The only consideration to have for Susan is that she sometimes did not respond to my emails as quickly as I had hoped. Separately, Susan can come off as very direct and circumspect, so if you are expecting a warm and fuzzy lawyer, this is not the person. None of these things came at the expense of her being an honest, high quality expert in her field. I'm sure that he thought that he was doing his due diligence for his client, but after the client (me) has answered multiple times, I really feel like the lawyer should just shut up and listen. On top of that, he made MANY errors in our paperwork, and, naturally, charged me to fix them. I will never, ever recommend him, and I will, in fact, advise other people to stay away from him. On the bright side, the Accountant, Ruth Zetlin, is lovely, and despite the fact that I only dealt with her regarding billing, I appreciated every interaction. The problems and delays arose when Nelson tried to talk me out of decisions that my ex-husband and I had already made (e.g. that I would not extend the 50/50 split of his 401k accounts after the date that I officially moved out).
