was decent with fresh bell peppers & onions but the seasoning was so mild that I requested for salt & pepper. The potatoes appeared well seasoned in color but lacked that oomph that salt & pepper couldn't fix. My apple pancakes were average. While I appreciated the strawberry compote, there was no apple or apple taste in them. To wash everything down, I had cafe de olla, that was good. The aroma of the brown sugar & cinnamon was ever present. Estrella, our server was very welcoming, attentive and friendly, she gets 5 stars for her service with a smile & hospitality. Their lunch & dinner menu looked very appealing but we wanted breakfast items. We wish we were both molé enthusiasts then perhaps we would've better appreciated & enjoyed those offerings. Both indoor & outdoor seating (front & rear), parking is free & shared with their liquor store at this corner small plaza. Beware, no restrooms available. I'm glad we gave this little shop a try.
