Horrible service! I love benicia but going to Raleys is horrible. I ordered a sandwich from the deli department and the older lady Cyndie making the sandwiches was not only rude but made my sandwich with such a bad attitude. I felt like I was bothering her by ordering this $15 sandwich! She added so much mustard "just because I wrote it down" even when I told her to not add so much and insisted thats how it should be. I took the sandwiches to the registered and asked for the manager. I waited and the manager never showed up! I left with no sandwiches at the register as I refuse to pay for food that was intentionally done with poor quality and customer service. This is not the first time this worker treats people in a rude manner. She constantly yells at customers to fill out the paper for a sandwich order... their is so many ways to ask a customer to do this but being rude and yelling is not one... read more

This review is for the Raleys Bakery dept. We wanted to celebrate an anniversary with something sweet and Raleys delivered. The woman who helped us was great. Answered our questions and customized the cake to our liking. It's a little old fashioned these days to have a buttercream cake with roses but it has a nostalgic place in our heart. Inside, the cake was marble with chocolate buttercream. The cake was fresh, tasty and beautifully decorated. It was also ready on time and affordable while being totally custom made. I'm not from this area, nor have I ever used Yelp, but I was so incredibly grossed out by this supermarket I had to say something. The management was awful, rude and incredibly unprofessional. There were rats running through the outdoor area, and multiple different hummus and salsas in the refrigerated cases were expired by a WEEK. I am disgusted and will not be returning. I've also noticed how poorly you treat your employees. Do better. If I was able to give less than one star, I would. read more

I know grey on beef means it's aged, but the last few times I have bought a steak with ANY grey on it from this store the meat has been very sour after cooking it. I wasted my money on two USDA prime ribeyes that looked very red on display. Flipped them over and they are totally grey on the other side and sour when we ate them. Waste of money. read more

If I could give Raley's NO stars I would. I am no longer going to be a customer. Their store has relentlessly long lines, rarely has full shelves, the produce is now overwatered and way overpriced, the folks who used to work there have been replaced by and large by new people who are just not customer oriented. It's like being in a middle school classroom. I was in line the other day to check out and the bag helpers were throwing items at each other to mess around. "Did you see what she did?" asked the girl bagging up my groceries, about the projectile the other bagger person in the next lane tossed at her. Um. Yes? And I really like that you are all having a nice time, but I realllllly need to just get out of here before I lose my mind. I understand supply chains, economics, lack of supplies, covid, and all of it. But this market doesn't even look clean half the time now. I think my family is done. One bag of groceries for 50 bucks and most of it veggies is ridiculous. And the long lines? No. I see here the reviews for Raley's have plummeted. Is this store closing? First of all, don't be fooled by the photos in the Yelp site, definitely staged. Definitely lipstick on a pig. I've been a loyal Raley's customer for over 20 years. Since the turnover of management within the last 2-3 years, this store has deteriorated in customer service and selection availability. Customer Service First: Managers, please train your employees about customer service and professionalism. There are a bunch of younger employees working the check out stands who have no sense of these work ethics. They are too busy talking amongst themselves about their weekend plans or personal lives in the meantime your lines are halfway down the aisles. I'm not looking for any one of them to converse with me, but I do want them to focus and do their job efficiently so they can stop ringing me twice for my items or stop asking me if the green bunches are cilantro or parsley (every time)! Second: I am one that likes to help out and bag my groceries when the courtesy clerk is outside taking 45 minutes to grab the carts (or looking at their phone, or walking too slow because their oversized jeans are sagging halfway down their legs). I prefer to bag since the clerks end up putting my grapes and tomatoes underneath the heavy jars of pasta sauce. However, a simple "thank you for bagging" or acknowledgement would be nice since I'm already doing someone else's job. And since the two checkers are jaw jacking away, the line has already reached the end of the aisle by your milk so I'm also doing it for the poor customers who are waiting. Third: Stop pretending you are a Whole Foods. Not even close! You have taken away so many popular and commonly used selections to bring in the overpriced gourmet brands that when I need Kraft light mayonnaise, you don't have it so I have to pay 3x as much for some organic avocado and olive infused mayonnaise...WTF!! Fourth: Fix your self checkout stations! Every time "please remove items from the bagging area", at least 3-5 times when I'm using it! Then the light blinks and there's no one around to reset the stupid machine. Safeway may be smaller and less "pretty" than your store, but at least they always have what I'm looking for and I'm in and out in no time! read more

My review today will be the 5th in a row here with one star. The recent consensus is clear. RUDE! Everyone that works here is just a raging miserable person. I recently moved to this area but still get sent coupons for free items from my days elsewhere that I thought I should cash in with the amount of money I have spent over the years. But is it worth it to be treated like crap and walk out feeling absolutely awful for some free eggs? Not anymore! My past three visits have been unacceptable. I can't find the simplest of items, they just don't carry them apparently. After wasting my time roaming around and finally asking for help, I get stared at like a crazy person. It's like being in a foreign country and you don't speak the same language. And then after standing in another ridiculous long line (another thing that happens every single time), I gave a coupon that apparently didn't work and I was shamed about it in front of other customers like how stupid am I!? Maybe because everything here is overpriced to begin with, how dare I use a coupon, what am I? Poor?! Customer service or the manager will probably respond to this saying how sorry they are for my experiences but just listen to your customers taking the time to post these reviews. Clearly you need an overhaul on your procedures. Whatever makes your employees so bitter and hate their job is taking its toll on your company. It's usually very busy at this location and the lines are super long. I've entered Kenzie's line multiple times, and even though it's super busy and hectic, she always is so patient and kind! I meant to write this a while ago, time escaped me. In general, this is my favorite store to go to. Its clean and the staff are always friendly. But I wanted to give a shout out to one person in particular. Her name is Kennadi, I hope I got her name right. The second time I was there I had her write her name on a card, but I misplaced it. On two separate occasions, she has helped me with two different issues. She is always pleasant and so nice. She doesn't think twice about helping or answering any questions. We just moved out to Vallejo and I was looking for a Whole Foods or sprouts in the area. Unfortunately there aren't any in my area, the closest I can across is Raley's, which is similar in to sprouts. I really like it here, it's only about 10 mins from where I live. The staff here are really friendly, it's really nice and clean, also they have everything fully stocked. Because I've been to some grocery stores where they are out of mostly everything. I really enjoy coming and shopping here. This is now my go to and weekly grocery shopping spot. I am a frequent shopper at Raley's. read more

Rancid meat! I am a weekly shopper at the Raley's in Benicia with an average bill over $200.. Last Friday I purchased a rack of ribs that was rancid. So bad it stunk up my entire house. I understand it was abnormally hot, but if you can't ensure your meat can be safely stored before purchase the customer should not be negatively impacted. That was over $16 of meat that was thrown out. I hope you improve your storage safety. It makes me lose trust in purchasing meat from your store. read more

This is a very nice Raley's. Visually. Customer service is definitely not their priority. I've only been in this store a total of four times, with only one friendly interaction with employees. They are very rude. The last two times I've been there I have been snubbed and ignored both times by the same employee. Cathy is rude and does Not care about customer service. This Raleys refused to issue a rain check on an item that was on sale citing the reason was because the warehouse doesn't have the item in stock. Hmmmmm???? My understanding of a rain check is for that very reason, when a sale item is out of stock. Bad customer policy Raleys...... read more

I live in the city that has eight grocery stores within 10 minutes. I am new to Raleys and have been receiving coupons that I appreciate and try to use. Even though this is at least a 15 minute drive from my house I thought it would give it a try. Today I arrived on this Wednesday, 2/07/24 and I wanted to buy some tri-tips in the meat department when I went to the meat department, I stood in front of the service counter where you pick out a steak and they wrap it for you I was there for at least five minutes nobody showed up. I went over to the people at the sushi wrapping station and asked them if they could get somebody for me in the meat department. They ran a bell. I went and waited at least seven to maybe 10 minutes patiently nobody came. I saw the bell, and I rang it for about 10 seconds. Two meat department people came out, one look like a meat cutter and the other looked he was dressed like a wrapper. He did not have a meat cutting apron on and he had a real attitude like why am I ringing the bell, and I explain to him that I've been waiting for over 10 minutes and nobody's here. We rang the other bell. Nobody showed up now I rang it and you come up here with an attitude he didn't say hello. How are you? Nothing his customer service skills were an F . I asked him if he could pick me out a tri-tip out of the case a good one and all he did was pick the first one without even looking at it and I had three others from the case out front self service case, and I asked him if he could double wrap them all he just took them all doubled wrapped them. There was no acknowledgment. In our conversations I ask him. How's he doing today and try to have a conversation with him but he wasn't recognizing it or acknowledging it. He acted like I was a bother to him?? I went to the self, check out out front and ask for the store manager and the manager did not show up just a shift supervisor, I asked her if she was a manager she said yes I'm the manager at this time I explained the situation about the gentleman named Anthony I was a burden to him, asking him for assistance or service in the meat department in the area that is specifically for that as I explained the situation she never said anything just kind of shrugged your head as if this is not the first time dealing with him. I wasn't sure what was going to go on from there. She didn't say anything and walked away. I checked out and think the person oversee the self checkouts. It was 10 o'clock when I checked out what could be so important that a meat clerk could not help a customer buying about $60 worth of meat instead he showed unsatisfactory Customer service no appreciation no mannerism zero if I was the store manager I know the meat department is union and the store personnel are not. I would have a talk with the meat manager, because obviously they don't appreciate people coming in spending money and basically providing them a job where they get paid weekly. This gentleman Anthony's customer service skills were an F there's no excuse for it.! at this point I'm not sure if I'll ever return. I got terrible service from this gentleman. Anthony and the man are in charge or key carrier really didn't say much to me at all. She just shook nodded her head, and I believe went back to the meat department, so I have no idea about the outcome whatsoever. I have never shopped at Raley's (or any other of their stores) until I moved to Vallejo. The quality of their produce and food is always excellent. I have never had any issues with anything here. I LOVE that they have delivery and pick-up at this location. I sometimes find myself not wanting to go grocery shopping, so I end up just placing an order online and having it delivered to my place. The driver's are always friendly and on time. If they are running late, I always get a notification from them. If they run out of something I want, they are quick to send a text and ask if they can get an alternative for me. I now only shop at Raley's for all my groceries. It is worth the small drive to Benicia. Oh, forgot to mention. Their Bakery is THE BEST! Best cakes I have ever had! I love how they are not sweet, but are very tasty. They definitely put TLC in their baked goods. read more

There are more checkers working the front so you have options for checking out, and the lines are much shorter with registers open as well as self check out. Customer service is definitely improved. This is review of the bakery. The woman behind the counter barked directions to me when I told her I would like to order a sandwich. The wait time, at least 10 minutes. When I picked them up, the barking woman began to argue with me when she got the order wrong. I just took the sandwiches she abandoned on the counter. I had groceries delivered thru their e-cart program for the past 3 years. However, they have changed their system. Now, the substitution options are limited, shoppers don't read notes, and calling your personal shopper (as suggested) elicits a rude or, at the very least unhelpful response. For instance, when calling 2.5 hours before the earliest scheduled delivery time you are told "It's too late, the shopping for your order has been completed". I have gone back to Safeway. There are far less unavailable or out of stock items, delivery costs significantly less, and since Safeway doesn't outsource delivery there is no additional tip fee. I pay $3.95 for delivery from Safeway and $11.95 + tip for delivery from Raleys. That's too much difference to put up with so many out of stock items and rude or just unresponsive shoppers. read more

Wow I have not been in here since they remodeled and I love the new look and layout of the store. Everything is so open and spacious!! I like the high ceilings, the lights and how spacious the aisles are. Being a visually impaired person that uses a cane I truly enjoyed my time in this grocery store especially since I was able to get around on my own without holding on to my husband for once. I really appreciate that there were no items in the middle of aisles blocking me or that I walked into. That was the best part of my traveling the store. I have been shopping at Raley's Benicia since 1990. Yesterday I had the worst customer experience there I've ever had. As I approached register number 10 at approximately 3:40 PM, the cashier was Andy. I said hello and received no response. Another staff member, Charles, walked up and they started having a personal conversation. As Andy rang up my groceries, I bagged them. He had finished ringing them up while I was loading them into my cart and he just stood there and did not assist. I inserted my credit card and the only thing he said was "did not go through". I tried again and it went through successfully. He handed me my receipt without saying a word. I typically do not post complaints but Andy was so rude I felt it appropriate in this instance. So, if I'm disregarding the deli portion of this store, I'd give it a good 5 stars. BUT, unfortunately you cant ignore how terrible the service and blatant ATTITUDE you get if you need anything from them. Tonight (3/11) I went in to order a sandwich; deli was open, nothing was put away and yet two employees sat there and complained that they cant get anything done because they kept getting interrupted. I just stared in awe while the lady making sandwiches whined and gave attitude when I asked what kind of Turkey they had. I've never had someone roll their eyes for such an innocent question. There were two types of Turkey, but she didn't even look up to check and just said "brown" while she continued to lazily slap my sandwich together. The second lady was helping an elderly man with mobility issues, she gave him his deli meat and huffed and puffed about it. As I went to check out, I know the cashier heard me talking about both women to my boyfriend. She politely told me to have a good night then decided to ask if I was tired....ummm, no? But thanks! While the deli divas soured me, I can at least appreciate Lori's attempt at rectifying the service I had. Increasingly erratic availability (Cepacol just got back in stock last week after two months of not being there) of things that are fairly basic, and not particularly exotic at all. There's also that the last time I bought eggs here which will be the last time I bought eggs here, nearly a third of the brown shell cage-free eggs (because those were cheapest and they were all really expensive) had mold on the inside and were totally unusable because I couldn't trust which ones were good and which ones weren't. Please improve. I don't like Safeway downtown at all and I've shopped with you since you came into existence. You used to be convenient. read more

However, this past year, the quality of food has gone downhill while prices increase and the staff, primarily in the deli area, has been consistently rude. The last time I bought some food in the deli area, the attendant practically threw it at me and the past 2 weeks, when I go to the deli area, it has been closed even though it should have been open.
