My wife and I have made visiting breweries on vacation a thing we do...so of course, on our first trip to Berthoud, we had to try out the local taps! Berthoud Brewing is a smaller venue with a nice patio, and a limited number of taps...not surprising for a smaller brewery, and keeps the decision fatigue at a minimum. We did a flight of their 5 beers, and while only one of them really hit the spot for me, any craft beer nerd (like us!) would enjoy stopping by for a flight! Friendly service, friendly patrons...all in all, definitely a place we would visit again! Craft beer is about experiences, and Colorado is rife with micro and nano breweries. It was cool seeing Berthoud gaining a new brewery! I believe that there is a second one on the main drag through downtown as well. Berthoud Brewing Company is on the west side of town. Berthoud isn't a very big place and it it's nice to come to breweries like this where it is quiet and not a whole lot of noise. Upon our visit at Berthoud Brewing we tried two different beers. I had the Forged Stout which proved to be excellent! There is a semi-sweet chocolate taste to it with hints of citrus. The complexity of the beer proved to be very enjoyable! Really a delicious beer there! Steve got the 1888 Blonde Ale which is an easy to drink beer with hints of Magnum and Citra hops which also proved to be a highly enjoyable beer. The service here was extremely friendly and we got served in an efficient manner. Definitely and enjoyable place if you are passing through town and want to relax for a bit! read more

The selection of beers is overwhelming so I ended up with a flight. The yeast they use makes the beer seem sour which some people might like. The menu looked great but not being too hungry an order of delicious wings was had. There is ample parking and the outdoor seating is extensive and funky though you'll probably have to go in and order as it only looked like they were bussing out door tables and not taking orders. read more

Another disappointing response to covid, this business just doesn't seem to care. No masks were being worn by staff so I decided to buy a 6 pack and growler to go instead of sitting inside. The beer was actually great so that's why they get 2 stars. I rode my bike up Hwy 287 from Hwy 66 and Main: ANY beer was welcome, but from my flight, I thought 8th St. Amber, had the least gap between reality and rhetoric: range-amber; rich malt and caramel aroma with matching flavor. Light body with clean, refreshing aftertaste: Alc. 4.4% // IBUs 28. Bartender was friendly, and the small indoors of place was not crowded , with the typical Chicago-land-Beer-Swilling Tourist Hoard one finds in Longmont to the south. They offer free pretzels, which was a nice enough touch for me to add an extra star. read more

One visit, but have been to many breweries, so I've got some context. First, bartender was fantastic. She was friendly, helpful, and not at all out off that the three of us wanted to sample several beers before making a choice. A good brewery let's you do that....she was, simply put, lovely. Now for the beer...I thought they were all very good. Great variety, which is consistent with a good brewery, and each one was flavorful and enjoyable. If you like beer, you'll find a pint, or several, you'll like. The venue, really cool. It's small, but wasn't too crowded while there. Say outside since there was a duet playing that night, and it was comfortable and nice. The music was also really good. I can't wait to come back. read more

The staff was super short with us I mentioned it was my first time there and they were not pleased that I asked for TWO samples. The owner asks us to move our car for a free round because they were having a car show then charged us for the beer. Some one connected to the brewery' made a derogatory comment against Latinos so I will never go back! read more

This is one of my favorite breweries in Loveland! The beers are great and the staff is amazing! Oh and the pizza is so good!

I have a thing for Scotch ales, and this place brews one that I really like. They also have a barrel-aged version that is awesome. Luckily, I live in south Loveland, so getting to Berthoud is a piece of cake. The taproom is small but patio seating is available; service is friendly and attentive. I can see this becoming one of our favorite beer joints. read more

We love this little brewery. The beers are fantastic. The ambiance is great. They have live music on the weekends and some games you can play. Nice outside patio and the inside opens up with large doors out to the patio so even when sitting inside you can get an outside feel. The bartender is always friendly. The first time I went to Berthoud brewing, one of the owners was minding the bar. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. He allowed my husband and I to sample a few beers before making a decision on which to purchase. My husband ended up getting their Scottish ale and I had the nitro stout. We both were pleased with our selections. The second time we went, my husband purchased the nitro stout because it was so good before. Yet, it was disappointing this time around. It was flat and the flavor was off. I chose the American IPA which I enjoyed for about half a pint. The expected bitterness seemed to eventually saturate my taste buds to the point that I couldn't enjoy the other flavors. The atmosphere and decor are quite wonderful as others have commented on. I love the barn/farm equipment / railroad feel. Overall, I am looking forward to my next visit. There are many beers on the menu I would like to try. Also, I'm hoping the experience with the stout was a fluke. I love my stout and it will be the make it or break it for me. read more

Good atmosphere and nice tap room. I've been a few times, and have never been overly impressed by the beer. Seems a little flat and lacks some flavor. There are definitely some that are better than others, but for the most part the beer is the main reason I wouldn't rate this place higher. There are also consistency issues. I've ordered the same beer on different occasions and gotten something that tasted pretty different, and not in a good way. It's definitely not a bad place to hang out and grab a beer, but I would say their local neighbors (City Star Brewing) are far superior. read more

The male bartender on Saturday was far less pleasant then the regular female staff that works. Like the beer come here a lot but def won't come when he the bar tender. Great atmosphere & incredibly friendly staff make Berthoud Brewing my low key Friday night choice. They make the evening more lively with a Firkin tapping each Friday. This adds variety & is really fun to watch. City Star is great for live music, but Berthoud Brewing has a more intimate atmosphere for conversation. read more

My wife and I just moved here to Berthoud. We decided to go to Berthoud Brewing Company for a beer and some food. When we got there there was in food truck, Edge food truck, which was amazing. The food truck was $20 for a three-course meal which included brussel sprouts with some sort of shaved cheese on it and in arugula salad with a pork belly with some sort of reduction, as well as some awesome dessert. I wish I remembered all of the details of the food so I can give it on this review but the beer at the Berthoud Brewing Company was also very delicious so I had quite a few of them. The environment of Berthoud Brewing Company was very welcoming, felt very comfortable, where my wife and I can sit and have a few drinks and the food truck food. read more

This is a great small brewery in Berthoud. They have a good selection of different style beers and friendly staff and patrons. I enjoy the new IPA beers they have recently released.
