We took our kids here on a winter break, gray day and it was a lot of fun. First off, there's a mini aquarium when you walk in -- it's nothing to write home about, but it gets the kids attention and they realize right away this is a fun store. From there, you can't miss the gigantic ferris wheel in the middle of the store. Gonna be real, it's fun and worth the wait but also a bit nerve wracking. Something is just odd about quietly swaying at the top of a department store quietly for such a long time. My daughter was like, "Dad, I'm scared to look down!" and all I could think was, "so am I, kid, so am I." We both agreed it's pretty fun once it gets going. There's also a little bowling area where you get five frames for a buck, and ditto to a little arcade game area as well. There's toy stores, outdoor goods, quality brands of clothes and outfitting, and really a nice answer to online shopping. In fact, it feels like malls used to feel in the 90's but a modern spin on everything. We did eat here but I'd say skip it. I didn't find anything I wanted and when I went to finish off my kids chicken tenders I was super underwhelmed and ended up pitching them. I will say at this time they carry Sylas & Maddy's ice cream (best IC in the city IMO) so that was a nice surprise treat. What more could you want if out shopping with the kids?! It's a great spot to kill a quiet afternoon.

On my most recent visit, however, I was dismayed to see MAGA hats on the shelf, and the owner walking around with a big Trump patch sewn to his vest. For a store that claims to support the police and military--who serve everyone equally--Mickey's sure has a funny way of showing it. Sorry, Mickey's, but I have many LGBTQ+ friends, as well as friends who aren't yet US Citizens. I also speak Spanish and have a vested interest in treating everyone kindly. Apparently you don't.

I walked into a skateboard paradise. The entire front area is apparel. Every brand of skateboard shirt, jacket, some jeans, and female clothing, too. Sunglasses, watches. Whatever. Think Loma Vista Hardware in bright in your face colors. The back of the store is a wall of skateboards decks, and a few wide boards. Impressive display, Enjoi, Habitat, Baker, Element, CCS, Alien Workshop, Toy Machine, Girl, Plan B. I saw a Rob Dyrdek Deck I would've bought for my son, if he'd needed one. (We go through a deck about once a year). then at the counter is the hardware, and wheels. All sizes. Several brands of hardware. It'd be a kick ass place to work. Heck, I'd like to work there, myself. When I go back to Oak Park Mall, I saw a female Famous Stars and Straps shirt I want. But instead of mail ordering it, I can drive and get it, along with my son';s clothes. (Almost every shirt he owns was bought at CCS mail order.) The store has a sampling of what's on the website, and a full selection of decks. I imagine if you watch the website, there will be demos there. And know what? I love to watch skateboarding demos. I've seen professional skateboarders and CCS is one of the larger sponsors. I'm thrilled to be writing this review.

I believe everything in here comes from Dick's Sporting Goods, but Dick's isn't known for great pricing. I haven't been there in a hundred years it feels like, and the last time I was in one I left - per usual - empty handed. Hardest part of retail is getting the customer through the door. GOTTA CONVERT! Not me. Never convert me. Gotta have those deals on deals on deals... Maybe I'm cheap? Maybe I'm smart? Whatever. My wife got a pair of shorts, Columbia, for $8. We also got some Chief's gear for $7. But it's mostly a sad Nordstrom Rack. 80% of this place is clothes, the other 15% is Shoes...and the remaining 5% is sporting junk. It reminded me of Sears Outlet, or any of those sad places you shop when you were tiny and poor: Flourescent lighting; Too much floor; HOSPITAL TILES; Carpet stolen from 1988 Macy's. I don't know, felt like a really nice thrift store. I hated it. Put up better signs, clearly convert me on the true price of things, maybe label each thing. I saw full retail tags everywhere and just left. My wife thought there might have been 8x11 paper tags on the end of isles, but the kids running this place could honestly care less, so there's that. The interior of the store is a ton bigger than the old space. There's actually room now and you can move without bumping into something. I found the Royals section easily but they also have Chiefs, KSU, KU, Current, Sporting KC, and just Kansas stuff in general. I've always found the value to be good. They do offer Nike and other name brands so it's not cheap but the quality holds up. Service was friendly and efficient. I purchased a Royals shirt and a fun little Royals children's book for my nephew. He'll be ready for the Royals opening day and we can prevent a future cardinals fan! Go Royals!

My advice would be that if you are a SCRATCH GOLFER, stay away from this place. The individual who assisted me was fair at best and was very unprofessional since the session only went about 15 minutes, and I was quickly rushed out of the store. Makes you feel that part of their salary is COMMISSION BASED, and if you are not there to get new clubs, upgrades, etc, they will rush you out as quickly as they can. With that being said, I purchased a FULL SET of GEN-6 clubs last year through PXG Headquarters and only got one round out of them prior to my hip replacement surgery last June. The only thing that is saving me from switching to another brand, would be my military discount with PXG. And if the young lady would have taken her time and been more professional, I would have purchased the new BLACK OPS driver using the fitting specs from my fitting session.
