Second time here. Solid beers. We popped in mid Friday afternoon before the weekend rush. I enjoyed at Savage Stout on nitro. I love the dark beers. This was an easy drinker at 4.3% ABV. My husband had The Wedge west coast IPA. Delicious. There is inside and outside seating. A food truck was setting up when we arrived. The staff is welcoming and made great recommendations. read more

Salt Road Brewery was yet another Fort Collins brewery that I never visited before while on my last trip there. It's tucked in an alleyway which wasn't much of anything when I lived in Fort Collins but now small businesses are starting to emerge from it. I had two beers from this brewery and I can really appreciate their more unique slant with the beer types that they make here which makes it for intriguing beer tasting. The first beer I has was Pain in the Spelt. It's categorized as a more historical beer as it was a beer form that was popular at one time but not necessarily now. It was very good. I liked the herbal highlights to the flavor... I have a thing for herbal beers anyway. It also is malty and bready in flavor which is nice. Very sessionable as well... a kind of beer you can sip on all day long. The other beer I had was the Black Gold. It was a Dark Lager with flavor elements of coffee, bready, malty, roasty and toasty flavors. This was a very well made beer as well. Definitely enjoyable beers at Salt Road and on my last trip back some good breweries right in the heart of downtown Fort Collins that sprung up which makes it walkable to get to them and an overall improvement in getting good beer in a close sector of Fort Collins without constantly relying on your car. read more

Tucked away brewery just off the Main area of old town, down the alley. Absolute stunning ambiance and even better beer. I spoke with Scott the owner and head brewer, his passion for his work made my love for the brewery that much more. I was traveling by myself and Scott and Zach made me feel extremely welcome. They are knowledgeable and extremely personable. Bathrooms are clean and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I went back for a second time the following day and they had live music and games. Went here on 9/22/23. It's off the beaten path from Old Town Fort Collins. Good size inside abs patio. Bartender was very friendly the day we went. Fun atmosphere. We tried the peach saison, marzen and historic beer. All were really good. Seems like they have beer from light to dark. Very fun place. Cheers! read more

Great beer and space for older kids and parents, alike! We enjoyed our tasting and playing games.

Tonight we sat at the bar and were handed a menu. They were busy. After a while with no service we asked if we could order from the bar or if we needed to wait in line from the ordering area, and the bartender(?) told us it would probably be better if we ordered from the area where you stand in line. We are literally sitting at the bar where they handed us the menu. No thanks! This is the second time we have tried this place. The first time, the beer sucked. We wanted to try again. F that! Owner is super weird and cringe. Third time we've been, always on a Thursday. Usually calm and casual, good background music, had a great atmosphere, garage doors open to the outside. Happy people stopping in for a brew and conversation. Bar staff were nice. This past Thursday was.....different . Game was on TV, a few groups in watching later on. Then....the TV started to get louder and louder (why?) Soon we were screaming at each other across the table just to hear one another lol. Next (though it was dark out due to heavy thunderstorms) they dimmed the lights....and kept dimming them, and dimming and dimming lol..... At about 7:30/8 we were using our flashlights on our phones to finish the boardgame. A few of us had asked them over this time to put the lights back on (seriously anyone walking by would have thought they were closed)....they were rude and dismissive; one of the bartenders (F, dark hair) and the OWNER. Owner told one of the guys "I don't want you here". What the actual 1. We are a group of people that enjoy Boardgames & Brews! About 1/2 of us drink beer, other half into food and other beverages (we don't push anyone to drink because that's a bit salty - it's casual.) We've asked several times if the Brewery had other non-beer beverages available for purchase (they don't). 2. We had called first and asked Salt Road if they would be interested in our group (giving them details of approx numbers) coming in on some Thursdays to play boardgames. They told us a definite yes. 3. Thursdays are pretty much dead in Salt Road. It's not like we are taking up tables that would otherwise be used. There are other tables free and a large bar. So....Salt Road owner? super cringe. Super. YIKES!! read more

We live outside of Greeley and have been to Salt Road Brewing a few times since it opened. We haven't gone to breweries much before so Salt Road has been our first real experience. Tonight we decided to try another brewery in Greeley. First off, the Greeley brewery doesn't give you a back story and description of each beer like Salt Road does. Just a name of the beer and the alcohol content. We love knowing the creative thought that goes into creating them. And the majority of the Other brewery's large menu was IPAs whereas Salt Road has a smaller but diverse menu. We love the flights at Salt Road (with handmade carriers made by the owner!). The experience at the Greeley brewery was very commercial and was not the same welcoming and comfortable experience we feel every time we go to Salt Road Brewery. Call us beer snobs but it will be hard for us to go to any other brewery other than Salt Road Brewing. read more
