This cute little bar/pub is all you need for a good solid drink and some easy bites. My friend and I came here for the 1st time a week ago and were served by bartender Hailey. Unbeknownst to us it was her bday celebration and it was dealer's choice meaning you could tell her your favorite type of drink and she would make something good for you. I usually go with Tequila and my drink was amazing! We both ordered the HH hot dogs and they were tasty as well. The service was spot on. We had a seat outside and even though we were seated outside we still had plenty of folks check in on us and get us what we needed. I would definitely come back for another drink and pizza next time! Second time in here with my partner and the same crew including a baby in a stroller. Both times we sat way in the back. Really nice place. Food menu is totally better than adequate and the drinks are great. We had a variety of eats and all were great. I like pizza but don't eat a lot cause of the carbs but I make an exception here. Staff is more than accommodating, espicially since we had a stroller and a little one. Up front the space is wider and there are a couple tables as you walk in. The rest is a long bar with a narrow isle and tables against the wall. The whole layout reminds me of many of the establishments we frequented in Serbia. We popped into Brix & Craft with friends for a bite and a drink on Saturday night, and had a baby in a stroller along with the crew. We didn't want to sit at the tables by the door, it was chilly, so we moseyed on down the bar and kind of set up shop alongside the bar and at a couple of seats by the wall. The staff never asked us to move, and were nothing but accommodating, which I very much appreciate. We ordered some drinks, and a pizza, chicken wings, and brussels sprouts to share. The house margarita was $7, I believe, super reasonable. The bartender made a couple of extras by accident (wink wink) which we happily accepted. For the pizza, we went with the Napoleon, half with meat, half meat-free. Everyone agreed the brussels sprouts would have been better on their own without the tempura batter. Overall, the food was totally adequate for bar food. The staff was nice and totally accommodating to our group. Would return and recommend this Martinez spot when in the area. read more

I'm writing this review to shed some light on the issues I witnessed so hopefully management can fix the issues. The bartenders are very sweet and make delicious cocktails. The pizza was good but came different from the pizza we ordered. There is no communication between the kitchen and the bar. This creates a weird atmosphere. Are bartender knew we wanted dessert. When they went to put in the order the kitchen decided to close early and not tell anyone. If I was the owner I would be livid. Not only did we then decide to cancel are other drink order and leave, several other people decided to leave as well. The bartenders and staff lost a lot of money. Closing the kitchen early on a Friday with a bar full of people and people still coming in makes no sense. Also why not tell staff and have them put in final food orders. The drinks are good but the drinks are good at places that have their act together. I don't see myself ever going back. read more

Loved stumbling upon this cool, cozy, crafty bar/eatery! Popped in for a bite with a friend and we shared a flatbread and pizza, with a couple slices to spare. I forgot the name of the flatbread but it had brie cheese, pear, bacon, balsamic, onions - it was creamy & sweet. The PO pizza was loaded with meats & a balsamic drizzle, more on the savory side compared to the flatbread. They were both delicious. The bartender was super cool and friendly. This is hands down the highest quality cocktail bar in Martinez. This place has an expansive selection of spirits and talented bartenders who can create personalized drinks depending on a customers tastes. Everything here seems precise. The place is branded as a craft cocktail house and they are just that. It's nice to have somewhere local that can fulfill that itch. Tonight I had a simple smoked old fashioned with blackstrap bitters and a salted caramel espresso martini. They were both delicious. If you at all enjoy espresso martinis they have a quietly listed selection of multiple riffs and if the others are as good as the one I tried, then they are listed much too quietly. Please try them for me. I also tried one of their pizzas. It was a breaded chicken parm pizza with basil and olive oil. It was one of the best pizzas I've had in Martinez. I really like the place. The long bar had plenty of space for me to walk through and the bathroom was clean. The only slight complaint I can come up with is that they didn't have clear ice, but I'm just personally a sucker for clear ice in cocktails. I get it isn't that easy. The drinks are good. The food, 'eh'. But there is a Zombie shop two doors down. Go grab a Zombie or two, bring them back to sit outside and enjoy a beer. The ambience is a 'dark bar' with an upscale twist. It's a little cramped; I preferred sitting outside. The bathrooms are huge and clean. I always check out the bathroom of a restaurant; it tells you everything you need to know about the kitchen. Trust me. In another life and place, I was a line cook and server, and I cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen. I liked the lady bartender - she was fun to speak with and explained her philosophy of drink creation. We talked a little about the pharmaceutical beginnings of cocktails - herbs, digestifs, and cures. Came here for a friend's birthday celebration. It's a very small bar that serves pizza and small bites. I didn't eat much, but I did try a slice of pizza and it had a nice thin crust and good cheese to meat ratio. For drinks, I tried the espresso martini, which was OK and then some beer. I met Corey the owner and was impressed with his passion for his city and his business. Corey runs one of the best spots in Martinez, he is the unofficial mayor and knows EVERYONE lol. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly it has a great location right on Main Street, making it perfect for a casual night out or a weekend/Sunday watching the game with friends. Absolutely outstanding service and delicious craft cocktails!!! Let me first say - I have never reviewed anything on Yelp. But I had such an amazing time last night It would feel criminal not to share. This place had a killer vibe - with a bar that stretched the whole length of the narrow room and a huge wall of spirts with an incredible selection. My bartender was totally attentive (and hot!) and took care of me the whole night. Even though every seat was filled in the whole place she was on top of it. I never had to sit there with an empty glass because she was checking on me before I finished each drink. Mixology was on point! She was riffing on a lemon drop making this delicious creation she called a Lemon Meringue pie. Don't know what she did but the drink had this silky foam head that smelled and tasted JUST LIKE LEMON MERINGUE PIE! The owner was super cool and served me one of their signature pizzas called the PO and I crushed this thing. Run don't walk. 10/10 will definitely be back. read more

The issue with the four featured cocktails we tried is that the spirit in each was overshadowed by the other ingredients. A proper cocktail should have its non-spirit ingredients complement the spirit. Our drinks were created by people who pretended to understand mixology but weren't real bartenders. This is evinced by the bar staff on tonight, a Friday night, not being able to find the correct glassware, having to 360 twice to find all of the ingredients for each cocktail, not understanding where each bourbon is located on their wall, and never smiling once for any customer in the restaurant over a period of two hours, let alone attempt an ounce of conversation. We tried our best to enjoy ourselves but found it nearly impossible as the staff was clearly overheated and uninterested by an average workload where real bartenders and customers they serve should have been having an awesome Friday night. Pizza was good. As I posted my review above, I immediately saw the below auto-response from the owner assuming the female bartender was the problem. She was, but so were the male bartenders, and an owner who would set an auto response for a Yelp review before even reading it is exactly the issue that starts from the top and is described above. This is what happens when you probably want to own a bar rather than running a good bar. read more

Came here for the first time on my birthday last Friday. Decided to have dinner here after seeing the delicious looking pizzas. Had a pizza with brie cheese, arugula, apple and balsamic drizzle and it was delicious. One pizza was enough to share between my boyfriend and I, and still had leftovers. My boyfriend tried the rotating sour beer they had on tap. I had their house cava and their award-winning cocktail. Can't remember the name but it was spicy and had a tajin & salt rim and was delightful. We sat outside where we listened to live music and enjoyed the sunset. We ordered the following: - The Pink Dragon - Lost Thyme (my favorite) - Ocean Breeze (very NEW and a must try!) - Soccer Mom Bomb - Red Headed Sour - Mules Each drink was very well done. We ordered a few rounds of each. The mixologist, Hailey, would often check in with us and I asked her to surprise me with a cocktail with a bourbon base. She whipped up a drink that quickly turned into the favorite of the evening for the whole table. It had a black cherry flavor to it and was well balanced. Beyond the cocktails, DO NOT MISS OUT ON THE PIZZAS! Corey serves up an impressive menu of artisan pizzas. Between our party, we had the following: - Margherita Pizza x2 - Tuscan Pizza x2 - The Contract These were piping hot and straight from the oven. Be careful when you channel your "One Bite Everyone Knows The Rule" impression as straight from the oven means just that. These were so good that I plan on returning soon to order some pies to-go. I wish I had photos to share so I'll be sure to do so next round. The location is easily accessible in downtown, be mindful of the "No Parking" signs and grab a spot around the corner where it's metered and available. Cozy atmosphere, great wine, and hands down some of the best pizza in the East Bay. While they don't have a vegan pizza on the menu, they'll make one if you bring your own cheese--which is absolutely worth the grocery store stop and a few extra bucks. Corey is always welcoming and accommodating, even keeping a specific wine in stock because he knows my husband and I love it.
