Stopped in for a meeting this week. Wasn't expecting much. But the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley on Marriott Drive has a way of making you reconsider that assumption the moment you walk in. The staff set the tone. Genuinely warm, not performatively so. The kind of attentiveness that doesn't feel like training but natural. I'm local, which means I have options. I don't need to default to anything. But there's something to be said for a place that actually has everything under one roof.... restaurant, bar, coffee, gym, event space, meeting rooms. And pulls it off without any one thing feeling like an afterthought. That's harder than it looks. Whether you're hosting a client, planning something personal, or just need a night away without actually leaving the city, Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley has it. The Raleigh Marriot Crabtree Valley was my temporary home this week. I stayed here for three nights. It served as the hotel where the conference I was attending was held also. Because this was a work trip, outside of a visit to Crabtree Valley Mall across the street, I spent most of my time in Raleigh at the hotel. Pros: - Nice, well-designed rooms with comfortable beds and linens, mini fridge, safe, closet, and functional areas (desk, couch, club chair with lamp, etc.). After working all day, I could recharge, relax, and get a good night's sleep - Gym on the lower level - good assortment of machines, free weights, mats, equipment, etc. Well maintained and clean. Towels, sanitizing wipes, and water bottle refill station. 24/7 access. - Friendly staff at front desk, housekeeping, and all the people working the conference room/salons/food stations. Very professional. - Food and refreshments provided during the conference were good overall - (assuming they churned out the food on premise). Cons: - Some of the electrical sockets in the rooms are loose. My colleague noticed this was the case for her room, too. While it looked like our electrical devices were plugged in, they were not charging overnight. We were searching for sockets throughout the conference day. I would be happy to go to Marriot Crabtree Valley again if it were the designated conference hotel for an event in the future. read more

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I was in town for just over a week and was happy to call this location home during that time. There is a mall across the street that was easy to walk to. There was plenty of parking around the hotel and they also had valet, The rooms were big and had nicely appointed bathrooms as well. I loved that I was able to workout in my room if I wanted due to all the space I had. The bar downstairs and restaurant were great for lounging and chatting with other travelers in the evenings. The decor in the lobby area is nicely updated and has a artistic flair I appreciated. I would recommend this location without question. read more

This hotel needs major upgrades. The tub was stopped up. Kinda gross when you want to take a shower after leaving a concert late at night. There was also clear duct tape peeling off the ceiling. The iron needs to be replaced and the toilet was not cleaned properly. See pictures and proceed with caution. In the morning I told my husband about the experience and he spoke with the manager. The manager informed him that I should have said something when I got there and they could have fixed the issues. The problem was my kid and I didn't have enough time to look around when we got there. We had to leave to attend a concert. All these issues were discovered when we arrived later that night. Oh well, lesson learned on my part. Would I stay here again? Maybe. I will say that we slept pretty good. read more

This hotel is across the street from a shopping mall but is relatively quiet. It is on a hill and has an entrance at the level of the parking lot so you don't have to walk up the hill. I experienced smooth checkin and checkout, including a late checkout which I value for telework. The room was more modest than I expected and the bed wasn't as comfortable as I like. The bit of skin irritation I get from cleaning products occasionally popped up. They had a lounge which had breakfast and snacks but I was unable to make it in. The elevators were running a bit slowly due to repairs. I didn't experience any major problems, but I had expected a bit more of a luxurious experience at this price range. read more

PROs- location , room was ok CONs - no free breakfast , 10$ parking fee !!! No good restaurant inside .. Had been to a cricket match in NC and booked a room here , to be close to the ground . Location wise it was good . Lots of shopping options near this hotel. There is a mall right opposite to the hotel . Rooms were good . Nice and spacey .. restrooms were neat and clean. Came believe they charge 10$ for parking ! Have never ever paid for parking in my life , especially when it is an open parking which adds dust to ur car.. it's not even crowded . My car was one of the 10 other cars in the huge parking lot , which is outside the hotel . And no free breakfast for a 150$ hotel ! There were so many other restaurants nearby that gave free breakfast . There is not even a good restaurant/ food spot inside the hotel . Quite disappointed with Marriott on this . Thought of giving a 2 star but gave 3 because of the location and bar service . read more

This review is not about a hotel stay but about a conference I attended. The meeting facilities were decent and food provided was pretty good. There was even an outdoor patio area where you could sit. I found a quiet corner near the meeting rooms to plug in my laptop and do some work. It took me a while for the conference staff to give me the conference wifi password. Parking seemed to fill up pretty quick. Oddly, a fire alarm went off during one of our sessions but everyone was allowed back in after the firemen came. Location is across the street from Crabtree Valley Mall, which I visited during a long break. I didn't want to try crossing the busy Glenwood Avenue, so I actually drove across the street. read more

Enjoyed this hotel for a one-night weekend stay. I think there's probably been a fairly recent renovation, as the lobby looks new and the carpets in the hallways throughout are in very good shape. The lobby bar was pretty hopping on a Saturday night and the servers kept up well. I liked the room fine. It was a bit of a smaller footprint than most of this class of Marriotts, but the space was used well. The bathroom was regular size and the sleeping area was slightly condensed. One thing I really liked as a leisure traveler was that the desk was smaller and left room for both a chair and a love seat in the sitting area. A pop of color is provided by the teal headboard with a stylized old-time map of North Carolina. Sheets and mattress were average, but comfortable enough. I liked the modern-feel trapezoidal shelving unit as a distinctive design piece. If you were staying more than a couple of days, you might find the closet and drawer space lacking. Anything you could possibly want or need can be found across the street at Crabtree Valley Mall. One note -- the parking at the mall is a nightmare, so if you are willing and able to brave crossing Glenwood Avenue, it might be easier to go on foot. read more

Went to an event there. The room looked kinda dated. It was a good size though. The food was really good. There was some kind of steak, and I wish I could've gotten more and taken it home, it was so good. I did have to park kinda far to have to walk in heels, but other than that I enjoyed! read more

I absolutely love Marriott and really do like my room. The bed is very comfortable and really like the couch and chair. The bathroom is really nice too. What I really enjoy is the extra outlets and I mean extra with a special extension cord on the night stand. What I found very disappointing is that I finally became a gold member and I did not receive a gift bag when I checked in. I'm use to receiving a small gift bag as a silver member at all the Marriott's I stayed in last year and was envious of the larger bag that the gold members got. When I mentioned it to the front desk, I was quickly told, we don't do that here. And i was told that they left some complimentary waters in my room. Two small water bottles didn't make me feel special. Over all, I really like the room. Disappointed in feeling like I was being treated/appreciated for my loyalty. read more

PRESCRIPTION PILL FOUND IN OUR ROOM BY MY YOUNG SON My two young sons and I chose Marriott this past weekend with the expectation of a clean and safe environment at a bare minimum. Unfortunately, our experience was far from that. To my shock, my young son discovered a prescription pill on the floor of our hotel room. This could have resulted in a life-threatening situation had he ingested it. Thankfully, we noticed it in time, but the very thought of what could have happened is traumatizing. I never imagined I would need to worry about something so dangerous in what I thought was a nice hotel. When I brought this issue to the attention of the hotel manager, I received a brief apology and was offered 5,000 Marriott points -- the equivalent of about $40. Frankly, this felt like an inadequate response to such a serious oversight. Afterwards, I also contacted corporate, hoping for a more thorough and empathetic resolution. Instead, I received an impersonal follow-up indicating that the hotel would "review" the case, which gave me no reassurance that the issue would be addressed meaningfully or that steps would be taken to prevent this from happening again. Is this how you handle these sorts of potentially life threatening situations, Marriott? Passing the buck to shut up the customer and offering the lowest possible "resolution." This can be read as nothing but pure greed. I am not someone who complains easily -- I understand that mistakes happen. But this was not a minor issue. It was a severe safety hazard that could have had irreversible consequences. I spent the rest of the night anxious and unable to sleep, worried there might be other hazards in the room. This is not the standard of care and cleanliness one should expect from any hotel, especially not Marriott. Is Marriott comfortable knowing a child could have died in one of its rooms due to a lack of proper cleaning? At this point, I am hesitant to stay with Marriott again, given the lack of urgency and compassion shown in response to this frightening incident. read more

We stayed overnight in this hotel recently. It's in the perfect location right across the street from Crabtree Valley Mall & there's easy access to I-440. Anything you could want is probably nearby. The staff was ok. The cleanliness of the room was another story. It was dirty and dusty. Stains. Dirty clothes left behind. Dirty stained tub. JUST GROSS!!!! I couldn't wait to get out of there. There was as no microwave either; only a mini-fridge. That made it hard to bring leftovers back from dinner across the street that needed to be warmed up. They have a gym and pool that we didn't get to utilize. There was a huge wedding party staying there when we were there, so every area was packed. I didn't feel like being around all of those unmasked people. All in all, if I'm in a pinch and there's nothing else available, I may stay there. It definitely wouldn't be my first choice though. read more

Located on Glenwood Ave across from Apple Crabtree Valley Mall. It has a good location also not far from the Raleigh airport. The rooms were decent size and clean. Refrigerator and coffee machine but no microwave. They have large shampoo and conditioner bottles which saves plastic and good for the environment. Their fitness center has enough equipment to get a decent workout (see photo). There was leg extension, leg curls, pull-ups machine, pull downs, and bench machine. Two benches that move to incline. Some kettle bells. About 5 treadmills and some exercise ball with two bikes. The ballroom was good size. The internet seemed to cut out at times which was annoying. No view from the room we were in. We could only see the top of part of the hotel. They do have a breakfast buffet for $22. It is similar to the free buffets you get at La Quinta and other hotels. But this buffet does not have pancakes or waffles. Definitely not worth $22. The eggs were pretty dry and the sausage was below average. read more

Been to many Marriott's throughout the years, as I am a Bonvoy credit card holder Marriott's are usually my to go hotel. This hotel in particular is excellent, from great customer service, to the cleanliness of the hotel it def is a great thing. I had the pleasure of dealing with Daniel what a great guy! He'd be running this hotel and not only the front desk. You can easily see when someone got skills! I had a great stay here and will definitely be back and also recommend this hotel to my friends. Had a great time and very clean. Friendly staff for the most part. There was a inappropriate spoken incident by the staff that was quietly taken care of with embarrassment on both parties. Rooms clean and nice. Still adhere to covid rules People complaints about towels, our tv stopped working found out it needed to be reset. Those issues were fixed right away. Love the the way the shower shampoos were on the wall. Loved the pool area. Plenty of parking a mall across the street. For the club hoppers down the street.l lots of trees and plants no smoking rules but for those who do it was a space for them. Breakfast was ok except I guess they were pancakes and strawberries and french toast was hard as a rock. Everything else was ok. Variety of things to eat from the buffet or you could order from menu. They had a washer and dryer and gym. Lounge and bar area. Plenty of conference. Rooms. Check in out were easy. Big windows comfy beds. Just not enough drawer space for two bed room. Lovely. Hotel staff is nice and accommodating, but with that said the hotel has some issues: 1. Shower drain didn't drain. We let the front desk know, they said they would get it fixed never happened. 2. Toilet was clogged. See #1 3. Room smelled like mildew. 4. Pool and pool area needed to be cleaned, found broken glass that looked like it had been there for a while and a piece of fried chicken was hanging on a chair. 5. Their were no hooks and the only one towel rod in the shower itself. Overall we probably won't stay there again, but the location is convenient. read more

We attended an event here that had over 300 people. My daughter got inducted as president of an association she belongs to. Proud Mama!! The food was very good, I had the vegetarian ravioli and salad. Cheesecake for dessert was perfect. The servers were professional and prompt and discreet so they didn't interrupt the event. Nicely done and a beautiful room with great acoustics. My daughter and her husband were treated to a hospitality suite and it was amazing. 2 full bathrooms and quite spacious. The bar got very crowded after our event but they handled the crowd well. read more

Not a bad hotel just not great. I typically love Marriott's, I just didn't love this one. First off I was given a handicap accessible room which I said I didn't mind when they asked but geez what a mess the shower made. The first shower, I practically flooded the bathroom. The next few showers I got better at keeping the water from going everywhere but had to use a towel in the floor to do so. But I really don't think this was designed very well anyway. I came here on a business trip and really needed to work in my room and that was out of the question. No desk in the room and I didn't even have a table and chair. When I asked others in our group whether they had a desk, a lot of them said no but some at least had a small table. I wound up going down to the lobby to work which also proved difficult since there were a ton of people down there every day. Very loud, so forget trying to concentrate. This was a huge frustration for me. We had our annual sales meeting here and I found the event space rather odd since we were given round tables to sit at and that can be awkward when you are trying to look at the front of the room for the presenters. But maybe we had asked for those round tables, I don't know. I will say this, they did a really good job with the food for our event. Everything was buffet style and there was plenty of food. The food was all really good, especially the fish. I had mahi mahi for lunch once day and it was delicious. I also had salmon one evening and that was really good too. read more

I stayed here for the first time while visiting the area. I liked that you can walk over to the mall across the (busy) road. I checked in late and the younger guy that checked me in was very personable. He is definitely an asset to the hotel. I'm sorry I forgot his name. Anyway, my hotel room was clean and my bed was comfy. Unfortunately everyone slams their door and it kept me up the two nights I was there. I inquired about staying a third night because it is a pain changing hotels. The older employee at the reception area gave me the price. I asked him if there any discounted rates. He asked me if I was a senior citizen! I told him no. That made me feel very sad about my appearance. I won't be back. read more

The staff here are amazingly polite, the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and super clean, and the location is convenient to the airport. While this place is far from a luxury hotel - it's definitely a place catering to business travelers - I found it just as good, if not better, than other hotels in the area. There was no tv remote and the beds were very uncomfortable. By the time I was back to the room I felt it was too late to ask for assistance or switch rooms. I am a loyal Marriott customer and I was shocked that this property would go down as one of the worse stays I have had at a Marriott. The pictures look great and the area is nice. Understanding that some things are out of the control of the staff there are things that can be done to make up for those things. Checking in, was a busy and hectic experience as the systems were down and I had to get walked up to the room and let in with a master key by the front desk. I was never asked if I wanted breakfast vouchers or points as I normally would be the last six years in a row with Titanium Elite status. My room was an "upgrade" using my suite night reward credits. I wish I wouldn't have wasted them on this room. Right next to the elevator and a small balcony overlooking the roof of the hotel. Upon entering the room had no towels, no hand soap bars, and definitely did not offer the clean feeling I would expect from the pictures I saw of this place online. Next the toilet was clogged and wouldn't flush, after calling down three times the maintenance staff came with a plunger and couldn't fix it. Next he had to get the "snake" while my family sat in our room, he snaked the toilet which sounded disgusting: finally the toilet flushed. I was so tired at this point of having to go to the front desk or ask for things. I was out of energy to call and tell them my sheets kept coming off the bed and didn't fit right, I had to make my own bed a few times during the night because of it. Next morning housekeeping came by while we were still sleeping and I told them no service at the moment. As we were about to depart for the day I called to the front desk and asked them to send housekeeping to clean up so we could at least come back to a fresh room, maybe some redemption for how terrible it had been this far. After the front desk had said "I already turned down housekeeping and they would see what they could do." I thought this meant, I care about our guests and will make it happen. Surprisingly, after coming back to the hotel that night, the beds were not maid and the housekeeping staffs tip I left was still on the bed and towels used on the floor. I was not surprised at this point and only more upset at this experience. Upon checkout I had felt completely let down by this hotel staff I only asked if I could get my points bonus as I was never offered it upon check in. They gave me the points and I left and I do not plan on staying at this property again. I read the reviews closely after my stay and I started to see people who have had the same problems as I had. I do not know how this place had 4.3 stars after my experience. If you are thinking of staying here I would not recommend it, or come at your own risk. I have stayed in Raleigh several times at the Marriott Stateview Hotel and had a completely opposite experience every time. Management at Crabtree should take a field trip to that property and see how it is run to make things right and how they should be for your guests. To the manager: Rather than rely to this with an apology and saying you will take this feedback to the management and staff, save the time you would waste responding and take real action; fix these problems or take the Marriott name from this property and don't confuse and let down loyal customers like myself. read more

The hotel is next to a great mall so everything is expensive. The room itself was nice. The is a refrigerator but no microwave. The bed is platform and hard as a board. Make sure to get a room by the elevator or you'll be walking a ways. Also all the doors slam. read more

Stayed in this hotel one night (Wednesday) for a work meeting. I found it to be similar to many other Marriott's I've stayed at recently. The desk staff was very welcoming and friendly (even remembered my name a few hours later when I walked by!). The interior is updated, modern and smells really good! I don't know what the scent is but I've smelled it in other Marriott's as well. Very fresh and clean! My room was okay. It was a king sized bed but the room itself was small. I foam roll every night and had a tough time doing that in the limited space. The Marriott I stayed in Miami the week prior had a much bigger room. Bed was comfortable as were the sheets. No complaints there. Got breakfast (via the doortag) the morning I was there. I asked for it to come between 6:15 and 6:30. It got there at 6:16. Impressive! (Although I personally wish they'd start breakfast at 5a for early risers!). Gym was good. Lots of various equipment, much more than other hotels. The space was open and temps were good. I used the stationary bike (there is only one) but many more treadmills. The meeting room was good. I appreciated the temperature as it wasn't too hot or cold as we were facilitating. Lots of beverage options. Reason this place is 3 stars for me is because of the price (especially when taking into consideration the location). Room rate for one night was $362 (and that may have included a corporate discount!). This is located in a suburb area of Raleigh near a mall. It's not the coolest area. It's not walking distance to anything. All the nearby restaurants are chains. I MIGHT pay that price for a downtown hotel (again...even in Raleigh, that seems steep). Due to that, I would never personally pay out of pocket to stay here, so I'd not really recommend it. However, I would MAYBE come back here again if it were for work. However, my friend lives in Chapel Hill and she met me for dinner. She said this area is lame, so that doesn't sell me too much. lol read more

Thanks to the folks who run this place for a great experience. I was here for a week for work and this was an awesomely comfortable place to retreat at the end of the day. Pros: Well equipped gym - pretty sure I left more fit than when I came in, spending several hours on the elliptical here. The gym is clean Free internet TV (i.e. HBO Go! Woohoo can binge watch all the Euphoria and Insecure I'd like). Plenty of Lyft action lurking around the mall and surrounding businesses. Getting a ride from here was no biggie at all and typically prompt. Lots of Lyfts / ubers lurking around the area since the mall is right there as well. Walkable to the mall which has a ton of restaurants if you get sick of whatever is being served at the hotel restaurant itself. Not far from other leisure parts of Raleigh (i.e. near a movie theater as well although you'll need a drive there) Speaking of the Hotel Restaurant, it has been pretty great and I did probably half my meals there. Fridge for all your leftovers. Very clean in both the rooms and common areas. Spacious rooms -- a lounge chair and a loveseat in my basic room. Really polite and kind staff, especially the folks at the restaurant who knew my breakfast order by the end of the week. Quiet -- I hate the loud clanking of hotel room doors and I typically have trouble sleeping in hotels. Fortunately this place was nice and silent in the evenings, and the clientele is not loud. The noise from the bar downstairs is also well insulated from the rooms. Cons: Breakfast area is a bit confusing -- all breakfast orders are routed to the buffet (i.e. if you get the continental, it's up to you to know which items are covered under that order) on honor system. Pool is ok -- had some leaves in it, wasn't used much and didn't look the greatest but I didn't get a chance to use it anyways. read more

My overall experience at this hotel was 5 stars. The service from the front desk was warm, accommodating, and friendly at check in and check out. We received complimentary breakfast buffet tickets, compliments of the hotel for my husbands birthday. That was a nice and unexpected gesture. The buffet is valued at $16 a person, I believe. The rooms were very nice, clean, and modern. Housekeeping was in the hallways and they were very nice and each person spoke. Overall, the hotel just had a wonderful vibe and it sits right across from Crabtree Valley Mall, which you will find a variety of entertainment to choose from. I'd definitely return! So, I stayed for the night after a holiday party at a friend's house. Let me tell you about my visit. My room was 355 and it had a clogged drain in the bathtub, a dead battery in the smoke detector that kept beeping, and the carpet smelled like someone smoked in the room. I am normally a huge fan of marriott and am an Elite member with them, so I've seen all kinds of rooms. But, there was no excuse for this. The location is great for shopping and dining options. The parking lot is huge! And, the hotel is easy to find. Those are the positives. I would certainly stay here again, but not without a dramatic upgrade first. The front desk team are super nice and hospitable. I cannot wait to see their renovations they have planned. read more

The staff is great. The location pretty awesome. But can they please fix the Hotel entrance? I checked in at the desk, which by the way looks like they have valet, cause its far as hell from any of the parking, but they don't! You have to drive around back and look for the awning marked Hotel Entrance. Not my idea of convenient. The don't have automatic doors and you have two sets to go through. I really think they need to remodel/ reconfigure the whole lobby entrance and parking situation. The room is very standard for a Marriott. This is what hotel-ing is all about. The property is nice and extremely well maintained. The digital key software works and it's great to take advantage of when checking in late and just wanting to get some sleep. There was a fun group watching a football game in the bar area, food was available until 1:30a in this section and until 11 for in room dining. The fitness center was well stocked and smelled fresh and not sweaty. The room was comfortable and sizable. I typically opt for one king but the two queens were fine. Soft linens and nice pillows. A shower you could enjoy and plugs! Lots of plugs everywhere! This is key because overnight everything needs to charge via its own plug. The TV was easy to use and included a sleep timer. I would easily stay another night at this property. read more

Very nice rooms for a very fair price. The hotel is Newley remolded so it looks super fancy. Parking is free and easily accessible which is very nice. The staff were extremely helpful. The ballrooms are perfect for any type of event so I would highly recommend them. U can literally see the mall from the hotel lobby as they're right across the street. read more

I gave this hotel three stars because when we got to our room and laid her stuff on the bed I looked down on the duvet cover and discovered that there was blood on it!!! That kind of freaked me out I called down to the concierge to let them know that I have discovered blood on our duvet cover, they did send somebody right away to change the cover and sheets but it was totally unacceptable! Other than that the hotel was beautiful the outside is beautiful,fireplace outside, pool area is nice and inside is a bar and food and breakfast was delicious! read more

Stayed here overnight for a work meeting. Nice location directly across from a huge mall and plenty of restaurants! Outside the property looks older but inside it's been nicely remodeled. The lobby bar has EVERYTHING you could want to drink and is actually a bourbon bar if that's your thing. The lobby was very nicely decorated for the holidays as well. The rooms are surprisingly modern, being all white with blue accents. The bathroom with the rain head shower was legit, I think I took a 20 min shower just relaxing in there. The room had a smart fridge where you could adjust the temp and ample storage space. It's just off a busy road but I didn't hear any noise in the room at night. This is a beautiful location to stay when you visit the Raleigh/Durham area. It's located right across the street from the Crabtree mall which has PF Chang's, the Cheesecake Factory, North Face, etc. It's a descent mall for sure. The lobby is nicely decorated with a cool fire place for lounging with a beer or glass of wine. There's also a dope fire pit outside for chilling with friends. The rooms are nicely furnished & decorated. Ask for an upgrade to the 6th floor. Amazing‼ Lastly, when I travel I look for a good workout spot & the gym here is on point.
