Stopped in at Rally King. The staff was welcoming and they have plenty of seating, even some outside. Because it is in a strip of storefronts, there is plenty of parking. We snagged a flight and settled in at the bar to taste. Lots of big citrusy flavor going on here. I am a coffee girl and there was an espresso stout on at the time. I could not pass that up. It was all that I hoped for in the moment. Their Citralicious IPA was juicy and as if you had a glass of fruit juice on a sunny brunch morning. Heffy was their Hefeweizen, solid and to style. Seriously Juicy IPA had a haze you could cut with a knife. Some folks aren't fans of the haze, but I welcome all IPAs. We will pop in again, I am sure. read more

There's something special about a friend taking you to their favorite brewery, especially when it's lesser-known than somewhere like Odell. In fact, we went to Odell first then came here, and I appreciated the more laidback, family-owned vibe at Rally King. I was sold by all the creative, juicy flavors on tap, ultimately going with the grapefruit IPA. Loved the bitterness and the fact that it wasn't too fruity or sweet. There's a good amount of beer options, whether you like stouts or sours or just want to try something new and different. Plenty of seating inside. Plenty of parking in this strip mall. They're dog friendly, which I think every brewery should be. Great customer service, clean facilities, availability of restrooms... Very much enjoying Rally King's Bloody Good beer! Honestly more of a light beer dude but this sour flips the script 1 it is delicious and matches all the vibes on the can! Only 4 stars because we did not enjoy the Indian pale ale as much but honestly more of personal preference I'd recommend trying the varieties for yourself because the bloody Good is an absolute killer beverage! read more

I stopped her for the first time after being encouraged by one of the brewers. The parking is somewhat limited being in the small shopping area, but I didn't have any trouble finding a spot on a Sunday afternoon. The brewery is fairly small inside and they have a few tables outside as well. The beer list is quite long given the size of the place. I tried the "flagship" Surfer Girl IPA and my wife had the Illegal Lemonade Stand (sour). The Surfer Girl was pretty good, and while not the typical west coast style flavor I prefer, it was done very well. My wife did not like the sour, but I've heard that most people do enjoy the Illegal Lemonade Stand. I'd come back and try something again, but will probably come with a friend since my wife isn't a fan. It's probably mostly a neighborhood brewery, since it isn't large enough to take a bigger group. Brand New Brewery in Fort Collins and It is a Contenter Right Out of the Chute!! Jason and Matt have a 7 barrel system with 6 beers on tap including an IPA, Lager, English Mild, Dry Stout (ok that's 4 of 6 don't remember the other 2); plus 3 of the beers are also offered on Nitro!!! The tap room is gorgeous, the staff friendly and the place has a chill vibe, especially nice with an intimate outdoor seating area to catch some rays!! The East side needed something like this and their location on the corner of Lemay and Prospect is easy to find. Definitely check them out...you won't be disappointed! read more

The most stupid policy ever. I go into Rally Kings with their growler bottle to buy a limited edition refill. I am told, no soup for you, we must save the limited edition for other customers who want to buy a glass. We only make 6 gallons at a time and your growler might empty us. So your saying my $30 for a growler and a repeat customer is just no good in your brewery waiting for the next guy to order a $6 glass? Are you kidding? News flash, with only 6 gallons, yes you are goning to run out, so who cares if it is with my growler or the next few customers? Make more then. Not my problem. Rally King was a brewery that opened since my last visit to Fort Collins. Prior to my visit here we went to a very nice series of breweries around town. At one point we were asked what breweries we have been to and what other ones we were planning to go to. I said that Rally King was in the cards. We were told that they went through a restructuring of management which could or could not have been related to the quality of beer that they were brewing and that potentially their products were better... we didn't ask for more specifics but wanted to try this brewery anyway simply to be completist in our quest to try all of the new breweries that opened in Fort Collins since the last visit. At Rally King I had their Old No. 7 Pale Ale. In the description it is said that the pale ale had bready notes with a dry finish. There was indeed a dry finish but the breadiness which I usually really like seemed pretty weak and not entirely provided the delivery that I was hoping for. If the quality of the beer was not in good shape before then... well it doesn't bode well. The service was decent, not quite as friendly as some of the other breweries that we visited in Fort Collins. Overall it was all just a so so experience. read more

Simply put, Rally King's Citrilicious is a revelation. It's the most remarkable new beer I've had in at least a year. For those of you who are familiar with the Grapefruit Sculpin, the Citrilicious is what that beer used to taste like before Ballast Point decided to scale production up. And it's probably even better, although it's impossible to do a side-by-side! I also sampled a number of other unique and tasty beers including a raspberry brown and a Red XPA. Not a bad beer in the bunch. In terms of ambiance, this place has a nice west-facing, covered outdoor patio to enjoy the afternoon sun, and Matt, the co-owner is a super-nice guy and provided us with way over-the-top service. Such a fun little brewery! Has usb outlets and wifi, which is nice for those of us connected to our phones. Bartender was super friendly and more than willing to talk about the beers and answer questions. Loved the sour beer made with local yogurt, and the raspberry dark beer is delicious. I never leave reviews... but Rally King has got to be one of the top 3 breweries in Colorado. If you haven't tried them, you MUST. Breweries of this quality really need to stick around for the long run. They are friendly, offer tastes, have a great location, and most important of all, have awesome beers. I haven't found a single uninteresting one yet. In fact, I might go so far as to say the majority of their beers are inspired, or if we personify them, make other beers of the same style jealous. Their grapefruit IPA is what sculpin wishes it would be. Their English pale ale (Old No 7) is what the English were aiming for when they imagined an ideal ale. Their blood orange IPA is beautiful in color, refreshing, and at the same time has managed to stand out in a beer style that is crowded with good contenders. Their dark sour has all the fruity smokiness of a cigar, without leaving your mouth and clothes smelling like smoke. Go check them out. First and foremost - they allow dogs inside!! So I was already in a great mood being there. On top of that, the beer was delicious and pretty cheap. The staff was super friendly, and even all of the other customers seemed to be in a great mood. I didn't play any, but they did have a great selection of board games which I always think is a great addition to a brewery. We have been out to CO a couple of times and have visited about 18 breweries this last visit. This by far is my favorite. Super nice staff who enjoy talking about the product. I particularly LOVED the Lemon radler . Only complaint, they Did not have a t-shirt in my size (women's medium). We travel a lot in the name if "beer research" and I get a t-shirt at my favorite microbrew each city. I'll have to go back or hopefully they will sell them online. We are visiting from Phoenix, and being beer geeks, want to visit all Fort Collin's breweries in the month we are here. This place has a nice layout with plenty of space inside and a nice patio outside. We thought we'd do lunch, but a very limited menu, so just beers this afternoon. We tried the Citralicious IPA and the Surfer Girl IPA, two of their regulars. Both were excellent. The person behind the bar also let me sample their Blood Orange IPA, Shark Attack, a limited brew, and I wish I'd ordered that! Oh well, lesson learned. Sample first. I was really hoping for more. When my wife and i walked in we were "greeted" by 2 very awekward people. We both ordered a few samples and they were mixed together on the same sample tray with no labeling if whose was what. Then the beer itself was very "homebrew"-like. Which isnt always bad, i brew myself so i enjoy that, but not when im at a brewery do i want beer that i wouldnt be proud to pour at home. The beer didnt have any flavor, the IPA was more like a real basic lager, and overall the beer just wasnt that great. Between sub par beer, in a town of very high quality beer, and the really awekward servers and the strange looks and feeling of not belonging from the other patrons, i would not be going back. Sorry i am not part of the brew club. Its a shame because we live close and i was hoping for more after all the build up i read about the brewer.
